My Brother is visiting from NYC and is trying to take advantage of all the delicious California Mexican Food since Mex food in NY is garbage (except for the $4 TJ street tacos in NYC). We've been here two nights in a row. He had rolled tacos and I had a carne asada burrito the first night. Tonight he had carne asada nachos and I had rolled tacos and asked for pollo asado to be a topping as well. This place is especially delicious!!! 5 stars is an understatement. No stale hard tortilla ever, always crunchy and crisp to perfection. The guacamole A+, Toppongs A+, Carne Asada has a great flavour so does the pollo asado. The variety of salsas is great, there's one for every Pallet (although I personally enjoy mixing green salsa and the red roasted chili sauce with lime juice). The sliced cucumbers are a plus and a huge staple in Mexican taquerias. The pickled jalapeño peppers and carrots are ok the carrots always seem to be a bit over cooked. They are bit too soft which is wrong they should be medium cooked and crunchy still. The whole mouth watering experience of savory food is as gratifying as it is satisfying with great portions. Definitely recommend you try this place out if you haven't. Parking is busy but ample you won't have trouble finding a place to park. Easy access from freeway and nearby shopping malls. Sorry forgot to take pictures my one track mind only allowed me to focus on chewing down on my masterpiece dinner. Look forward to...
Read moreA friend of mine and I were out adventuring and got that feeling...you know the one... yeah, the feed me feeling. He had heard of this place being good so we headed over. First impression wasn't good as there was a table of 5 overtly loud, out past their curfew, annoyances sitting by the register. We won't hold that against these saints of the carne though. I ordered carne asada fries and sat down to wait. My friend then brought over some carrots and peppers which I usually refuse to eat. Holy hell if these things weren't tasty though. So much so that as my fries came out I got 2 trays of these carrot/peppers and added them to my fries. Their salsa verde (self serve as well) has more spice than any other place I've been. My fries, cooked perfectly, meat tender, toppings fresh, just imagine what a plate of WIN tastes like and that's what I got. Honestly the annoyances disappeared as well as the stench billowing off of them as I devoured this nervana inducing god food. This place is about 15 minutes from home and I pass like 4 other Mexican food places much closer to me just to get these fries now. So please,...
Read moreWhat a shame, this place has amazing potential in every aspect, I want to start out by saying one of the lady's that works here is absolutely amazing but there's also another women who is one of the most abrasive and rude people I've ever seen, Along with a few rude cooks which makes me not come here nearly as often as I would. You know it's sad when I actually look to see if the nice lady is working before I enter, and if the rude lady's working I turn around and drive away because she's a terrible person. The rude one also needs to realize we live in San Diego and a lot of us speak Spanish, so when she t Speaks badly about a customer in Spanish to the cooks there's a good amount of so-called "Gringos" that know exactly what she's saying and laughing about. So disrespectful...
