A Respite INDEED!!

What a gem we found here. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary trip out to the Smokies and we were on our way back to MO and wanted to stay somewhere in-between, so Paducah KY it was. Found this nice B&B online and booked it. It was easy to find in downtown Paducah. We got an email with the code to enter the building and a code for our room, both worked perfectly. No one was there upon our arrival or necessarily checked in on us. But they had sent an email the day of our stay which gave us precise details of all the amenities and house rules. The secret billiard room was really cool. It did feel just a touch strange that we were the only folks there. Kinda like we were in the movie "Clue".

My wife and I rented the Lovebird suite, it was beautiful! The Respite was located just a few blocks from several restaurants and bourbon bars downtown. We took a stroll downtown for dinner and sightseeing at the river then brought our dessert back to our room. The room was very spacious and inviting, the entire house was very clean and well kept, with cool furniture and KY based decor.

My biggest compliment comes here. Out of ALL the places we stayed in our trip, after sharing in the "special request" sections of my online reservations that it was our anniversary, this was the ONLY place that did do something special for us. (Picture attached). They had a card, balloon, and chocolates for us! Perfect touch, THANK YOU! That "made"our stay.

It was VERY quiet there, I don't think anyone else was staying there that night. Someone was downstairs in the morning, cleaning possibly. Keep in mind that breakfast was unavailable for Monday mornings, unfortunately, but the correspondence was very clear about that up front, their online communication was great. Highly...

We stayed for almost three weeks and had a fantastic experience. It was even better than staying with relatives. This is undoubtedly the best Bed and Breakfast I have ever stayed in. The house was beautiful and our room was huge with two queen beds a walk in closet. The bathroom was also large with two double sinks. The room had a nice chair and a huge leather sofa with a place to recline at one end. The beds were extremely comfortable along with the pillows. A small workout room was located across from our room. There was even an elevator to the second floor, which was great for my knees and back. The Respite is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood that is only about four blocks from Broadway Street, which runs through the center of downtown. Shelley will cook you a nice breakfast or give you coupons to be used for two restaurants in town. We liked the Gold Rush restaurant because the food was good and they didn’t close until 2PM. The coupons were good until then and allowed us to eat a nice leisurely brunch. ||I grew up in the Paducah area and this homecoming was very different for me. My mother had passed away two years earlier and this was the first time I was not staying at our family home. My sister and I had sold the home we grew up in and I was worried that coming back would sadden me. However, Sam, Jonas and Shelley treated my wife and I just like family. They even knew my sister who still lives in Paducah. ||Now don’t ask any more questions, just book your stay and you’ll be...

The hubs and I decided to stay here over Valentine's weekend. It was so easy to book. The hosts were excellent communicators and did a great job of recommending local places for us to try. The place was a beautiful place that incorporated classic and historical architecture with modern amenities and comforts. Our room was much bigger than we expected. The bathroom was also a good size. The whole place had a luxurious feel. The linens were phenomenal. Velvet comforters and thick plush towels! the breakfast was all so wonderful. Saturday morning we had the best quiche I've ever had! Sunday morning we were treated to a hashbrown casserole of some sort which was also very satisfying. They also had bacon, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit salad and pastries to choose from. An excellent assortment of goodies! The hosts were so kind, welcoming and excellent conversationalist! Their attention to detail and their special touches made our weekend so much more memorable. We will definitely be...

This place is a gem! We booked online e without knowing much about it, and it exceeded any expectations we had. Check in was self service and it was a breeze. Management communicated promptly and clearly. The rooms were immaculate. Great size, comfy bed and even had a balcony to hang out on. We thought our favorite part would be the super awesome "hidden" billiards room, but it ended up being the old school elevator! We will definitely make this our place to stay anytime we're in Paducah!

This is a very interesting place. The check in is self service. Everything was clean and well maintained. We had the double queen room and loved it. The room is 45 feet long and 15 feet wide. Bathroom has been updated and is in good working condition. We traveled with a group of 8 adults, and there was plenty of room to gather in, as well as personal space. There is also a hidden billiard room. Don’t look at the photos if you don’t want to know where it is…
