From 2021-2024 It was 5 stars. It was my favorite Sushi place in town. Would go there often and would always recommend. Went a few weeks ago and I was highly disappointed.
I do understand they are now under new management but did not know that until I went.
Review now form 2 weeks ago. Its going to be along one.
Walked in and the waiter asked us, how many? We said 2. He said "Okay I have to clean a table first" He sat back down and continued to scroll on his phone for about 5 minutes before he got up and went to clean our table and get us seated. When he finally got us to our table, asked us for our drinks, which were water he forgot them multiple times. It took him about 10 minutes to bring us our water. I do want to say. They were busy and he was the only waiter which I can understand that it would take him longer to get stuff, but to forget water and utensils for 10 minutes is crazy. 10 minutes after our water was finally on our table, he finally asked for our order. I ordered the Hibachi Chicken and Shrimp and my partner ordered the 3 Shushi Roll. We thought it would not take as long, but it did. And then the wait game started. 20 minutes passed, no food, 30 minutes passed nothing, 40 minutes passed nothing. And on top of that, parents had children with them that were yelling on top of their lungs, throw utensils, water cups, screaming the entire time all around us for the entire time. I know that this is more of the parents responsibility to tell the children to be quiet, or to stop throwing things or running around but they didn't. However, I do know that some restaurants do normally tell people to "keep their children quiet" and no one did anything. It was a mad house. When it was 45 minutes and the people that arrived after us got their food before us, I have had it. We left and we will not be going back again. Tokyo Belly, you were good for a while, but I guess all good things have to...
Read moreThis is a nice little sushi place. We ate here on a Saturday around 2PM. Not a common time to eat, so service was very quick and good. We had a nice pleasant waitress. We ordered the Tuna Takaki as an appetizer. It was okay, but not my favorite. I thought the tuna would be seared right before serving, but it appears they probably sear a big hunk of tuna and then cut off pieces when they need it. Not my thing, but now I know. We took advantage of their three roll combo. The three roll combo is three classic rolls for $20. We ordered the Philadelphia Roll, the Salmon Skin Roll, and the Alaskan Roll. We love salmon, what can I say. The Philadelphia Roll was our favorite of the classic rolls, the smokey flavor of the salmon blends so well with the cream cheese. The Alaskan Roll was a solid second place, boasting a nice salmon flavor. The Salmon Skin Roll was what I would call a “oopsie”. I must’ve thought it would be salmon belly, which I know I have enjoyed in the past. The Salmon Skill Roll is just what it sounds like, scaly, chewy, no meat, and easily my least favorite. But again that’s on me. We also ordered two speciality rolls. We ordered the Long Island Roll and the City Hall Roll. I highly recommend both of them. They are both a must to order. I am unsure if I have a clear favorite of the two. The City Hall Roll features an extremely white tuna with cream cheese and is a little spicy. The contrasting colors make it look particularly appealing. The Long Island Roll is a larger-than-average roll that is absolutely packed full of fish. It also has white tuna as well as red snapper, yellow tail, and salmon. This roll is amazing with just a little soy sauce to enhance its flavor. I will have to come back to this sushi spot in the future. I will need to try the Irchiro Roll and Green Delight Roll. Overall, I recommend the Tokyo...
Read moreTried Tokyo Belly tonight for the first time. I've had sushi from all over the country, Orlando to Honolulu. This wasn't the best sushi I've had, but it was absolutely above average for this area. The nigiri/sushi was a total mouthful and they certainly didn't skimp on the fish portions. I tried the miso soup, nigiri/sushi platter, yellow tail nigiri, yellow tail scallion roll, gyozas, and plum wine. The miso soup seemed a little light on the veggies but the flavor was overall pretty good. The yellow tail was fantastic, and everything in the sushi platter was great (though the tuna seemed a hair dry). The roll and gyozas were great as well. The platter came with a Hollywood roll, and I personally didn't care for the cream cheese; would have preferred a basic California roll. On an extra note, one of the hostesses was amazing. I watched her take a complex order from a full table by memory, then process a call-in order, all while juggling a toddler. Impressive service, and they did a fantastic job managing all the customers they had with very few staff. Very impressed, will...
