I went to Wobbly Boots yesterday, with my family, for a quick lunch. We were seated right away, and our server was very nice. The decor was nice but a little dilapidated and not the cleanest; there were some cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, and our table felt sticky.
Our food took quite a long time; approximately 25 or 30 minutes. I had a Big Salad, with grilled chicken, and it was just okay. I envisioned something larger, because it had "Big" in the title, but it was just comparable to salads I've ordered at other restaurants. The chicken was cooked well, but it did not have much flavor. It wasn't awful, but just an easily forgettable meal.
My wife and daughter had the BLT and Brisket Quesadilla, respectively. Apparently the bacon was so heavily smoked that it detracted from the traditional BLT flavor my wife expected, and the tomato was "store bought," meaning it had little coloring and, consequently, very little flavor.
Tomato is an important component of the BLT sandwich, so Wobbly Boots should probably look into purchasing fresh ones for their sandwiches which feature it as a primary ingredient. The tomatoes on my salad we similar as well, but that wasn't as big of an issue.
Having said all of that, my daughter really enjoyed her brisket quesadilla, and she highly recommends it.
All in all, I would probably eat there again to try some of their other items. I wasn't turned off badly, just not impressed by what I ordered, and I'd like to see them shut down for a day and deep-clean everything.
TLDR: Just okay. The place is a little dirty, and they need to buy...
Read moreThe most HORRIFIC experience we have ever had at a lake area restaurant. We have a party of 8 couples who go out to dinner EVERY Wednesday night. The service was rocky from the start. Appetizers were delivered to another table and we're wrong when we did get them. One in the group didn't get her appetizers until after the meal. All I ordered for my meal was a side of coleslaw and a side of baked beans. The coleslaw was bad I sent it back. We ordered drinks we never got. When the bills came there was $60 worth of food on it we didn't order and I was charged for the bad coleslaw. We sent the waitress back 3 times to fix it. She didn't. Another couple in the group she dropped his debit card somewhere in the restaurant and sent us on a wild goose chase to find it. I had finally had enough and went.to the bar and asked for a manager. As soon as she saw me she started arguing loud enough for the whole bar to hear that we never complained till the bill came and embarrassed the.living daylights out of me to the point that two patrons at the bar said they would "buy our meal" since we couldn't afford it. I assure you that is not the case we go out every Wednesday night it is something we enjoy with our friends and between all of us our bills were close to $700 that were paid by the way and I can assure you not one in our group will ever set foot in that restaurant again. I've never been so embarrassed before in my life. And for the icing on the cake? Two teenage bussers followed us all out of the restaurant and took our license plates down like we were...
Read moreI decided to try this place after searching for gluten free places and reading a review about how many options there are. I asked the hostess station about a gluten free menu and she said didn't think there was one. Later as we were seated she did show up with one. Their sauce has gluten so be prepared there will be no sauce and burnt ends are cooked in the sauce so that's a no go. When the waitress came I asked about the dairy in things, I realize this is a pain for places so when she said she thought it might be hard for me to eat I understood. I was getting ready to leave and go next door to Pappo's pizza as they have gluten free/dairy free pizza and it's delicious. The waitress asked me to wait a moment and got her manager. He came out and thoroughly talked to me and made some suggestions. I apologized for being difficult, and he told me it was no problem. He suggested the pulled pork and spring beans which are sautéed with garlic, oil, and wine. My husband ordered the same. The kind waitress came back and repeated the order and said we really are a team here. You could tell she has deep affection for this place. The food was very good. I was really blown away by their above and beyond help. I apologize I didn't catch their names, my husband and I had to be in different cities for two weeks and we were catching up and excited to...
