A majority of the front desk staff was rude first off. The AGM wrongly assumed my debit card from Ally bank was a prepaid card after I hit the wrong button while paying one week which caused my card to decline, so she had the front desk staff continue to harass me every week I paid. Ally doesn't offer prepaid cards, unlike more well known banks like Wells Fargo and Bank of America. The room didn't have a microwave when I checked in and I had to go down to the front desk 3 times over 2 days to get it replaced. Because the front desk person didn't put in a work order, which I assume she thought wouldn't know since the maintenance person and her were speaking in Spanish. The couch in the room wasn't the couch that was supposed to be there. It was a blue cloth one, not the brown fake leather ones in the other rooms. So much for that 10-point cleaning plan touted on their stickers, website, and everything else. Makes me wonder what else wasn't cleaned properly if they didn't notice the microwave was missing and the couch was swapped. Not surprising when some days they only had one housekeeper trying to clean every room that was scheduled. The floor was stained and disgusting. The night latch on the door was barely held on. The shower head wasn't mounted properly and the bathroom door wouldn't close fully. I asked to speak to the GM, but she never called me. They don't care cause according to them a bulk of their clients are ghetto and they need to be more forceful when dealing with them. Yes, a staff member said that to me, when I complained about the front desk staff's attitudes. I take that to mean their usual clients are poor so they deserve to be treated like dirt and there's nobody saying otherwise so why treat anyone with respect, because if you're staying at this location you must be too poor to be treated like a person. I've stayed at other locations within this brand and NEVER had a bad experience before usually, the staff gets a glowing review from me. This one is HORRIBLE and so are the staff at the front desk (for the most part). The housekeepers and maintenance were nice and professional. I honestly doubt I will ever stay at another one of these properties again.

I recently moved from Minnesota to Phoenix and faced challenges finding housing, so I opted for an extended stay, expecting a similar experience to the hotels back in Minnesota—nice rooms, free hot breakfast, and decent amenities. Unfortunately, this place was a huge letdown. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was off. The manager Vivian consistently displayed a rude, entitled attitude, as if she was doing me a favor by allowing me to stay there. Every interaction was negative, and she clearly lacks any sense of customer service. I avoided her as much as possible because she strikes me as the type who would retaliate if confronted. The property itself is falsely advertised. There is no breakfast or gym, contrary to their claims. The rooms are subpar with trash left behind, beds with holes, and an overall dirty environment. The staff is shockingly uninformed about basic hotel operations and frequently passed the buck when I asked questions. Their reservation system is a scam; the price I booked online never matched what they charged me, and they refused to honor the lower price. The worst part was when I had an ancestry kit delivered to the front office. USPS confirmed delivery, but it magically disappeared. Clearly, there's a theft issue, and no one took accountability. I stayed here from October to February, trying to save and rebuild my credit. The only silver lining was the $50 per night rate I paid, but even that felt too high given the filth, incompetence, and prison yard-like environment. It’s filled with sketchy characters, and the drama is constant. If you enjoy feeling unsafe and being treated poorly by management, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, avoid this place at all costs! The only decent people were the new girl Jessica? I think and the other girl christina. The rag photos are when I first moved in and cleaned the kitchen and bathroom floors. Dont get me started on the mold in the bathroom

I’m normally a fan of Extended Stay hotels. Like, I choose them more often than not. I even lived in one for a month when I moved out of state.I’ll likely never stay at this one again (without a MAJOR renovation) regardless of how affordable and close to the airport it is. Smoke free rooms are a joke. Not only are there burns in the sink, there was actual cigarette ash on the floor in the bathroom. The room REEKS of smoke. It’s awful. I’m allergic to tobacco and I’m so stuffy I can barely breathe. Sleeping is going to be tough. The room is really run down and just honestly, gross. Don’t get me wrong, I understand how hard it is to keep up a budget hotel this size, but I don’t want to take my shoes off to get in bed. The top of the fridge has never been cleaned and it’s not like it’s a full size fridge. I’m 5’4” and can see the top just fine. The carpet is stained. The cabinets are dirty. The laminate is peeling from every surface. The remote doesn’t work so I can’t even use the TV. The phone is missing half its buttons. Gnats in the room so I’m scared to look in all the cabinets and drawers. AC works so that’s a plus for PHX (although turning it off has helped with the smoke smell). There were no bath towels…like what? The shampoo bottle had ash on it as well, so what? Is it the housekeeper smoking in the rooms? I tried to change rooms and the front desk said they were “fully booked” but I could go book a room tonight on their website. So what is it? Fully booked or not? Lots of negatives unfortunately. I wouldn’t have given it zero though even if I could. They do get one star because front desk staff was really nice, so there’s that. But overall, I’m super disappointed. Not worth the price I paid AT ALL.

First, this place is locked down like Fort Knox. You can't reach the hotel desk without calling in via phone so that they can unlock the door remotely for check in and out. (This means that you are waiting out in the elements until someone picks up and it was darn chilly when we came by at 12am and 6:30am.) Second, they put us in the wrong room (only 1 bed), although they corrected it the following day, yet we received no discount for mistakenly receiving the smaller room. Third, the hard surface floors in the rooms were filthy. If we walked around without socks or shoes, the bottoms of our feet would turn black with grime. I had to scrub my feet and my 1-year-olds then remember to keep our socks and/or shoes on the entire stay. (Yikes!) Fourth, the free continental breakfast is just a hot pot of coffee, stale mini muffins, and instant packets of oatmeal with coffee cups for you to prepare yourself back in your room. --Also, the "breakfast" is only accessible the same way as check-in, by waiting outside for remote permission to enter. Fifth, 2.5 days after leaving the hotel/city for our long weekend there (for a family funeral), we start to see mystery charges on my bank card at the Whataburger a few minutes up the street for the day that we had flown out (we left very early in the morning). Almost $100 worth in a single day. We never ate there. Then I remember that the ONLY human being I physically handed my bank card to for the entire, brief trip was the overnight desk clerk (female, Latina, middle-aged, long black hair, gravelly voice) during check-in at this hotel, who knew we were there due to a funeral --which makes all this especially heinous, in my opinion. I still have my bank card, yet someone has my numbers and info. My bank could confirm they purchased the Whataburger meals online, which means someone was able to do it by just entering in my card data without handing over a card in person (Whataburger website or the Whata App) . So, that narrows down the window of theft opportunity very quickly to ESA-Phoenix - E Oak St. staff. When I called ESA Corp. guest relations, the rep barely spoke English; he couldn't understand what I was trying to explain, and after a lengthy wait and some unprofessional sighing aloud, he hung up on me. Absolutely amazing. Just an incredibly bad experience with this hotel chain and location. We have submitted a web complaint to corporate and a fraud report to our bank. It's such a headache canceling the card and updating every bill/subscription attached to it. Dealing with all of this on top of our family's loss is deeply disturbing and Extended Stay America should be ashamed of the service failures we have encountered at every stage of this mess. Given our experience, we strongly recommend finding a better, safer, more trustworthy place to stay. To be clear, we stayed at the ESA-Phoenix Airport-E Oak St location from January 13, 2024 to January 15, 2024. We will not make this mistake again. If you stay at this hotel location anyway, best of luck to you and monitor your bank account for days afterward, especially if ESA corporate doesn't bother to investigate the staff. We haven't heard from anyone there yet, so I tend to think they don't care what's happened. You have...

If I could give this Extended Stay 25 Stars, I would. I have been here since October 2021 and I can call this place my Home. The Staff here is absolutely on another level of amazement. Leslie, Loni, Jared, Mike, Kendra and the entire staff are the most wonderful people you could ever hope to meet. They are so sweet, friendly and kind and go personally out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as possible and will accommodate you with everything you could ever hope for. They also take the time to personally get to know you so you feel like you’re a friend and true guest and not a reservation statistic like other places. The Staff immediately takes care of anything you need and are truly the most amazing people I am blessed to know. The Property is in a great location with everything around within walking distance with public transportation right outside the Front Door! The Rooms are in impeccable shape and are supplied with everything you need. The WiFi is awesome||and the Dish Network TV is a great touch. The Kitchen is fully equipped and the furniture and condition of the Room is outstanding. Kendra and the Housekeeping Staff do an incredible job and go the extra mile when making sure your Room is clean and always in top condition. Kendra always makes my day whenever I say hello to her because she’s so wonderful. Jared does such absolutely outstanding work in Maintenance and is such a great person to know and work with. He is also such an amazing asset to the Hotel and goes well beyond the call of service, friendship and professionalism. Leslie, Loni and Mike at the Front Desk are just unbelievable and so wonderful to work with because they personally go above and beyond in addressing any issues, making sure you have anything you need and are there at moment’s notice to ensure you are comfortable and happy at all times. Every time I interact with the Staff, my day always gets better because of how good they make me feel about anything and everything. I have been honored, privileged and blessed to call this place my Home and would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that anyone who needs to stay for 1 night or 1,000 can take pride in knowing that their Stay here will be the best choice they could ever make. The value you get for your Stay here and what is all included cannot be beat especially with how ludicrous other places are and how out of control rent is right now from rampant inflation and never-ending COVID. This Extended Stay is where you and your loved ones can feel at home and can truly call this place Home. The Staff here will treat you like Family and loved ones too, and that’s the difference that sets this place above all the rest and in another league of their own. Extended Stay is my Home and should be...
