Well let's start with the positive.. This negative review has nothing to do with the desk staff they were very nice and pleasant to deal with I didn't catch the girls name but she was the best part of the stay and she was very helpful. Let's paint a picture of why I had to deal with the front desk. We get to the hotel about 4:30 or 5 to check in and drop of bags the check in time was at 3 so we figured we were good, as we wait at the desk we hear a conversation to the guest in front of us that his room isn't clean yet because they were booked the previous day and they only have 3 house keepers, I think ok worst case scenario I can leave if our room isn't clean and go hang out with family (the reason for this trip) the guy informed us our rooms were clean and ready to go. We get to our room which is close by my sister and her family and which we thought was cool, then we open our room and we are greeted by a towel right by the entrance that is spread across the floor head into the bathroom, at this point I turn to see the trash full and even fast food bags sitting next to the tash cause its full and last I turn to the bed and see unchanged sheets and a mess of chips or fries? At that point we decided it was time to visit and give the cleaning staff some time to work cause maybe they hadn't hit that room yet as she was 4 rooms away. On the short drive to visit family my wife suggested I call the front desk and let them know the room as still a mess, I made the call which the person at the front looked at a list and said that room has been cleaned I promptly let them know the state of the room and they said they would have someone look at it.. fast forward to 10:30 that night we had done fireworks and partied with family. We get back to our room and hope for a clean room to crash in and open the door to the same exact mess that we left around 5. Now this is when the nice lady who probably deserves a raise comes in to the picture she gets us a room on the other side of the hotel which we are bummed about cause my niece wanted to hang out but at this point we are tired and ready for sleep... Before we step into the next room we are a little paranoid because we aren't sure how thorough the cleaning will be based off how our experience with the last room and also covid is a thing so we bought some cleaning stuff at the store to take some extra precautions, which was good casue the hotel room was kind of gross and apparently the chips mess is a thing in each room and the cleaning wasn't done well just take a look at the pictures. After 45 minutes of spraying and wiping every surface we decided to go to bed which was another adventure because the dead bugs on one of the beds and we took our chances with the other bed and hoped it was clean. After a rough nights sleep we promptly got ready and left the bugs to enjoy the room alone...Very long story short I will not come here again and I would suggest you rethink your plans if you're looking at this as a option of...
Read moreFront desk was disorganized, taking over 20 minutes to allow us to check in (not exaggerating) though I had my reservation confirmation email, and I was the only person being helped since we arrived after 11pm. There are no elevators, two floors, very widespread hotel. Finally got into the room, the bed was not made well. There was just a flat sheet over a rough bunched up mattress pad, and blanket tucked over. The actual mattress was exposed touching all the pillows up top. The room like many in that part of the hotel surrounded an indoor, carpeted area which also housed the swimming pool. It was humid, and had a strong pool smell, poor building design. AC works great. The room itself was semi clean, you could tell table tops, lamps, corners of bathroom, and the remote had not been cleaned. Next morning two people who were cleaning rooms were loudly chit chatting outside rooms at 7am. I told them people were still sleeping. Wi-fi does not work well throughout the hotel because it is so wide, they would be wise to invest in a range booster. I was just loading web pages and pdfs for work not streaming videos. You have to pay for breakfast, I saw the buffet, not impressed. Burger king and Jack in the Box are very close that is a plus. The hostess helping at the buffet had not appropriate for work makeup on. I usually wouldn't care, but it was extreme. She was either a big fan of ICP or she was cosplaying Harley Quinn. I have been to comic-cons where people who are dressed up as characters wore less makeup. One of the maids had speakers playing music that had vulgar language while cleaning instead of using headphones. Both employees demonstrated un-professionalism. Only one man who I assume was a supervisor asked how our night was we told about the beds not being made completely. He apologized and thought either they ran out of fitted sheets and never finished the room and in the future if that situation happened again he would teach the staff to do "military corners". Checking out there were several people in line, the staff could not find our registeration card and they were again, very disorganized. We never officially checked out after waiting around 20 minutes, because they stated the computers were then down, though other people were checked out. They did not offer to sign us out on paper, they had no back-up plan. Still keeping an eye on credit card if overcharged. Over all not the worst place we have stayed but we have had better stays at motels that were rated less. We will never...
Read moreCheck in was normal. Fairly quick even. Traveling with a 5 year old grandson, so we had extra things with us to get to the room. Once inside and settling in for the night I went to wash my face and hands. That's where it began. The bathroom area was not in anyway clean. The tub/shower were nasty, the sink area had not been cleaned and minor as it sounds, the waste basket was full as well. Certainly not what you expect to find after arriving at your hotel room. The refrigerator also had not been checked. It was full of opened beverages. So, I grabbed the full waste basket and headed to the front desk to just ask for something to clean the bathroom with and an empty waste basket. Figured it would be easier to just do it myself considering the time of night that it was. They declined my request and said they would take care of it right away. Right away meant almost an hour. But, a very nice young lady came and was very apologetic and took care of the issues. Great! I was ready to shower and go to bed by then. Exiting the shower after finishing, I stepped into a flooded bathroom. Wonderful! What next? Using half of the towels provided, I mopped up the water that had pooled all over the floor. Finally, our day was done and tried to turn the air conditioner down while we slept and don't ya know, it wouldn't turn off, change temperature, turn fan off, nothing. Try calling the front desk again from the hotel room and no answer. Tried again and nothing. After the 3rd time with no luck I called from my cell phone and finally someone answered. Explained the reason for the call and was told that somebody would be there right away. Knowing what right away meant to them, I figured it would be a bit before somebody showed up. At almost 1:00am there was a knock on the door. Close to 2 hours after I contacted the front desk! The woman tried everything to fix the AC and like us, was unable to so, she just unplugged the unit.Great! Good night! All 3 of us were drenched in sweat when we woke up, because the AC had been unplugged earlier. Disaster from the minute we entered our room for the night. We will never go back to the Red Lion...
