After reviewing a couple of options online I chose this hotel based off of the pictures online of the very clean and spacious room. This is exactly what my family could enjoy while visiting for a BMX National.
When we first arrived I was immediately greeted by a group of strung out ladies who must have gotten dressed in a hurry. I came to this conclusion based on the little clothes they were wearing. Always a great way to be greeted with three children in the car. After making my way into the lobby to check in it was nice to see no one standing at the counter to check me in. Instead there was a massive pile of junk and boxes that are there to let you know the best is still to come. After about 12 minutes of saying “Hello” I was greeted by a young man. He was very polite and handed me my key cards. I drove over to the building where I room was located completely unprepared for the obstacle I was going to need to navigate. I backed into the parking spot as I always do because of the bike rack we have for the kids bikes. As I stepped up on the curb I was greeted by animal feces all around the gravel rocks they effortless spread as landscaping. To my surprise this wasn’t the only pile of crap there. No this was one pile among many piles of crap we hand to dodge like land mines strategically placed all over as if to guard anyone from gaining entry. I know what you’re thinking, just use the sidewalk. Guess what, more crap. It was a fitting welcome for what we had ahead.
After our American ninja warrior audition dodging crap everywhere we finally made it to our room. As I opened the door I was punched in the face with the smell of a dog. Not a well kept family dog. One that probably hasn’t seen shampoo or clean water for most or all of its life. (It is important to note that I love dogs! We have two ourselves and understand they should be able to enjoy family trips too!). As we walking into a very spacious suite I was really confused as to what pictures they used for there website. It couldn’t have been the room I was staying in. My room had chunks of carpet missing, dog hair all over the couch, and in the bed. There was noticeable pet dandruff to accent the hair just to make sure you knew they did nothing to prepare for your stay.
I could go on for ours about the issues that this dumpster of a place has but I know your time is valuable. Take this from a dad who travels the country racing BMX with his kids. DON’T...
My husband checked in for business 2 weeks ago. Within 2 hours of checking in he had a female worker from the hotel just open the door with a male guest. Luckily he had the dead bolt on but she didn’t knock or announce herself.
When he opened the door she said that the male guest who was with her stayed in the room the night before left his glasses in the room so she was bringing him up to check. This was the same front desk person who checked me in just 2 hours prior.
When I reached out to the front desk staff the next morning since my key was deactivated they advised it was a huge mistake and would talk to the GM about it.
2 days later I still don’t have any news, asked to speak with her and they said she comes in 10-2pm then found out this was incorrect and she was avoiding the conversation. The front desk staff kept saying my room number out loud and my last name which is a safety concern in the hotel industry. She offered some points and her own front desk staff said this was low considering the safety risk and experience and advised me to call Marriott bonvoy.
Called Marriott and put in a complaint which was closed within 1 hour for “failure to contact” when they had my email and number since It was in my reservation, on the complaint and my Marriott account. They said the GM closed it.
I also called the hotel to follow up because the points promised were still not loaded. And today even after speaking to them last week they still aren’t loaded
Being in the hotel industry there are a few things that raised a red flag for me.
If she thought the prior guests glasses were still in my room how confident is she in their housekeeping that they would still be left in the room
What was she doing bringing a male guest up to my room
Hotel staff is supposed to knock and announce themselves before entering a room she did not do either
She did not use a master key and deactivated my key to bring this male guest to my room.
They should not announce room numbers in the lobby this is a safety concern.
Overall would not book again. I wouldn’t write a review except it’s clear the GM is avoiding this situation and is clearing it out and not addressing the concern. Disappointed in the handling and the safety of...
Read moreThe good: The front desk lady was very nice. The room was clean. The pillows were soft. The pool was warm enough to walk into with options for grilling.
Appears to be pretty user friendly for the disabled population, however no place to sit outside for disabled smokers.
Castles and coasters and Super Walmart are straight across the I-17.
The bad: The main bed was a bit hard for my taste. I have back issues so I didn't sleep well.
The pull-out couch mattress was a chiropractor's dream! My teens (both 13) slept on it and both woke up knowing what it feels like to be 50 with back issues. It was hard, had a bit of a sag to it and a couple of Springs that poked them throughout the night leaving them to wake up with shoulder pain. Remember these are 13 year old girls, so if you're an adult? Awful!
The bathroom fan did not work & the light was out over the stove top ( which mattered because we wanted to use it as a night light.)
We had a late check-in around 8:30 p.m. the day of the Microsoft issue around the world. We came by Uber and did not have any drinks with us. I went to the front lobby to buy a Pepsi and all they had was Mountain dew.(pic)
Their credit card terminals were still down & I had 0 cash on me. I asked if she could bill a soda to the room and she said she could not. Under the circumstances I felt she should have made some sort of accommodation, especially since there wasn't any stores close by I ended up having to go to SpringHill Suites Nextdoor.
Breakfast: grab n go optiond in the morning. Hot breakfast next door at SpringHill Suites.
When I went into the kitchen in the a.m. it appeared there was only a juice machine, wrapped bagels & English muffins. No one was in there.(pics)
You need a vehicle to stay here as the nearest gas station/ corner store is a 13 minute walk.
Castles and coasters/ Super Walmart is a 1 mi walk along the canal. Even though it's right across the Interstate there's not a straight path to get there. This is an older part of the valley, higher crime area,( 0-60th Avenues) so definitely wouldn't be walking around at night, walking along the canal or to the closest gas station. Definitely take an...
