The short version of it...||||Pros: ||- cheap ($50 plus tax)||- lake view||- no pet fee||||Cons:||- not pet “friendly”||- poor management ||- loud, loud, LOUD!||- rooms are bright||- no truck/trailer parking||- can’t book online||- bad management||- shady dealing ||- can’t eat full refund||- ants||||The selling version...||Came to Osage for work, hadn’t secured housing yet. Called up Kay Lynn in the way in to town to inquire about their pet fees, which I was informed there was none. I went to booking.com and booked a room paying for it online as well. Once I got in they had no reservation, no knowledge of any reservation. A little frustrating, but I was able to cancel with booking.com and got my money back.||I decided to stay a little longer (ended up being about 2 weeks) and during this time was beyond courteous with the dogs as well as being guests. Was quiet, took our own trash out, never requested any services from them. I never felt truly welcomed here.||||The cleaning lady, who lives here? With her kids? Passive aggressively complained about the dogs playing in the room. Instead of confronting me about it. So we stopped playing with the dogs. Then one day after taking the trash out this older woman in a Mizzou sweatshirt confronts us, “what room are you staying in?” Not once telling us who she was. I had to inquire who was so curious as to what room I was staying in. The general manager asked about a ruckus we heard. I wasn’t fully sure what she meant, as every night for the past week or so they had been putting peoplw RIGHT next door to us. (This during the COVID pandemic, so we were the only guests) the walls are so thin, and whoever lives right below blasts their tv every night. So again, not sure what she meant.||||The big reason they get one star is the interaction I had with the general manager on the final day. We had left for 10 mins (probably more like 15, but not long) and the dogs apparently were barking while we were out (not the first time we’ve left them) well not long after we got back she was knocking on the door. My dogs were barking, and she just can’t deal with dogs barking. And they were tearing things up (didn’t see any damage...) so I called and asked about a refund (had two more days booked) and walked down to get it. Well the general manager must have seen me and followed me in. I apologized once more for the dogs barking, which she once more drove the point home about “the room is too small for such big dogs” (was never told about size restriction?) and I mentioned I had a couple more days booked (never was given a receipt...) in which she comes back, “I owe you $100” and gives me cash... I’d have liked the amount of tax I paid as well, but not worth a battle. After politely apologizing once more, she had to get one last quip in, “your dogs don’t have...
Read moreGreeted by a barefoot woman who had just finished her cigarette, checked into our room (after opening one & then deciding that she had the wrong key) and the room appeared as though it hadn't been cleaned. There was hair on futon, long black hair on the towel in the bathroom (3 pieces, actually) folded back the bed to see if it was clean and there was hair in the bed. The floor was unswept. The AC wasn't cooling very well, and said the filter needed changed. Trash in the can. After looking around and just feeling uncomfortable about sleeping in a bed with someone else's hair still in it, we decided to look for a different hotel closer to our destination. We spoke politely to the woman about the room and told her there was hair everywhere. She inspected the room, dusted the hair off the bed, shook the towel, & asked why we were REALLY leaving. I told her the room was dirty, & I didn't want to sleep in a bed that obviously wasn't really clean. Felt that if there was hair in the bed who knows what else. She said "a few pieces of hair in my bed doesn't run me off", "we pride ourselves on cleanliness, I have a girl who cleans on Mondays with me", I told her we were not trying to offend, but we'd found another room by our destination that would be clean and she said not so nicely "you're very offensive, and you're not welcome back to my resort. Hope you're ready to dish out lots of money, go stay at the golden door, they're extra good and filthy. " Won't be back, won't recommend ANYONE to stay there. Very unprofessional, & not as clean as I expect a hotel. Got a room for $15 more down the road with all amenities, pool, cable, Wi-Fi, CLEAN room, & PROFESSIONAL,...
Read moreIf you’re looking to sign a lease here over the summer I’d look elsewhere. Great location, but they scam your deposit money from you. I stayed from the end of May until September. When moving in, our shower did not work and there was a hole where the shower head is, the toilet paper holder on the wall was broken off. We notified management so maintenance could come fix it. We also bought ourselves a new shower head for him to install. Oh and throughout my stay there, mold grew on all of my stuff due to their AC and lack of having a dehumidifier. Myself and my roommate put down $525 each for the security deposit and they took $200 out of the both of ours. $100 for the things that were broken when we moved in and $100 for cleaning a 300 sq. Ft. (If even) space. That’s $400 total they took. $200 for damages not caused by us and $200 for cleaning a place the size of a shed??? It’s the lake of the ozarks and owned by someone who runs a few bars there - I expected nothing less, than people trying to steal money. I asked for receipts of the cleanings and repair (for something again, we did not do) because we have the legal right to see where our deposit money was spent and management and the owner got REAL upset when we asked for that and claimed it was “more expensive” than what they charged and to consider “the issue over.” This place is a joke. Do not give these greedy people the money for this ran down place save your time and money. Photos attached for your viewing...
