It has been 25+ years since I’ve vacationed to OOB and very little has changed! We booked for first week of August. We were so so lucky to find this place due to its superb location, hospitality, pool and amenities, cleanliness and overall perfect-delivery-of-OOB-experience that I had 25 years ago. We stayed in a family suite with kitchenette and a dividing wall between our bed and our kids. The rooms were so clean and cozy. The mini splits were great — open the windows in the morning and a nice seaside breeze would blow through. The kitchenette had everything we needed to include cooking stuff, pots and pans and a heating element to cook. The kitchenette was a huge edition to our experience and a wonderful touch. The location to the games and attractions was perfect. About a 10 minute walk (maybe faster without kids) and you’re there! Far enough so you don’t hear the screaming and yelling, but close enough to walk off your dinner before you do the ring toss and ride the tea cups. Management was sensational. My father traveled with us and had his own room and also his own demands, weird questions and odd accommodations; Whitney, behind the front desk, had no issue helping him. Management also enlists their kids to help with some of the chores around the building which was nice touch to the homey, OOB experience. The pool was perfect. Covered at night to retain heat and cleaned and skimmed every morning. Just dynamite. Also, the shower with WARM water to rinse off with amazing. I could continue with this review for several more paragraphs, but I’ll refrain. My father is already calling me to plan our next visit — I think we’ll try to book one of their houses ON THE BEACH. Newly renovated; it looks amazing. Thanks Whitney and fam! See you next year!

My wife and I stayed here for our 37 year anniversary. The room was small but nice and clean it was all we needed. It's very close to the beach you could literally throw a rock and hit the beach. The beach was clean and not too crowded. The boardwalk was very close, with in walking distance, with lots of stores and places to eat, arcade type games and amusement park rides. You will have a good time here and enjoy the hotel and beach. Of course the boardwalk will cost money so if you bring your kids have some money at your disposal.

My daughter and I had a little girls trip to OOB and stayed at the Echo Motel. Whitney and her staff were amazing, making sure all our needs were met and our stay was perfect. The location was ideal- with ocean access literally feet away and the ability to walk to the downtown area within 10 minutes, we could not have asked for anything more. The rooms were super spacious and very clean, as was the pool! We will definitely be back!!

We stayed at Cottage 1 for a week in early June and had a very pleasant experience overall. The unit had 4 bedrooms upstairs, which for us slept 6 (you could sleep up to 8 if you had the right mix of people). Bedrooms are not large, but all have windows and ceiling fans and are nicely decorated. We did wish that there was some kind of light-blocking capability in the bedrooms when the sun came up in the morning. The upstairs has a vintage tub and sink, etc.

The downstairs/daytime accommodations are what matter most in a beach cottage, and this place delivered. The entire downstairs is one big room, so everyone could talk and hang out whether in the living room or kitchen. I should mention that everything is pine paneled (looks new), and the furniture and decorating are very well done. It felt less like a rental than that we were using some relative's place that was their own.

We spent a lot of time on the wraparound porch because you could see the ocean and the action, yet be in a comfy chair and sipping your coffee or whatever. Also you could be out of the sun when you weren't out on the beach. This place has a little "sand/grass" buffer, almost like a sandy yard, between you and the beach. So you can quickly get to the beach through a path, but still have a place to hang out on the sand in your little enclosure (there were plenty of chairs and a picnic table).

Overall, a solid value for Maine coast rentals in pre-season. The owners were friendly and available, but not "hovering"...they know what they're doing. They also offered advice on eateries, telling us which tourist traps to avoid. We ate well without overspending all week.

We will go back there again if they have cottages available. It's quite a lucky find, we thought (and we've rented places up and down the...

We arrived tired from driving five hours wanting to rest and discovered that the gathering table for the entire motel was placed just several feet outside our room with a sign posted next to it quiet 10 pm to 8am. Children weee screaming back and forth to parents in there room across the corridor as they were sitting there hours playing around table and this continued at breakfast the next morning around 830 and most of the day as it was not a beach day with no consideration for people in our room 3 . This motel gave no warning of this table being there a total invasion of any privacy and quiet time and sleeping past 8 if anyone used the table early to people using that room as well as loud noise all day and night if young screaming children at it. The table there next to room and parking lot area on the corner as well as fairly close to rooms 6 and 7 should be removed and just the table outside room for 2 be there and inside room and obviously we didn’t use our table outside room with people on top of us at that big table. The ocean view the entire point we wanted the room 3 was a frosted half window in kitchen with view standing only and when open do to frosting letting out the air conditioning also not explained. I would absolutely never stay here ever again. You may see picture of table by room and frosted window above air conditioner...
