First, this place is locked down like Fort Knox. You can't reach the hotel desk without calling in via phone so that they can unlock the door remotely for check in and out. (This means that you are waiting out in the elements until someone picks up and it was darn chilly when we came by at 12am and 6:30am.) Second, they put us in the wrong room (only 1 bed), although they corrected it the following day, yet we received no discount for mistakenly receiving the smaller room. Third, the hard surface floors in the rooms were filthy. If we walked around without socks or shoes, the bottoms of our feet would turn black with grime. I had to scrub my feet and my 1-year-olds then remember to keep our socks and/or shoes on the entire stay. (Yikes!) Fourth, the free continental breakfast is just a hot pot of coffee, stale mini muffins, and instant packets of oatmeal with coffee cups for you to prepare yourself back in your room. --Also, the "breakfast" is only accessible the same way as check-in, by waiting outside for remote permission to enter. Fifth, 2.5 days after leaving the hotel/city for our long weekend there (for a family funeral), we start to see mystery charges on my bank card at the Whataburger a few minutes up the street for the day that we had flown out (we left very early in the morning). Almost $100 worth in a single day. We never ate there. Then I remember that the ONLY human being I physically handed my bank card to for the entire, brief trip was the overnight desk clerk (female, Latina, middle-aged, long black hair, gravelly voice) during check-in at this hotel, who knew we were there due to a funeral --which makes all this especially heinous, in my opinion. I still have my bank card, yet someone has my numbers and info. My bank could confirm they purchased the Whataburger meals online, which means someone was able to do it by just entering in my card data without handing over a card in person (Whataburger website or the Whata App) . So, that narrows down the window of theft opportunity very quickly to ESA-Phoenix - E Oak St. staff. When I called ESA Corp. guest relations, the rep barely spoke English; he couldn't understand what I was trying to explain, and after a lengthy wait and some unprofessional sighing aloud, he hung up on me. Absolutely amazing. Just an incredibly bad experience with this hotel chain and location. We have submitted a web complaint to corporate and a fraud report to our bank. It's such a headache canceling the card and updating every bill/subscription attached to it. Dealing with all of this on top of our family's loss is deeply disturbing and Extended Stay America should be ashamed of the service failures we have encountered at every stage of this mess. Given our experience, we strongly recommend finding a better, safer, more trustworthy place to stay. To be clear, we stayed at the ESA-Phoenix Airport-E Oak St location from January 13, 2024 to January 15, 2024. We will not make this mistake again. If you stay at this hotel location anyway, best of luck to you and monitor your bank account for days afterward, especially if ESA corporate doesn't bother to investigate the staff. We haven't heard from anyone there yet, so I tend to think they don't care what's happened. You have...

I think that tells you everything you...
Read moreIf I could give this Extended Stay 25 Stars, I would. I have been here since October 2021 and I can call this place my Home. The Staff here is absolutely on another level of amazement. Leslie, Loni, Jared, Mike, Kendra and the entire staff are the most wonderful people you could ever hope to meet. They are so sweet, friendly and kind and go personally out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as possible and will accommodate you with everything you could ever hope for. They also take the time to personally get to know you so you feel like you’re a friend and true guest and not a reservation statistic like other places. The Staff immediately takes care of anything you need and are truly the most amazing people I am blessed to know. The Property is in a great location with everything around within walking distance with public transportation right outside the Front Door! The Rooms are in impeccable shape and are supplied with everything you need. The WiFi is awesome||and the Dish Network TV is a great touch. The Kitchen is fully equipped and the furniture and condition of the Room is outstanding. Kendra and the Housekeeping Staff do an incredible job and go the extra mile when making sure your Room is clean and always in top condition. Kendra always makes my day whenever I say hello to her because she’s so wonderful. Jared does such absolutely outstanding work in Maintenance and is such a great person to know and work with. He is also such an amazing asset to the Hotel and goes well beyond the call of service, friendship and professionalism. Leslie, Loni and Mike at the Front Desk are just unbelievable and so wonderful to work with because they personally go above and beyond in addressing any issues, making sure you have anything you need and are there at moment’s notice to ensure you are comfortable and happy at all times. Every time I interact with the Staff, my day always gets better because of how good they make me feel about anything and everything. I have been honored, privileged and blessed to call this place my Home and would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that anyone who needs to stay for 1 night or 1,000 can take pride in knowing that their Stay here will be the best choice they could ever make. The value you get for your Stay here and what is all included cannot be beat especially with how ludicrous other places are and how out of control rent is right now from rampant inflation and never-ending COVID. This Extended Stay is where you and your loved ones can feel at home and can truly call this place Home. The Staff here will treat you like Family and loved ones too, and that’s the difference that sets this place above all the rest and in another league of their own. Extended Stay is my Home and should be...
