I work in this part of Ohio for 6 to 8 weeks a year, I use Choice hotels all the time and I stay at Comfort inn, Piketon for at least a week every year. I normally stay away from the review scene but I felt the need to write a review tonight. I just want to say that the housekeeping staff are absolutely amazing, my room is always clean upon check in, and throughout my stay. I checked in late last night so the 3rd shift front desk lady was sooooo helpful, super friendly, absolutely one of the best I have ever dealt with, literally a angel. Well I was very happy until tonight and when I walked in and the 2nd shift front desk worker was standing behind her work station and after my wife and I say hi to her and literally she never said a word, then it hit my wife and I, we remember this lady from last year, she is absolutely the most hateful hospitality worker I have ever dealt with in the 35 states I have traveled to, I suppose the straw that broke the camels back was when my wife and I was setting at the picnic tables by the pool smoking and talking quietly she felt the need to come just outside the door and yelled at us telling us that the pool was closed, (we was fully dressed and 40 feet from the pool and we had not been in or near the pool) and told us we had to leave the area, SO let's get this straight we can't set at the tables which have ashtrays provided on them and smoke at 10:30pm ?? And does this hateful woman have such a power trip that she has to yell to tell us to leave ?? Apparently So !!! I get it, if we were being loud and disorderly or drunk, YES, tell us to leave, no problem but we were setting relaxing after a 12 hour day in the sun and got yelled at like a herd of cows. Bottom line is this woman has no business being in hospitality, I have been treated better by workers at $30 a night hooker hotels, and just last week the Quality Inn 25 minutes north in Chillicothe OH, we set beside their pool until 2am smoking and talking and the night clerk even came out and talked to us for a few minutes, exactly the way a friendly person would have. I stay in hotels 20 to 25 nights a month and never have I ran into someone like this lady. So if you have to stay here just avoid the 2nd shift woman, with grey hair and glasses, and everyone else is...
Read moreMy family arrived late on Friday night, we had booked three rooms and were spending two nights. I put my luggage into my room, noticed it had a very bad odor, but contributed that to hot weather and there was no air circulating in the room. I had to leave my room for a short time, when I returned the smell was still appalling, very strong cigarette smell. I called the front desk and the clerk offered to bring up a can of air freshener. When she arrived I invited her in to smell the room and she said that was not necessary, she knew it had a cigarette smoke odor. I explained to her that my husband and I both had breathing problems and we would like to change rooms. I then had to follow her back to the front desk and she proceeded to call the general manager. He said we could change rooms from our king room to a double (they would not offer an empty king room to us because we booked for two nights), but because the bathroom facilities were used, we would have to pay for the double room too because they would not be able to rent out the king room we were in that night (keep in mind it is already after midnight). We did not have the extra money in our budget to pay for another room so we were forced to stay in the smelly room. We were told a clean air machine would be used in our room while we were out the next day, but that did not happen. In addition to the smell of the room, when we returned Saturday evening, housekeeping had not done anything to the rooms. I had to stop by the front desk and get fresh towels for our rooms. I was told that housekeeping did not work that day and the owner was busy with his family, so the rooms went untouched by housekeeping.
I have never been treated so poorly in a hotel as I...
Read moreWorst Comfort Inn experience we've ever had. My wife woke up with 18--yes EIGHTEEN different bug bites on her body (to include her FACE). We found two bugs that we first thought were TICKS, but turned out to be BED BUGS. We have numerous pictures of both of the bugs as well as the bite marks. We even had to clean our own refrigerator when we arrived! In addition to all of this, how our situation was handled by the management was beyond ridiculous. Tammy and Diane at the front desk were wonderful; it was the ever-elusive "management" that is the problem. ||My wife and I travel extensively for both business and leisure, and all I have to say about this hotel cannot be contained here. We’ve been in 8 different states in just the last few weeks alone. We were in town for a funeral because a friend's son was tragically killed in an accident, and the ONLY reason we chose this hotel is because it was seven minutes away from the funeral home where we were going to be. I realize that the hotel houses a number of hunters, fishermen, etc., but that doesn't excuse how filthy it is and the rudeness of the "management" in handling our situation. They also charged us WEEKEND rates for two of our WEEKNIGHT stays.||There is more to the story but this is essentially the thrust of it all. We received no apologies. No concern for our well-being. Only attacks on our character and a refusal to negotiate anything further. Avoid this hotel at all costs and stay in Chillicothe or another...
