If you're making your way through it's a good location to be close to Walmart and convenience stores. That's i feel is the only plus on this. First off, i got here around 11 pm with the family wife and kids and pet ( plus too btw). Anyway we walk in the room light switch dont work, walked over to desk light (not working). Had to go over and turn on bathroom light wich took about 5 mins to turn on. Kids and wife were very tired from being on the road so had to get a spot to spend the night. Room was fairly clean, inside outside is a different story. Bathroom ceiling is a mess. I mean only takes 5 min to at least cover up with paint what ever the spots are. When we got here there were at least 5 cop cars here going into one of the rooms not sure what happened there. There is a guy blasting music outside passed out with open liquor bottles in the floor downstairs from me. Nobody is doing anything. Crack heads all over the place. Next to a truck stop so this must be a street lizard motel. I recommend people stay away unless its last resort and your not traveling with kids. I would have stayed somewhere else but all hotels were full. Just letting people beware i know ymmv.

If I could give 0.5 star I would, but the front desk clerk was nice. Our room was very dirty. There was not much light in the room. There were cobwebs with live spiders in the corner and on the lamp next to the bed. We also killed a bug that was crawling across the floor. There was dust in the corners of the rooms, hair on the bathroom floor, and someone's boogers wiped on the wall! Between one bed and the night stand were dust bunnies and old food. Under the other bed was dust bunnies, food, toys, and a weird wet/oil stain that looked like mold or something. The smoke alarm had a plastic bag covering it! There were gnats flying above the sink, mold inside the toilet, no wash cloths, half used toilet paper, and the shower/bathtub did not drain very well. Also, when we went to the pool, there were weeds growing all around it, old lounge floats, an old mattress outside the pool, and algae in the bottom of the pool that you couldn't even see the bottom in places. It looked nothing like what the website shows. My husband, myself and our children were very disappointed.

TLDR; bed bugs, rotten foul smell, better to sleep in a bush outside. Ohh man. Bedbug Alert!!! Our first room was infested with bedbugs, which we thankfully saw before we went to sleep. We went to the front desk to get a room change — the second room we were given also had bedbugs. Finally we were given a third room… which was free of bedbugs… but which had an eye-watering sickly sweet air freshener smell that was obviously doing a poor job of hiding an intensely foul stale socks mixed with rotting meat smell wafting from some corner of this gross little room. Ohhh man. Spent a pretty paranoid night in there. If you stay here, check the mattress seams!!! And get a refund if there’s any bugs. Obviously they’ve been having this problem and don’t want to deal with it. I get that it’s a cheap roadside motel but the uncleanliness (like other people have pointed out) is unbelievable… sheesh. Get rid of the pests and hire some better cleaners, I’d rather have slept in the bushes outside!!!!!

I booked here on two different occasions. I was traveling from Utah to Missouri and this is the halfway point. My first night stay was an easy enough check in. Lady behind the desk was nice enough. My room wasn't cleaned yet so I had to wait a bit before I could get into it at 7 o'clock at night. When I did get in the floor was super dirty (obviously not vacuumed) but the rest was clean and the bed was decently comfortable. The Internet was not working. I was told it was because of a storm that had blown through. So catching up on any work was not a possibility. Their breakfast is not the worst it's actually a decent free breakfast. When I came to stay on my way back however the nightmare continued. I reserved a room only to drive 11 hours and be told by the young woman at the front desk that my room was not available. Even though I had a confirmation number she just shrugged and said sorry. I was told they had been overbooked. It was late and I had no room to stay in so I sat in the lobby for a moment trying to find another hotel. The internet still did not work so it took me a while to get the websites to load. The lady behind the desk did give me the number of one of the motels at least to try and call. As i was sitting calling around another couple came in and was told the same. Their room was not available either. I told them I would help them find a room at the Days Inn where I had just found a room but as I was getting my reservation finished off and the phone handed over suddenly the lady behind the desk told them that she had a room for them. What? She said we will just have to clean it but we can get you guys in no problem! I was shocked. I asked why I had not been offered the same? I wasn't just a walk in. I had a reservation. Needless to say I left and went to another Hotel. Days Inn. Nicer room, they beat the price of the travel lodge and they have a FREE HOT BREAKFAST. I am actually quite happy I changed because now that I know. I will never go back to travel lodge. Especially when I can get a better room for the same price. My recommendation is save yourself the headache and stay elsewhere. I am not a confrontational person but I left very upset! That is NO WAY to treat a paying customer. I don't recommend ever staying here for business especially with no internet. I might add that the hotel just down the road I am staying in has internet that works just fine. It's literally yards...

I’ve stayed here several times and never had a complaint, last night when I checked in I was told I had to pay a 50 dollar deposit. I’ve never been asked to do this previously, however I paid the deposit. I waited almost 30 mins to be checked in as the desk clerk was having to clean rooms to rent. Fine. The desk clerk says I only had one pillow but said he’d find more, which he did. However the room itself was dirty. Very dirty. And I heard two other customers complain that not just one but multiple rooms they were put in were also very dirty. There were used dirty dishes stacked up a dog toy near the bed, the bed it’s self only had sheets nothing at all in the room was wiped down, there was visible debris all over the carpet used coffee in the coffee maker and dirty towels near the sink the overall condition even if it had been cleaned is very old and run down. I left and stayed at another hotel this morning I called to let them know of the situation. I was told the owner would fix it and that a entire staff had been let go due to these issues. Then I received a call back and was told the owner would not refund my money unless I provided the detailed receipt to the other hotel..I said ok, so he is reimbursing me for the other hotel stay? I was told no he wouldn’t only for the amount of his room. I have stayed here 3 times in the past few months..the room was dirty they don’t even deny this..however they refuse to refund me unless I have a detailed receipt..but they won’t refund the amount for the hotel?! Horrible customer service as I was asking the desk clerk about this he got loud with me to the point I had to hold the phone away from my ear then I was hung up on. Ridiculous and absolutely horrible customer service when they know and admitted their fault. I wasn’t asking for the over 100 dollars I spent on the other room I simply wanted the money for the room that was dirty. I was told that due to cereal in the sink that they accused me of leaving it excused the dirty dishes towels and everything else. Honestly stay anywhere but here any hotel owner who is this cheap should be put out of business..I hate to think just how many corners are actually cut daily. Plenty of other options don’t stay here! It’s disgusting and I’ve never had worse customer service..you don’t rent dirty rooms to people. And I know they did the same thing to at least 2 other people last night alone. I’m making a report...

Honestly, you get what you pay for. For $50-60 a night, walk in with 0 expectations. Be forewarned, this is a franchised location, and DO NOT expect corporate Wyndham service. Or any service whatsoever honestly. Here are the takeaways:

CONS:

Staff are non-existent and unhelpful. I waited for about 10 minutes to check in, ringing the bell multiple times and even calling out quite loudly to say that I was there to check in. Only after the staff member “came out of the bathroom,” the attitude and body language said loud and clear that I was a bother to be there and they were pissed that they even had to deal with me.

No regular services were available. No listed amenities outside of the room were available and it looks like they haven’t been operational in years. If you need ANYTHING, you’ll be going to the gas station or elsewhere. Also, to reiterate, don’t rely on the staff to do anything, or even be there.

The Room. Dark, stale, and outdated. The toilet seat is permanently stained yellow from years of use and was so loose the two of us were afraid to sit down fearing it would slide off. The bathtub caulk and tiles are cracking, discolored from hard water stains and black from older bouts of mold and coming away from the wall, which is causing god knows how much damage to the wood and plaster behind. It also allows ants to come in. The wallpaper is coming loose, the door in our room didn’t seal all the way allowing a constant draft in, the air conditioner/heating unit worked but the buttons and cover were broken and cracked, you get the idea…

PROS: The Bed. While I can’t attest for how clean it actually was, the mattress was very comfy and I slept very well!

Location (kinda). Yes, it’s right near the highway, but so are all of the other accommodations in the area.

The Price. You won’t find cheaper, but at what cost?

Honestly, there are only 2 scenarios for why this Travelodge is so poorly ran and in such a state of disrepair: a) the franchisee doesn’t have the money for upkeep, which is disappointing, but should also signal that they should consider selling. Or b) they genuinely don’t care, which is even worse and they should equally consider selling for...
