I had my wedding here this past Friday. 6/25/21 Do Not Ever have a Wedding at the Woodlands. NEVER!! First off they threw away my custom made aisle paper with our initials our wedding date and a crest they did not ask us if we wanted it they simply threw it away. My rescue flats were stolen 7 out of the box cost. 35.00 for each flat. It's was supposed to be locked up until the next morning for us to receive our belongings of our decorations my frame my antique frame was stolen as well that was part of the 1920s theme and I had an antique looking frame that was stolen my husband's jacket was going to be stolen until we found it in a storage room in between the ballroom and the outside doors and three pairs of my rescue flats were left. I forgot my bouquet I left it behind I called the front desk and the housekeeper either stole them or threw them away so my bouquet was gone. The food was uncooked I had about three people four people tell me that it was uncooked and or awful including myself. It was very unorganized the banquet manager Joe was very rude and disrespectful to all of my wedding party including myself and my husband( before the ceremony too he kept rushing everyone and leaving the door open while I'm trying to get dressed putting my veil on I forgot a few of my special pieces to complete the look -my jewelry) then he was belittling and treating our photographer like a child because she was simply trying to capture our wedding photos and we were missing our cocktail hour. My mother fell in the bathroom because for some odd reason they have a carpet in the bathroom my mother tripped and fell she bruised her arm and she's very sore all over. It was Awful. There were only a few good things out of it. The ceremony was beautiful and Joe did do a few things that were nice, but then he was a jerk, disrespectful at other times. I did receive the email to the general manager because I called and requested it yes it might have been a few days after a wedding but it wasn't like a week or two and I had to gather all this information to email her I emailed her detailed email and she called us and she was totally supporting everyone that was involved she did not investigate it thoroughly and were highly disappointed in this place. She then emails me back and tells me that she cannot give us at least our deposit back which is highly incorrect they're the ones that threw away my aisle paper she could have at least investigated who cleaned the room that we were staying in and simply asked the housekeeper what happened to my bouquet Plus this place has cameras all over!!! and then they could have reimbursed me for that and also the uncooked food the food was awful( besides not everyone is going to complain about the food the same night some people don't want to make a scene so it took a few days to talk to some people and yes some people did not like the food or else their food was uncooked) and my mother falling was most importantly this whole reception was a nightmare. So I will be telling everyone I know Never to get married at The Woodlands or even staying the night here. For the price that you pay here you would thiink it would be more professional. Some people I've already spoken to have heard or experience horrible things about the Woodlands. Please if you read this review do not stay at The Woodlands please do not ever have a wedding ( Your Property gets STOLEN and THROWN Away) also they make you take your decorations or whatever you bring the same night as your party. So, picture this you're in your gown your husband is in a suit you're taking things off the table and nicely putting them away in a bin and every other decoration you brought in the same night as your wedding. I gave this a one because the ceremony, but after that( some before) it was a disaster and a nightmare for my husband and I we saved for this wedding. Do Not Ever Come Here! NEVER! Go to the Poconos like we...

I recently stayed in the Presidential Suite at the Woodlands in Wilkes- Barre. I checked in on Friday 8/30 and stayed until Monday 9/1 with 2 adults. I checked in the night before my wedding and got everything all set up in my room and went to take a hot shower before heading to bed. To my surprise, there was NO hot water! I called down to the front desk and was told many people were experiencing the same issue. I had to take a freezing cold shower and could not relax in the jacuzzi tub that I paid for in my room. I could have saved money by getting a standard room. The only reason I decided to check in early was so I could relax the night before the biggest day of my life! Ok, I didn't have hot water but the beautiful indoor jacuzzi that's shown on the website would surely help me relax. Ha! The jacuzzi didn't even have water in it and it was closed for construction!! Why wasn't that communicated to me prior to booking?! That was a HUGE disappointment and it didn't stop there. You have a popup online that says the outdoor pool is closed for the season, you should have one stating the indoor jacuzzi, pool and shuttle are not operational also. The next morning, I headed down to work out like I always do and the gym was closed down too. I wish I knew that beforehand so I could have at least slept in instead of getting ready to work out. Then, I headed back to my room and I was hoping there would be hot water to shower the morning of my wedding and sure enough the water was only lukewarm. That's not how I wanted to start my big day. Fast forward to the next evening when 6 people wanted to go to the casino to celebrate us being newlyweds. I called down to reserve the shuttle and was told they're no longer providing shuttle service. At this point I was really mad!! Then both of our door cards stopped working and we couldn't get into our unit. Two of my guests decided to extend their stay because they got an offer slid under their door along with two free drinks. The two free drinks couldn't even be used because the resort restaurants were closed the last day of their stay? Why offer two drinks if they can't even use them? My party had 10 rooms with guests all together but the last one booked the week of the wedding so we didn't get the 10% discount. Had I known that the indoor jacuzzi was closed, the gym was closed, there would be no hot water for two days, no shuttle service. I would not have invited the other 18 people to enjoy this "resort" with us. I'm so disappointed on how the morning of my biggest day started and the experience at the woodlands ended. At check out, I was almost charged for an additional day and I had to point out that I'm handing in my keys and shouldn't be charged for the whole day Monday. I ended up getting refunded the $370 or whatever it was. I brought my complaints up to the woman who was checking me out and she didn't acknowledge them because she was irritated with me for pointing out her mistake on my invoice. I'd like to come enjoy the resort when the indoor hot tub is restored but I'm not sure if I'd be willing to pay for another terrible experience. I wouldn't recommend this resort at this time to anyone. It's a shame because this could have been an amazing stay. I really HATE complaining but people need to know how terrible my stay was. If you're looking for a great place to stay, this is not the place for you. I sent an email to the front desk thinking they would try to make things right but they never replied to my email. I'm...
Read moreWe stayed at The Woodlands Inn for an annual birthday celebration the weekend of 11/22-11/24, and unfortunately, our stay was nothing short of a nightmare.
When we arrived on 11/22 at 7 PM, we were shocked to find that there was no power, no heat, and no essential utilities. The hotel was aware of the outage at 12 PM that day, yet they failed to notify any arriving guests. Despite the obvious lack of services, we were not offered any sort of compensation or clear communication regarding the situation.
The first night was unbearable. We didn’t even get to stay in the room we had booked and paid for due to the power outage. To make matters worse, one of our party members was awoken by a carbon monoxide alarm going off in their room. When this issue was reported, instead of contacting the fire department, the management simply told us everything was fine and to go back to bed. Thankfully, the guests themselves called the fire department, who confirmed it was unsafe to return to the rooms. We discovered that the hotel was running three generators inside the building, with fans blowing directly on them — a clear fire hazard and an unfit environment to sleep in. We didn’t get back to bed until around 5 AM.
The following morning, when we raised our concerns, the front desk staff were understanding and tried to accommodate us. However, the owner, “Noble,” was confrontational and rude when we sought reimbursement. Iris at the front desk had initially offered to contact Booking.com for a full refund for the first night we didn’t even get our room, and they offered a reduced rate for the night of 11/23. “Noble” even agreed to this, but when we followed up through Booking.com, the hotel denied our claim and kept the full amount we paid, leaving us with nothing.
The building was in a state of disrepair, with water leaks throughout and buckets catching water in various places. The hot water was already broken prior to the power outage, but again, this was something they didn’t warn guests about beforehand.
Another disturbing incident occurred when we checked out, and we witnessed one of the employees in tears after being threatened with a deduction from her paycheck for doing the right thing and trying to accommodate guests during this terrible situation. We also heard about another guest who had been given a key for a room that was already occupied — further evidence of sloppy management and disorganization.
It’s truly a shame because we had heard great things about this place in the past. However, with the current ownership and management, this place is clearly in decline. We will never recommend The Woodlands Inn to anyone, and we urge you to consider other options. Just up the street is the Mohegan, where they handle customer service much better and take responsibility for their mistakes.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place — document everything if you do choose to stay here. It’s a shame that the new management has brought down what could have been a...
