The staff is knowledgable but not always nice. We stayed for 2 nights on a weekend and found our 1 bedroom unit without working heat. This was the worst possible timing as the temp was in the negatives. They quickly sent a maintenance guy out who was nice and thought he fixed the heater. Unfortunately, after 20 min of nothing happening our patience was getting thin as the temp was dropping in the unit. We called again twice and he finally made it out again (they claimed they were understaffed) and said it would have to be fixed when we weren't there in the morning. He gave us two 1500 watt oil heaters with good intentions. It was just too cold for the oil heaters to be useful. The four of us (me, wife, 4 year old and 1 year old) slept in the same king sized bed and that was the only way we were warm as when we awoke it was 54° in the unit. Warmer than outside by a large degree but still freaking cold with not many clothes on. We called around 10a to let them know we were leaving and to remind maintenance to come fix it. When we got back several hours later, low and behold, it was fixed and the temp was already in the 60s! Our next issue came when we were getting ready to check out. The only shower no longer worked. Instead it was trickling very hot water out (and I thought the hot springs was scalding!). We have no idea if that was fixed as we let them know as we were leaving. Aside from those two unfortunate issues, it was actually a nice place. The view was gorgeous (they had 2-3ft of snow covering everything and icicles at least one story tall) and there are a ton of activities to do. We would have loved to Ski Wolf Creek but had no one to watch the little ones. Instead, we went to the hot springs, yes it smells like sulfur, but it was really relaxing and we rented a sled at the Alpine Haus for $5/day and went down reservoir hill across from the hot springs. That was a blast as the hill had a nice bowl to stop you. Back to the unit: they seriously need to renovate the older units though. They were probably built in the late 80s or early 90s as the shower trim was gold. Some things were newer (appliances, faucets, TVs were all Samsung LCDs) but the main guts isn't. Also, they say every unit has wifi access but that isn't necessarily true as it seemed to be area wide wifi. We would pick up the signal weakly (1-2 bars) on our iPhone 5s for 10 minutes until it was gone again. However at&t's 4G was excellent up there (and for most of the drive from the east). Can't speak to Verizon or Sprints service as we don't have any devices on them. We would stay with them again as the area is worth the drive (it's really a winter wonderland) and they're the only timeshare game in town. However, we would definitely try to pick an upgraded unit (2+ rooms) as they're usually in better shape from our experience...
Read moreWe came here through RCI exchange, relying on all the positive reviews. Maybe they assign the worst units to RCI, maybe they just don’t clean the units properly and totally neglect them. The kitchen in our unit was gross. The first thing I ran into was a stinky garbage disposal. And it was really stinky. The dishwasher door was dirty. When I called the front desk, a maintenance men came promptly, but only dropped garbage disposal chemical in there and instructed us to run the disposal in about 10 min. Even while he was in, gross yucky stuff like vomit started to come out of the disposal. He left leaving that stuff in the sink. I wanted to clean it myself, but more of that was coming out, and it made me throw up. I called the front desk again and asked to have the sink and the dishwasher door properly cleaned. They only cleaned the sink, leaving the dishwasher door dirty. Besides, all the kitchen surfaces are dirty, sticky and gross. All the appliances are dirty and stained as well. The refrigerator inside was not cleaned, has a lot of traces from other people’s food. The kitchen cabinets are dusty and sticky. After touching anything in the kitchen, I had to wash my hands. The light switches are dirty. I asked to give me some cleaning disinfectant wipes, the front desk lady refused. I had to buy disinfectant wipes myself to clean and disinfect all the surfaces I touch, since we have to stay here for a week. The furniture, kitchen appliances and cabinets are outdated and need replacement. The bed linens are old, dingy and extremely wrinkly. Disgusting. The drawers were not cleaned, had some debris after previous guests. I didn’t unpack my clothes in those drawers. I will not let this ruin our vacation, but would never recommend this place to anyone. As far as the resort itself. Unless you are an active healthy and strong adult that came for skiing, hiking and other outdoor activities away from the resort, there is nothing to do at the resort. Only double yellow roads without sidewalks between subdivisions, only parking lots in front of the houses. Nowhere to walk, no chairs or benches to relax. There are a few picnic tables near the lake. I can only recommend this resort if you are coming for active outdoor activities and come to the resort only to...
Read moreUpon arrival to the resort we were assigned to unit in which we proceeded. Entering the unit it had a very strong odor, there was caulking coming up from around the sink and bathroom areas, the walls had dirt and filth on them, the couch was badly worn out, the kitchen table chair was broken, the sink and tub did not look clean, trim coming apart from the walls, and the bed did not look professionally made it look as if someone had just slept in it. Not acceptable! While looking over the unit we called the front desk to notify them of all of the concerns that we had, were told that maintenance will come over to spray for the odor. No one showed up. After about 15 min we proceeded to the front desk to explain this experience that we encountered. I asked the property manager Tarra would she want to stay in the unit like that and she replied “no”. We were given another unit. The replacement unit had crumbs of dirt on the counter in the kitchen, dried up food on the counters and floor, the couch was worn, shower, sink and tub were stained. We took it upon ourselves to sanitize the unit with bleach and Lysol. We shouldn’t have had to do that. We expected much more of Wyndham Pagosa, the pictures displayed on our RCI membership was nothing compared to what we saw in reality. The toilet water ran, the heater in the unit was not as productive nor was the dryer. There was a family placed above us with children who were consistently making noises, jumping off of the furniture making loud banging sounds running through the night and early morning. We did report this to the front office several times. Around the property of Windham the roads were horrible, there were numerous potholes throughout! We decided to end our vacation with Wyndham two days early due to all of our concerns. Manager saw this reviews for us to reach out to them personally. We did and have never heard back! Bad business. Bad...
