Was excited to try this place after reading the reviews...with Okeechobee being so full of Hispanic culture I thought for sure this place would be an A+...on a scale based on typical Mexican restaurants...where they all taste the same and order from the same distributors this place is below the normal....C- to D+. Menu suggests "homemade tortilla chips and salsa" it was literally those round tortilla chips from a bag and chunky tomatoes out of a can...and you had to pay for a very small bowl ($1.25). I ordered the "Mexican plate" (9.00) with "chunky beef", rice, and beans....it was some sort of canned pot roast meat chunks and rice and beans. Meat literally looked like dog food. It came with two flour tortillas...that's all. They MAY be homemade, as suggested...better than average, but not worth stopping for. Disappointing...was gonna try a taco truck down the road instead but ended up here because of reviews. One step above a taco bell on the border of Texas and Mexico, but not very authentic in terms of true Mexican. 15.00 lunch for one person with a drink....that...
Read moreThis is the first time i ever done a review and im absolutely disappointed. I came here hoping I would get some good Mexican food or TexMex and the photos looked good and thats what got me but the moment i got there i knew it was a mistake. I am a Latina who appreciates good TexMex but it was very disappointing when I didnt see people from my culture nor did the food look good enough like in the photos. Not even the staff were latin. They were wonderful and quick so I appreciate their service but its not worth going there if you are from Latin roots. The food was very much can and bags and very Americanized for my taste. First and last time going there. If you like unseasoned food then by all means its good but if you dont i advice not to go. The staff were the only good thing there. I was born and raised here and never again...

Las Coco's owner waited at the bank to meet me! He steadfastly refused the reward I offered him, but did...
