I have been thrifting in and around Poway for years and just found this gem of a store. It was a bit of a challenge to find, even with using google maps I managed to miss the driveway initially, as did my friend, so if you know Poway Road, just remember it’s on the south side, across from McDonald’s.
I didn’t know where to begin when I walked in, it was bigger than it looks from the outside, so headed to back corner and fanned out from there. Clothing racks are organized by size and style (dresses/pants/tanks etc). I tend to prefer size grouping over color grouping because sometimes you just want to pop in and out. They had a back room available for trying on clothes, which is greatly appreciated and harder to find these days. I was there for specific items I needed for a costume but still ended up picking up a variety of separates because, a) I liked them (of course) but b) the prices were lower than both goodwill and Salvation Army, I mean, $1 for an adorable bodysuit! $5 for the perfect fit, white jeans, a lazy little white sundress for summer for $2! That’s what I’m talking about 👍👏 I found the staff to be very friendly and hands on! Jane was welcoming and I had a lovely conversation with her, including, how I can volunteer my time to their store (proceeds go to a variety of charities). There were three other ladies there as well, neglected to get their names, but they were helpful and fun, helping my friend and I find and decide on our purchases. I will definitely add this to my thrifting rotation, especially with the 50% off, I miss classic thrifting prices and ReRuns has them! Skip fast fashion and shop sustainably! It’s better for your wallet, the environment, and benefits charity! Keep up the good...
Read moreBuyer beware! Cashier Diane over charges. Diane rung me up twice, first time $124. I politely mentioned it didn’t seem to add up correctly. Diane was put off when asked to re-ring my purchase. She did it reluctantly, new total $111. Once home, I did the math again, discovered a $22 + discrepancy, still overcharged. Annoyed? Yes. But I wasn’t mad about it. Mistakes are made, right? I drove back to ReRuns Resale to go over items purchased with receipt in hand. Mind you, my receipt wasn’t itemized and no idea how much tax was charged. Diane and coworker Dancing ??? (Nickname) who rung me up were immediately on the defensive when asked if we could go over my receipt. They were put out, somehow it was my error. After much discussion, sure enough, I was overcharged $22+. To make things worst, Diane accused me of not bringing everything back. Really??? Accusing me of stealing?! So I suggested we cross check items to their store merchant receipt to prove I wasn’t being dishonest. Diane blew me off, refused to check. Excuses were made, no apology given for their mistakes. Diane’s excuse was it was a long day and she was tired. Yep, good reason to be condescending, rude, and unprofessional. Diane and Dancing ???, if you’re tired and it causes you to treat customers poorly then it’s time to retire. I’ve never been treated so poorly in a store, let alone a resale shop. Ladies, take responsibility for your mistakes! Hope you both show respect and appreciation for the store volunteers who seem to be...
Read moreThis place has a nice assortment of home decor, clothing, accessories and other miscellaneous things. It is on the pricier side. However, my 2-star rating is for the unwelcoming environment. I went with my mom and as we entered the store, no one greeted us. And listen, I'm not a person who expects retail employees/volunteers to bend over backwards and ask if you need help with XYZ; a simple "Hi welcome!" is fine.
The older woman working the jewelry counter was watching me like a hawk. Said nothing to me at all. Very off-putting.
There was about 5 or so volunteers just having a grand ol' time; smiling, laughing and joking around. No "Live, Love, Laugh" for us though. Just a lot of side-eyeing instead.
I couldn't figure out what their deal was and I'm too tired to think of excuses for them. I won't be...
