The answer to how good is Wyndham's Sea Garden Resort is "it depends". We reserved a one bedroom condo unit and were given a unit in an old (circa approx 1950s), dark, and very uninviting unit that differed so much from the advertised online photos that one could make a case for intentional misrepresentation. Apparently, Sea Garden comprises 7 different buildings. The buildings that are featured in the online ads are two relatively current 4-story oceanfront buildings that only have studio units. Across Hwy A1A to the west are four old "garden view" buildings. That's where our assigned unit was. Immediately west of those buildings is what appears to be a recent construction (approx last 5-10 years) tower of approx 15 floors. That building appears to be nicely located on the Intercoastal waterway. We were told that Wyndham only has 2- bedroom units in that building. We ended up requesting a unit change and swapped our dingy one bedroom unit for an oceanfront studio unit that was small but nice. So...vacationer beware! The oceanfront studios are nice and the tower with 2- bedroom units adjacent to the Intercoastal look nice from the outside. But avoid the units in the four old buildings in between...
Read moreGreat stay overall, we stayed for 2 weeks. However, on our first day there it took forever to get our room ready.
We arrived at 4pm to check in only to find the room was not ready. We were told someone at the front desk will call us as soon as the room becomes available, saying that they are short-staffed and are expecting a lot of check-in that weekend. We called at 7:30, and again were told it’s not ready. We waited until 10pm for another phone call, and nothing. So we called back again only to find out our room was ready at 7:40pm. “Where was our phone call to inform us?” We asked. “Someone must’ve called you” was their reply. No one called! We were unable to get into the room until 10:30pm when our check-in was supposed to be at 4pm.
No apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. We politely asked for a discount on our first night’s stay for the inconveniences we’d had to endure not being able to access the room (my feet were fractured at the time and were both in casts and I was feeling quite uncomfortable and just needed to put them up). But it was to no avail.
So great place to stay, but not the greatest...
Read moreWe work hard with our small business and can only take off a little time off and come to the beach all the way from the mid west. We have injoyed your property that is beautiful and close to the beach, although the management and service has had a serious decline since covid. Our last visit we booked a two bedroom months in advance and opon checking in they down downgraded us to a one bedroom with no Landry and family has to sleep on a couch. There was no help with bags and rude staff gave no apology being moved or stolen points from our time share. To anyone thinking about buying into wyndom I would take caution as they lie and cheat you at every turn after paying them thousands per month it would be nice to keep the rooms you book.
Should have just bought a condo off beach and rented it out 11 months out of the year so I don't have to wait my time trying to teach a hospitality company how to practice...
