1/11/2019 Update - I submitted an inquiry with AmEx concerning the misleading menu and the extra $5.40 charge last week. Even though it wasn't much but it is not ethical. I am glad to say that AmEx agreed with me and will be crediting me back the $5.40.
We came here for dinner 11.22.2018, they were busy on Thanksgiving. We waited 15 to 20 minutes to be seated and noticed they were slow to attend to customers.. this was okay for me. However our food was still missing after 50 minutes from ordering and 2 large parties after us had already begin to had their food, I asked the waitress what happen to our order? The waitress check and begin to ignore our table and avoid eye contact... we sat right outside as they come out for service, so they have to walk in front of me every time they go in and out of the kitchen.. when I approached the waitress again, she was rude and lied to me that they are cooking out food. 10 minutes later, still no food.. I asked her again, she said they are cooking in the order of when it was taken.. but I said the 2 large parties already have their food and we had ordered ahead of them.. she was rude and check the kitchen again... at which time, they started cooking our food.. If you forgot, then tell us you forgot. Don't lie to us and be rude to your customers. Also be careful when ordering Seafood, their menu is deceiving, Look at their menu attached, I thought Seafood was $13,95 but my check came to 18.95 after correction. The same waitress said, you can only have 1 item, any additional is added...
Read moreThis rating is for all around experience here. As soon as I walked through the door I heard a woman say, "How can I help you?". Then 6 get in again she asked the same thing. As I got to where she was at the counter she asked again.. rapid fire! I leaned toward her and as I looked around me I said, "I want to eat!"... she said, "by yourself?" Looking around me confused I said, "yes... is that strange"? She walked away from me and I sat down. When I was ready to order I asked her about the Yellow Curry and if I were to order the mix vegetable instead of chicken or other meat what vegetables are used??? She said peppers, onion and potatoes (which is what already comes in it) so I asked again what other vegetables??? I don't think she understood my question and she assumed that was what I wanted. I ordered Sticky rice also. The curry was mediocre and the vegetables where big chunks and hardly cooked. The sticky rice was soooo sticky I couldn't get it to seperate. It was not good. Then my friend showed up and ordered Mongolian Beef. It was not really that tasty. I definitely will not return. To me service is very important and of course the food. At least the vegetables in the Mongolian Beef where cut thin and cooked through. Raw potatoes are not very good tasting. And with my eating issues I paid $20.00 for food I really could not eat.
Even my friend commented on the servers stern and unfriendly demeanor... this is why we read reviews...
Read moreI am going to be up-front, and inform everyone reading this that I did NOT eat at Sunset Thai. To be completely honest, after seeing the menu, I could not bring myself to order. When you see a restaurant billed as a "Thai" restaurant (even more so if the word 'Thai'is in the restaurant's name), you EXPECT it to actually be a Thai restaurant. However, in looking at the menu, it is anything but. In fact, there are so few Thai items, that I can't even understand how could they could have included the word 'Thai' in the restaurant's name. The vast majority of the menu is actually made up of a misplaced 'mishmash' of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and other Asian food, even picking out any true Thai dishes is near-impossible.
Now, if the place had been called "Sunset Asian Restaurant", I would have completely agreed, and probably would have eaten here. I was so looking forward to Thai food...but, upon seeing the menu, the only thing I could bring myself to do was to turn around, and walk out in extreme...
