Excellent place, very lovely, but let me start from the beginning. This motel is located in the center of Orleans, set back from the main road, very quiet, without any noise from the road under new ownership/management. I was here in June/July and I was here again in August for 12 days and I will be guest again and again. I come to Orleans for biking and for the admiration and love of True Cape Cod - Orleans, Eastham Wellfleet and Truro.... If I could give 100 I would give 100, but the option is 5 stars so I gave 5 stars. The reception and breakfast room are located in the original travelers house which is about 150 years old with fantastic original hearth and original hardware. The interior and exterior are fully renovated an year ago. Interior is impeccable, very clean and charming. There is original wooden, renovated floor. There are nicely spaced new and clean tables for breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, there is fantastic coffee, strong and full of aroma. I know what I am talking about because I am coffee maniac. There are 3 types of oatmeal with milk, there are bananas and New York Style bagels, very well working toaster with 6 options of toasting- ( pictures with settings are on the wall). There are hard boiled eggs in the fridge, Chobani yoghurts at least 4 flavors, cold orange juice, and cold fruit punch, very tasty chocolate in bags and hot water and energy bars too. I hope didn't miss anything..... May room was impeccable too, very clean, without any smell, and fully renovated just an year earlier. The bed was double size, very comfortable, not too soft not too firm. Too soft mattresses are hurting spine, my mattress was just about good. Huge A/C installed in the wall just above the floor, making NO sound or any noise was very, very efficient, making room temp freezing while outside was 90F! Fantastic a/c. Refrigerator in the room was freezing cold, preserving food greatly. There is also coffee maker in the room with coffee containers - I am not sure how it is called. Wi/fi working perfectly, flat TV with big selection of channels. There is nice backyard, very quiet with the view at the "jungle" - one of Orleans preservations, with the mesmerizing sound of chirping crickets and other insects till the very very late night. Very peaceful and almost hypnotic experience. But, NO mosquitos in the area!!! I was told that the area was treated against mosquitos. Bathroom is clean. There is also pool, moderate size, just enough to rest and good place for children. This is not resort type of hotel, this is very nice, very clean motel for those who want to come over and appreciate and admire True Cape. Manager Peter is very friendly and polite person, I spent lots of time having enjoyable conversations with him. I am going to come over again and I really recommend this place. It was a pleasure to spend my time in this motel. With...
Read moreExcellent pl to stay close to all the great beaches Nauset the national sea shore, Skaket in Orleans great for families with small children. Just do a little research and you will find your beach of choice. The Inn is located right on 6a so convenice is not an issue. Peter who works the desk at the Inn was pleasant, courteous and very helpful. We had a little car trouble and my wife and I were on our last night with no rooms available the next day. It was a sunday the garage across the st opened at 6:30am the following day. Until we knew what was wrong with the car wasn't sure if we needed another night. Peter worked with us said if anything came up cancellation wise he would let us know. Well we needed the other night car needed a new alternator and we needed piece of mind. Thanks to Peter we had piece of mind. The rooms are spotless the king size bed was just what we needed very comfortable. Oh yes if for any reason you cant find parking at one of the local beaches the Old Tavern Inn has a pool out back that is clean and does the trick. Our second time staying here and will be back Summer 2025. Go ahead and book you...
Read moreWe wanted to do an off-season week on Cape Cod in early October, and were surprised by the uniformly high prices for inns and airbnb's. Olde Tavern was only about half the cost of other possibilities in the general area we wanted to go. We didn't think the room photographs looked that great, but we planned on being outdoors most of the time and the reviews were very good considering the price, so we booked. VERY pleased we did. Rooms are quite large, well-equipped and better looking than photos. As stated in reviews, place was pristine clean. And the location was fantastic for getting quickly to the national seashore, Provincetown, Chatham, etc. And in particular for us, it was a few blocks off the marvelous 30-mile paved, dedicated bike trail from Yarmouth to Wellfleet, with its additional side trail to Chatham. LOVED getting out on our bikes in this area. And not to forget the breakfast: lots of good choices, even for my picky, gluten-free partner. Combined with the lost cost of the rooms, the included breakfasts really made our holiday-cost efficient, while being totally comfortable. Highly...
