Creek Tower of Harrah's in Cherokee is starting to show its age. My room was dingy. The carpets were stained. Mysterious drip marks marred the walls and doors. The furniture was chipped, dinged, and worn. These rooms were once beautifully appointed, but now they seem to be more for the budgeting clientele; the ones who are blind to wear and tear or a bit of dingyness. There is a newer attached hotel, Cherokee Tower, that is much nicer, but also much more expensive. They've pulled out all the stops for this newer hotel, and it shows! Poor Creek needs some of this attention too. It's a shame to let this once beautiful structure suffer through neglect. Restaurant choices are limited and everything is very expensive. There is a Gordon Ramsay Food Market to get a hot meal, salad, or dessert. Food price examples include, $21.00 for a burger, fries, and a drink... $12.00 for a slice of cake... $20.00 for fried rice and shrimp. Saving graces were that the food was hot and the portions were generous. Wait times varied because most food items were made to order. There are multiple areas to pay for ready-made items. The staff at the burger place was fast and efficient, so were the crew at the pizza stand and those preparing the fish and chips. The sushi bar was less efficient and lacked the level of customer care as the other places mentioned. I had to ask for my order. After which two other customers had to do the same. The food was good though, so there is that. The casino area was fairly active. There are several ways to gamble away your money. Slots with video game-like visual effects seemed to be the most popular choice. There are deceptive one-cent slots with minimum bets of 60 cents per play. Many players will break even if they keep track of what they are doing. Others will lose a lot of money if chasing the elusive jackpot. There are not a lot of big wins here. The decor of the casino floor is also starting to show its age. The carpets were worn in some areas. Not many cocktail waitresses circulated through the crowds. There were lots of roped off areas that no longer seemed in use. This sort of added to the tired and worn vibe this place exuded. Patrons and floor staff were friendly, as most seem to be at a lot of casinos. A plethora of motorized scooters were available for less mobile clientele. Creek Hotel is right on the Soco River. There is a lovely veranda area to sit and watch the water. To me, it's still the best part of the hotel's experience. There is a Starbucks just steps away to help further enhance the tranquil moments on the veranda. Would I come back to this Harrah's if I had a choice? Probably, because it's not that far away from my home, but I would pass on staying at Creek Tower. As long as I could enjoy the veranda and drink coffee by the river after gambling away a few dollars, I...
Read moreI don’t know who’s running this Google’s page but the responses they have to people are genuinely hilarious but at the same time so very complexly rude. I took the liberty to drive six hours to this casino as it was on the list of casinos to come by and give a reading since I am a seven stars member. This is probably one of the worst casinos in terms of gaming experiences. rule number one as a gambler you should know to never touch slots, especially if you’re really trying to make a profit. Their slots really are terrible and I put about 3000 into one and never got a single bonus or line pay that being said. Let’s move onto the table, Games. I am a big fan of table games. I feel that they should be played and they should be appreciated. I do not like my card games being dealt out of electronic shoes. That is a personal preference I feel there is too much going on inside of that shoe. I prefer the standard plastic that’s closed off. In terms of pure gaming experiences they raise the limits on busy nights because they want to squeeze you out of everything you have my trip. Here was not enjoyable. I go to a casino knowing there’s a large chance that I will lose money. What I chase after is that feeling of adrenaline and rush when you actually lose more because I have money to spend and I do not care. The dealers are all filled with stinky attitudes and some of them do not even know the rules of the own games they are dealing, I noticed this casino opened up because they have their own sets of rules in the local political landscape. It was like that for a very long time which allowed them to grow at such a level in size at which they are now this casino and the surrounding properties are all trying to suck you dry from what it feels like it is a beautiful property in the way that they decorate and have constructed architecturally, but for the pure gamers heart and gambler this is not for you if you want a fun vacation or you know you’re going to end up losing come here and waste some time for the gamer who is chasing that rush and trying to have a great time, this is...
Read moreI have to say this was a great experience. Every employee I dealt with was nothing but polite and exceptional with helping others understand how things work or giving you directions. They were all very helpful no matter what the circumstances were. I had a great time playing in the casino and the rooms were nice and quiet for the most part. Plenty of towels and essentials were provided. A jacuzzi tub was in our room with a king size bed and a loveseat that also made a bed and 2 chairs with a table. The bathroom was very roomy and the tub was plenty large enough for one person to sit and soak with or without the jacuzzi part running. The room was very clean. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable and clean. The place is pretty user friendly. Elevators were good but different than I’ve ever used but only in a sense that it has better security. You have to use your hotel room card in the elevator to gain access to any of the upper floors so that aids in preventing unauthorized access to people who aren’t staying in a room. They had many options in the casino with plenty of games to choose from, something for everyone most definitely. The one downside about the stay was about the smoking rooms. You could smell the reefer pretty bad, somewhat annoying really. It was mainly in the hallways, I don’t really notice it inside my room. Don’t choose the smoking side if you don’t want to smell reefer or cigarette smoke. I’m sure the non smoking rooms are much better. You should expect those smells though when you choose a smoking room I suppose. As a bonus suggestion, the service button on the gambling machines do not work. You have to insert your rewards member car into the game and choose the slot service option if you have an issue. Overall great experience and great entertainment and definitely recommend and I will definitely be back soon for another get away...
