Economy Inn — Hotel in Okeechobee

There wasn’t a coffee pot in the room and the AC unit was broken you had to stick your finger in it to make it work. The light between the beds didn’t work. The door handle didn’t work you had to dead bolt it to keep it closed. And I requested that my room be cleaned just before I got there because I’m doing chemo treatments and everything needs to be cleaned because I don’t have an immune system right now. When we got there the lady was rude and asked why it had to be so clean and she said if I sick that we couldn’t stay and I told I have cancer not covid19. she told me to clean the myself. How rude. She said that’s good because if you did even though you paid already you couldn’t stay here. Really I explained it all in the email I sent to them when I reserved the room. What’s America coming to. We need more Americans running America all these people from other countries don’t understand us. There’s no reason to be mean to cancer patients. I will not stay there again. We came upon this nice hotel and found it to be clean and well maintained. We rented there on numerous times over the past year and rented numerous rooms too. One thing that seemed odd is the intrusiveness of the owners. It always seem that they were in our rooms turning off our A/C. It is hot outside so when want to come to our hotel the A/C is off. It always happens. The last time was bad. They called to pay for the night and told them I was with my daughter on the phone and when I was finished I would go by. They called two more times and knocked on the door twice. I went to the office and told me that why I did not come the first time he called me. I said my daughter wanted to talk to me. He then said " was it an emergency. I told him off and said that my daughter is more important than him, me and his hotel.....he told me to leave & I left. Rude people only cares about himself...has very poor customer service skills.....avoid this hotel at...

I travel alot for my profession. Pretty much nine months a year. And I get to stay in some pretty nasty places with rude service but this place takes the cake. The rooms smell so bad it's almost impossible not to gag upon walking in (think putrid rotten oldspice and mothballs). Every thing in the room is covered in a very thick coat of dust. But aside from the terrible rooms, the owners wife in an intrusive rude woman. And the owner himself (seemingly nice man) tried letting himself into my room while I was at work (with my girl friend in the room by herself) to show off the layout of the room to complete strangers. Do your self a favour and don't skimp the extra 30 bucks to step up to a nicer place. For...
