So my girlfriend and I stayed here with our 2 girls in October because of the proximity to the soccer tournament in nearby Sanford. Upon arrival at approximately 730pm we were welcome by one of the owners who politely explained that our room is actually 2 rooms that they had put together to accommodate the 2 girls; which was perfect because it added an extra bathroom. With key in hand we went off to our room to unpack....the room was very small but extremely clean; one double bed. The other room had 2 small single beds and again small but very clean. Brand new refrigerator TV and microwave. Our stay was for 3 nights and the bill was only 260 bucks. It is obvious this place has been there a while and probably had its fair share of ownership. But the service at the counter was great and very accommodating. ||The only thing we had issues with is how extremely small it is. It seemed like we were in each other’s way all the time. And the heat did not work so we were given a small space heater to use. Typically these motels are closed for the season by October. So it is understood the heaters probably aren’t used often and probably not maintained on a regular basis. The owner did explain this was their first year owning the Crosswinds and will more than likely not be open in October next season. ||I would give this place a 3.5 if I could. During the summer I’m sure it serves its purpose for beach goers and bar hoppers as a place to shower, sleep and use...
Read moreThe place is very clean and the landlord is a very sweet lady! The pool was also nice and very clean! Sadly, the mattress are very hard and uncomfortable. I traveled with my mother and we were first in room 10 (upstairs). Mom having issues with stairs, the landlord switched us to room 2(downstairs). The beds upstairs were bad but the ones downstairs were worst. One bed in room 2 was in an angle when laying on it and the other, we could feel the springs. We woke up hurting from everywhere. It hurt enough for us to leave, loosing one day that was already paid for (about 183$ US). Also, they don't have any air-conditioning. We were lucky that it wasn't very hot while our stay but it was very humid and no AC nor heating was a little uncomfortable. This also leads to us having to keep the windows opened hearing the motorcycles passing by at night and also the train that passes right behind the motel - very noisy. Will not stay again - there are many other options that seems a...
Read moreThere was nobody at the desk when we arrived. Although rooms are technically non-smoking, the smell of cigarette smoke is heavy everywhere .The windows must be open given lack of A/C, and the smoke from other guests drifts in continuously. Each room has a outside table with an ashtray. There are extra ashtrays available on the patio. Outside stairs would not be suitable for young children or elderly. Ask for a first floor room if stairs are challenging. Trains run by frequently, and are right behind the motel. Rooms are much smaller than they appear in the pictures. Mattresses were horrible. Wifi is very unstable if available at all. Owner was rude and unfriendly when checking out. She accused my 12 year old daughter of coming home drunk late the night before. We were all in bed at 10 pm. Honestly, couldn't...
