Sewer gas leak in bathroom (room 102) Dirty, bottom of lamp covered in dirt or rust, doors / floor feel slimy Staff lazy and make promises they won't keep Very hard to get a refund, was promised one for the second night, as staff told me I could check out 1 day early to get a refund on my second day, never happened, even after calling 3 times. My experience: Stayed in room 102, bathroom had a sewer gas leak, smelled very strongly of rotten eggs, the odor caused us to feel lightheaded and nauseous. (high exposure to sewage gas can lead to organ failure / death) Front desk lady came to our room, agreed that it smelled like rotten eggs, told us that the hotel was fully booked so we can't switch rooms. However she promised that she would make a note of it to manager and in the morning, we would be able to switch rooms for the second day (we booked 2 days). Was 2am at the time, so couldn't find another hotel, so decided to stay that night. After covering the shower drain, toilet, and sink drain with plastic wrap and wet towels, the smell went away. Morning of second day, contact front desk, different lady there, explain our situation and that we would like to switch rooms. However, she said that no one left a note or anything about the sewer gas leak (even though previous receptionist said she would leave a note). She checks our bathroom but couldn't smell anything because everything was covered up in plastic and wet paper towels. She then says that she will not let us switch rooms, because then the housekeepers would have to clean 1 more room! Then she claims that there's no problem, that it's the best room in the hotel, and maybe I'm just used to staying at the Hilton or Marriot instead of a run down hotel like Ramada Poway. She says if we don't like it, we can check out early and get a refund for the second day. I agree and check out then and there. 1 month later, called 3 times, was promised that the refund was in the system and on its way, but still haven't seen it yet... Gonna have to dispute the charge on my credit card...
Read moreI would leave zero stars if I could. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here. My family and I stayed at this location this past weekend for a prestigious soccer tournament being held nearby. Due to travel delays we didn't arrive until 11:00 p.m. Check in was relatively smooth, but upon entering our room, we were met with a strong, chemical-like smell. It was late, we were tired, so we chose to deal with it the next day. We were offered another room, but the same smell was there too. Raj offered to have a machine brought to our room to help remove the smell, but that never happened as the smell remained for the duration of our stay. The floors were also extremely dirty. I asked the front desk to have housekeeping staff sweep and mop our floors, but instead of offering help, my concerns were blown off, and I was told the floors weren't dirty, and what we were seeing on the bottoms of our feet was due to the finish on the wood-look tile floor. The photos of the rooms are very misleading. The furnishings in our room were very dated and damaged. The entertainment unit where the fridge and microwave were kept looked as though a dog had mauled the corners away. There were areas of the wall under the sink that weren't completely painted and we found many stains on the bathroom and shower walls. Baseboards are very dusty and dirty, the window sill the same, but also showing signs of a prior ant problem - their little dead bodies were left behind. It was almost as though they didn't finish this room's update before allowing guests to check in. As other reviewers have also mentioned, breakfast consisted of white bread for toast, packaged and processed pastries, and sugary cereals. No protein options available. We ended up cutting our stay short and checking into another hotel down the highway. Be warned! Spend a few extra dollars and avoid the hassle and inconvenience of poor service and...
Read moreAt check-in I provided my bank card. The lady at the front desk ran it and then told me that they could not accept it. I questioned why and was told that because it’s an online bank, it won’t work. Disgruntled, I handed over a credit card. I got the $150 deposit on the credit card and moved on with my life. Next day, I check my bank account and there’s a $108 charge for the room, and a pending $150 deposit. I check my credit card app and there is also a $150 pending hold. I call the office and speak with a man, it’s the same man I dealt with at the property that seems like he hates his life and has no personality whatsoever. I ask why 2 deposits were placed and he acts like everything is fine because it’ll drop off in 3-4 business days. Frustrated, I say thanks and hang up. I wasn’t happy with his response so I waited until the next day to call back and hopefully get someone else that can explain the situation to me. I speak with a woman, I ask my question, she gives me the same generic response as the guy before, which doesn’t answer my question. She then answers another call and starts offering reservations while I’m still on the phone. I hang up, call back and she explains that it’s pending and it’ll fall off. That wasn’t my question, my question was WHY was I charged $150 twice, one time on two different cards + $108 for the room and would I also get charged on my credit card.
Also, when I checked in there was a man who went into his room only to discover that the room they provided him hadn’t even been cleaned yet. So there’s that… but aside from all that, the room was fine. The beds were very firm but not uncomfortable. The fridge had leftover food from the previous person in it and the towels were so small, we had to ask for extras.
Tl;dr: don’t give them more than 1 card, make sure your room is fully cleaned and if you expect at least decent customer service,...
