Disappointing breakfast with just apples, bagels, cereal and yogurt. No bread, no eggs, no sausage and no microwave. Staff isn’t friendly and lacks any customer service skills. | The lobby is beautiful and the rooms spacious, clean and well maintained.|DESPITE reserving a handicap room, I found the “handicap room” wasn’t wheelchair friendly. I give the hotel a C- as “handicap friendly”. The bathroom so small I couldn’t close the door with my wheelchair in the bathroom (with the footrests removed) and I couldn’t get to the shower because the door was in the way, I had to walk into the bathroom (a struggle for me) then close the door to get into the shower. The shower is dangerous without any hand/ safety rails. | I did get a walk in shower and they did provide a shower chair but the only shelf in the shower was on the back of the shower and not reachable when using the shower chair. This is a DANGEROUS shower which requires using the glass shower door handle to move in/out or stand while bathing. It’s a million dollar accident waiting to happen.| Two more issues with simple solutions: the toilet is an old “squat” toilet (probably 14 in bowl height) making use and transferring to and from the toilet difficult (no grab bar). New toilets are 17 1/2 and 18 inches making the wheelchair chair to toilet easier and safer. Finally, the carpet in the room is beautiful and thick BUT it was hard to move around in the room with the wheelchair. Many hotels now have “hard surface” floors making it much easier to move around and safer for those using walkers or canes. PLUS hotel carpets are known to hold bacteria with the hard surface easier to clean.| Pitiful internet which goes every hour or so and the TV didn’t work well despite the desk clerk trying to fix it.. about every 15 minutes the tv would go offline requiring a wait and restart...
Read moreGreat Place if you like COLD SHOWERS We made short trip, 2 nights, to Cherokee to enjoy the fall colors. The hotel was very nice and well kept. The reception desk personnel were friendly. The room was clean and the bathroom was apparently updated not too long ago. The beds were comfortable as was the A/C or heat. They offer complimentary breakfast, coffee, and hot chocolate. Check in and out very easy. However, all that being said our stay was soured by the fact that the the bath faucet, shower, had nothing but cold water. No matter which way the handle was set , COLD WATER. This made for miserable showers the first morning. I went to the front desk and explained the situation and that it wasn’t an acceptable and asked what could be done. He told me that the maintenance man would look into it while we were away for the day. Later that day we returned to our room and I checked the water temperature. It was still flowing cold water. I went to the desk to see if we could get another room. I was told that the problem was known about with some of the rooms when they were updated. All we needed to do was put the handle to the cold side and it would get hot. I went to the room and indeed it did get slightly warmer but still too cold for bathing. I was then told that the hotel was full and there was no other room for us to move into. This is not the way I am accustomed to being treated as a customer. I would have thought if they knew of this problem the room should not have been available to rent. I can only say if you decide to stay here beware of the COLD SHOWER. There was no resolution for this problem only a half hearted apology when I...
Read moreThe rooms and breakfast buffet are definitely 3-star, nothing special to write home about. Dust in the vents in the bathrooms and is very old, you can tell it needs a fresh coat of paint, some carpet, and new couches/linen, it would go a long way. The walls are yellow, needs to be repainted, the comforters seem to be inserts that you’re supposed to place inside a cover, the couches have seen better days in the king suites, and the curtains have holes in them. No bugs. The breakfast bar consists of grab and go items, no eggs bacon or waffles, everything seems to be store bought but is still good none the less after gambling all night. That being said, the service is 10/10, and one of the best places you can get near the casino with a shuttle to take you to and from. It runs every hour on the hour until 1 am. I did not utilize this, I walked, so I have nothing specific to say about that other than it’s a great service to utilize. Everything was clean, even though the sink was clogged and the TV counsel area had fuzz from the rags used (telling me it was clean), I did not open the fridge or utilize the ice machine. Overall, though, for $219 a night on the weekend, it isn’t bad. My rating is deserved because it does seem to be a 3-star hotel, however, you can’t beat the service, shuttle, location and no bugs (why I chose here) so it...
