I had the pleasure of going to 308 Lounge for the 1st time & it was phenomenal!!! Last night, I was that annoying customer that wanted a substitution.. I am a vegetarian & have been for 34yrs - so I had asked if there was anyway they could substitute something for the chicken in any of their Indian dishes? Patel personally came to the table - asked if I had anything in mind - I told him I am good with whatever he would be willing to create. (I was also sure to tell him if not, I would completely understand as there were plenty of other things on their regular menu I would be happy to try as well). But I LOVE spicy vegetarian Indian food, so I had to give it a shot w the substitution. He went ABOVE & BEYOND!!! It was a delicious Paneer dish w rice & Naan!! We were also sure to try their Mango Lassi which I also loved - you need to like the consistency of yogurt & the flavor of ginger. And if you have not tried Indian beer before - 308 Lounge has worked extremely hard to get Flying Horse beer for you, imported directly from India. Its smooth & crisp & perfect to wash the authentic spice down!! If you haven’t had a chance to get out there!! Make sure you do!! The food was amazing, the customer service was friendly & helpful & Parth Patel is...
Read moreOk so we roll up to this place and it’s like some kind of dystopian parking lot with weeds and dust blowing in the wind. An old broken down Chevy on the far side and we are the only ones there it seems.i lock the doors and leave my wife and child to their accepted fate.
I stroll in and there is an old silverback tipping back straight bourbon and hanging onto his chair. The lights are low and it smells of old whiskey and last nights paid for date.
But we are hungry and in a hurry. We read reviews and for some reason people rated this place high so we thought we would give it a go.
We ordered the butter chicken and takitas. When they brought the food I raced back to my truck fearing it would be gone and my wife and kids never to be seen again.
Whew! It was still there. I climbed in and locked the doors and we decided to eat in the truck. Prepared for the worst because I lived in India for 6 years I took a bite of my butter chicken and good lord it was easily the best I have ever had and it isn’t even close. I mean what is that chef even doing there and not running his own 5 star restaurant?
Go there. Order the butter chicken and never mind the looks...
Read moreUnfortunately, we had a less than desirable experience at this restaurant. The food looked very appealing, but tasted like it was reheated. The carne azada meat was what the waitress recommended and I only ate like 3/4 of the one enchilada of two served (first time in my life I do not finish my enchiladas). It tasted like it was reheated cardboard and had a tough, dry texture. The flavor was absent. The Spanish rice also had a bland and diluted taste. The salsa was very runny and it had a diluted taste with added sweetener. The guacamole had poor texture, poor flavor. This restaurant was highly rated and that's why we went there, but I question the people who rated it and I would suggest that people don't go just based on ratings alone for any service or business because you don't know where these ratings come from or are a mere favor. We were Very disappointed. My hope with this review is to encourage better business, better recipes, better ingredients, better cooks, better service, and not to merely badmouth the place. The place was clean and with open seating. I look forward to giving it another try in the future....
