Update 7/27: How did we not ever try that happy hour with $2 Buds and HH food specials?? There's free music, friendly servers and a great view, thank goodness we're locals😊🍸🥂🍻🍷
Although expensive at first glance, this is one of my favorite stores, primarily because they fly a HUGE, beautiful, American flag out front which observes all the special days and half mast occasions.
Beyond that, this is the store you want to be in when the zombies attack, because you can pretty much buy anything here. There are always special "10 for $10" offers, a decent sushi bar with a very friendly sushi chef whom if you ask nicely, will fix you up something special. The deli in the back is mind-boggling with the variety of hot foods and sandwiches that are available. There is a great variety of seafood and meats and don't get me started on the freezer section. I'm not much of a drinker, but the have an amazing alcohol/beer selection including the famous "Bob's Beer Barn." There is also a UPS store attached to the front and if you're lucky, you can smell the meat smoking out front in the smoker. For the most part, the staff is friendly and helpful, although no matter how many times I ask them to double bag my heavy items, it never gets done. Of course I don't notice until I get to the car, my bad. There is also a little restaurant upstairs with a great view of the lake but we will have to wait til the spring to visit...
Read moreAnother update 7/21/25: I happened to go when they were stocking produce this time. They are still freezing their produce. This time I got organic peaches and nectarines which were hard as a rock, which I assumed mean I'd need to ripen in a brown bag per usual. Unfortunately, the combination of the frozen fruit which condensated and was apparently already ripe in the first place once it thawed caused it to mold and be wasted. Come on Dierbergs do better with your produce. And I don't know what you are doing with your bananas to make them ripen weird but stop it. We pay a premium when shopping their and we expect premium product. Moral of the story...don't buy produce here if you can help it. For this side of the lake you can try Aldi's very hit or miss with availability or Hy-Vee very limited selection but never had a problem with their produce. Update: while the berries are usually ok the organic produc section (like the avocadoes, broccoli, etc.) Is not worth the money you pay. And they improperly store the avocados as I've received them frozen.
This store has a lot of vegan options, and organic produce section, a decent alcohol selection, and won't accosted you if you don't wear a mask. It is a bit on the expensive...
Read moreMy friends and I were going hiking in Ha Ha Tonka State Park and needed lunch provisions, so I suggested Dierberg’s Market. I remember it being such a great option the last time I’d visited Osage Beach, and I was not disappointed. Its selections were as bountiful as I remember, and EVERYONE was so helpful!
The manager (Ro Witt, I believe) was up at the front and directed us to all the aisles where we’d find what we were looking for; Loretta in Health and Beauty helped us with our supplements questions and was a hoot to talk with; and the two ladies in the Deli section were SO helpful—one came out from behind the counter to help us locate the specific types of sandwiches we were looking for. The three of us ended up with a sushi plate, a chicken wrap, and a market-made roast beef sandwich. We also picked up fresh fruit and—of course—two silly soaps to give as souvenirs. Jack checked us out up front and was lovely to chat with as he rang up our purchases.
We’re all from Kansas City, and my two friends kept remarking how impressed they were with Dierberg’s offerings and how wonderful everyone was on staff. And that’s why I’ll return to Dierberg’s every time I’m...
