The two receptionists working when I checked in were extremely rude and unprofessional. The gentleman named Jim looked at me like I didn't belong there while I held my one year old and asked for extra towels. He decided to first interrogate me asking what i was using the towels for and asking if I knew the difference between using the towels for pool purposes and showering. Then threw a fit because he had to go get me towels and made me wait five minutes while he wrote down my information before giving me the towels. I then asked about their breakfast and mentioned it stated when I booked the room that they offered free breakfast and before I could finish speaking he cut me off and said 'No. We don't do that here.' and I tried to explain to him but he wouldn't listen to me and again just cut me off stating that they don't offer that. I left and came back up later having pulled up my account and showed it to him and he argued that that was only for Gold Members and that I wasn't one to which I responded, 'I am a Gold member sir.' he asked for my room number and looked up my account and then proceeded to yell at me that I should have told him that the first time. No sir, the girl that checked me in should have seen I was gold and had this done for me but she was too concerned with her phone and wanted me out of the way she basically just threw my key cards at me and shooed me away. Then on the third night I stayed my downstairs neighbor complained of my kids making noise when they were sitting down watching a movie eating snacks. One of the girls came down and lets us know, very polite about it, no problem, so we left for a few hours even though it wasn't us making noise. We come back a few hours later and are greeted by a different receptionist asking if we're the ones in the room above this guy and we say yes. She then proceeds to bicker at my husband saying they've been receiving complaints from this guy the past few hours about how loud we're being and he's calling in every few minutes to yell at them to which I informed her sorry but we haven't even been in the room the past few hours. She says, "Well whoever you let into your room after you left is making a lot of noise." Um no. Excuse me but we haven't been here and didn't let anyone in our room. She tells us ok but we need to keep it down. My husband went to put our daughter to bed and is hearing the noise too so I go up and tell the girl and she starts rolling her eyes at me while I'm talking and says no, the guy said the noise was coming from our room directly above his and starts arguing with me rolling her eyes and playing with her hair. I say ok get her name (Liz) and go back down to my room telling her not to bother us the rest of the night and she says sorry that's my job. Oooook.

Only good thing about this stay is the restaurant staff. The girls that waited on us for breakfast were extremely nice. The food was delicious. Props to the cooks and the restaurant staff!

Update: I spoke with the manager this morning at check out and he was extremely nice! Very understanding and apologetic. I do hope he actually speaks with his employees and I hope they aren't this rude to other guests.

Update 2: Nothing ever came of this. I got a canned response to this review. The manager said he'd comp me some points and never...

I would leave zero stars if possible. The hotel is okay. But the staff is nightmares! I stayed there more than a week ago and my bank won’t release the deposit hold without a hold release letter. I understand that is the bank causing the issue but the staff at Hilton Garden Inn Pismo Beach is giving me no support! They give me excuse after excuse after excuse as to why they can’t provide this document for me… it’s simple information that needs to be emailed to my bank but the staff is too lazy to make an effort to provide it for me. It would take five minutes to type this email to my bank but they won’t do it. I was transferred five separate times and even transferred to someone who no longer works there. A hotel is supposed to provide hospitality and this hotel has NONE! They are rude and act like they think they’re better than others…. And the hotel is just okay. It stinks because of all the renovations going on. It’s difficult to find your room in relation to parking. Breakfast is overpriced. I will never stay here again - and I go to the area every couple weeks for a few days. God forbid this staff actually inquires what info is needed instead of telling me no. They are the reason my money was held in the first place - they should be willing to help me access it again. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY! The Oxford Suites are priced very similar and a ton nicer than this joke of a property. Even Casa Grande Inn and Hampton Inn is nicer than this… don’t waste your money at a place that doesn’t appreciate the business they receive.

Update: The response posted from the property is done electronically. They don’t actually give a crap about a bad review. I attempted to contact them again and they didn’t have a different response from the first time. They will not help me get my deposit released from my bank. It’s been almost thirty days. I will never stay at this hotel again and I urge everyone else to stay away also. Take your business where they will appreciate you -...

OH NO. JUST NO. I am a Hilton Honors member and stay at Hiltons ALL the time and this, by FAR is the worst Hilton I have had the grievous displeasure to stay at. My complaints are long and hit nearly every aspect of the hospitality experience from HORRIBLE customer service to beds that are impossible to get a good night's sleep in. Complaints are too lengthy for a simple review so I'll only go into depth on those as they stand out as MOST noteworthy and reasons to avoid.

The staff truly must detest their jobs and it shows. Namely, Nikala and other front desk staff who can't care less about you as a guest and the extra mile for them seems like a shrug and "OH WELL, THATS TOO BAD." And it wasn't just one run in with staff where an unfortunate scenario like no coffee was shrugged off as our problem with a smirk and no suggestions or directions to where we might find some, it was every. single. interaction. That girl and her crew need serious customer experience training and maybe smile training while you're at it. Made us feel bad for the struggle of staying there!

Also, no "do not disturb signs" were weird and no clear process really to signal it. We told the bored guy at the desk, and he scribbled it on a random piece of paper. i noted other guests all the way down the hallway had made their own makeshift notes and jammed them in the doors. weird.

the beds! oof! hard as a plank of plywood. stay here if you like waking up several times a night thinking good lord, i need to check out of here tomorrow but you know you're in it now and will probably just stay it out. with a stiff neck and tired as hell. Terrible!

The location is pretty close to the beach so that was good but steer clear of this Hilton, just not...

Our favorite Pismo Beach Hotel—Hilton Garden Hills 🏝️ Just three minutes from shopping and dining at Pismo Beach Premium Outlets, and less than two miles from the Pismo Beach Pier. From the moment we arrived, everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail—making us feel truly cared for. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed, with little touches of luxury that made the stay extra special. The amenities were top-notch—whether it was relaxing by the pool, gym, or dining at their restaurant, every experience was flawless. Breakfast was a dream: fresh, delicious, and with plenty of variety. What stood out the most was the atmosphere. Everything felt calm, elegant, and designed to make guests feel pampered. This isn’t just a hotel, it’s an experience. I would recommend it a thousand times over and can’t wait to book my next stay! ✨ #travel #tiktokgo #pismobeach #hotels #pismo

Would not stay here again. All marketing lists a hotub, no hotub. Faucet plugs and handles lift off of their base. Toilet leaks. Cleaning crew has not changed the towels 3 of the 5 days I've been here. The used and wet towels left on the floor to soak up leaky toilet have been folded and hung back up. Last night of stay, 8:30 PM on a weeknight a large group of young high school students showed up on my floor (2) and were extremely disruptive. Running along the hallways and yelling. Cursing and opening/closing doors repeatedly. I called desk who informed me they had a chaperone and asked I wait to see if they would quiet down, I agreed. That is until the students started knocking on my door ~9:45pm I opened and gave the students a lesson on etiquette. Asked where their chaperone was, I was informed the chaperone was on floor 4. Not even on the same floor as the noisy and disruptive students. No paying patrons should be subjected to this. I may expect it at a more inexpensive or less used motel. Not a chain hotel in a mid to high end area with constant professional traffic. Serious disappointment. You have been warned. Edit: And the fridge temp is not adjustable and the bed is awful. The breakfast is decent, and the staff their and in the bar are also kind and helpful. The Keurig machine, location, and kitchen staff were the good experiences.

Not a nice hotel. It’s built into a hill. The rooms on the one side of the hotel are probably very nice. However on the cliff side of the building they built a 20-30 foot concrete retaining wall and that wall is 5-6 feet from your window. It’s like a bad walk out basement failure. My room smelled like mildew so I left the window open while I went to dinner. When I returned my room smelled heavily of mold. After looking outside my window, I found they had wooden pallets with cardboard loosely covered with a tarp, stored all along the wall by the guest rooms windows. It all contained mold. For the rest of the night my room smelled like mold and mildew. People walked by window at all hours and it’s just generally unpleasant. More like a Motel 6 than a Hilton. The front desk clerk was texting when I arrived and texted the entire time she checked me in. Just a bad experience. I will not return and I’m considering using a different hotel altogether for work travel. The photos you see are the moldy boxes outside my window. FYI you have to keep your window closed like in the picture because people can look down into your room or walk by at eye level.
