Our previous review, 7 years ago: We got chocolate chip pancakes, regular pancake breakfast with eggs and bacon, and French toast with sausage. The food was excellent, plentiful, hot, and got to the table quickly. Our waitress and bus boy were cheerful and friendly. The restaurant was not crowded (at 8 a.m.), was very clean, and had a pleasant atmosphere. Great experience!
9/7/2024: We were really looking forward to eating here again, and we're SO disappointed. The good: Our waitress was friendly and the service was good. The bad: They've gone to a buffet format, which pushes volume of food over quality. And the quality has suffered miserably. The pancakes were so bland they disappeared, and there were no individualized options like the ones we enjoyed before. No gluten-free option, like the buckwheat pancakes they used to have. In fact, the only items on the buffet I could have without an allergy trigger were bacon and poorly-made grits. The coffee was as bitter as a master sergeant whose wife abandoned him for a captain while he was deployed. The decor included signs promoting gun violence, which were not there before. I am a second amendment supporter to a sensible degree, but I don't want to have it hanging over my head - literally - at breakfast. We won't be back. It was both sad and...
Read moreIf I could give this place a 0 I would. When we arrived, while in the parking lot, we got to the front door.. there was a sign stating a mask was required. I was digging in my pocket for mine when I realized I had taken it out of my pocket,, before we could even turn around good we were approached by heavy set woman blowing out cigarette smoke, very rudely stating , wear a GD mask be a responsible adult wear a mask. My husband and I were appalled and actually surprised at such horribly rude behavior and that she just didn't say hey a mask is required. Then we could have told her that's not a problem we are mask wearers and vaccinated. But instead we were treated horribly. We got our mask and went inside all the while with the parking lot monitor watching us. Inside it was jammed pack, no one wS 6 ft apart as recommended by the CDC. it was a buffet, a very tiny buffet and not one person had on gloves. We left, it looked dirty in there from what we saw. When we turned and walked out. The rude woman smirked at us. We flipped her off. Couldn't help ourselves. I wouldn't advise a Yonex go there. Lucky for us a place just up the road called Granny's was open a had excellent...
Read moreUnfortunately we only had a credit card to pay and they were having connection issues, so they took us over to the store and tried to run the card there. We asked if they could add money to the total so we could leave a tip for our very nice server and they said they couldn't. Food was great, but need a wifi update. Update 8/7/2021 This place is a regular stop for us when in Cherokee. We went in and they attempted to sit us with in 30 inches of another table while their were clearly tables more distanced. I asked the young man if we could sit further away from another group. He initially ignored me so I asked again, "fine whatever" then when we sat down and the waitress came by she took our drink order then proceeded to say ok the buffet is over there. My husband followed her and found out they werent doing menu items just buffet. He offered to pay for our drinks as she was already in the process of making them. She was very nice. As we left she was telling the same young man we were leaving because it was buffet and again his attitude was apparent. All in all we usually like this place, but I don't think I can go back to somewhere that employs...
