I recently stayed at The Cove with 10 of my high school girlfriends (most of us have known each other for 50+ years). We stayed in The Sapphire Suite and Diamond Suite. We had a fabulous time! The accommodations were great. The suites were beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. There was plenty of room for us to sit in the kitchen area playing games, relax in the living room area by the fire visiting or cozying up on the deck in front of the outdoor fire table. In the suites, the king sized beds were so comfy. In each room there was a vanity area which was a huge bonus when you had that many women getting ready. From the front deck you can view the Mississippi River. And YES, there are trains that roll through town. I personally love them. But, there are complimentary noise machines and ear plugs provided in each room if you are not a fan. You cannot beat the location! You are within walking distance to 10-12 bars (Meat Raffles/Music!), restaurants, a coffee shop, Dairy Queen, shopping at Aim Joy Boutique and the beautiful St Croix and Mississippi Rivers. If you are adventurous, 2 blocks away from The Cove across the Prescott bridge is a walking/bike path that takes you along the Mississippi River to the neighboring town Hastings, MN. We didn't get to that, but maybe next time! Megan our host was awesome to work with. She was attentive and available for questions and guidance. There are so many options in this fun little town. We had the best time staying at The Cove, many memories made and we are already planning for our visit...
Read moreI will caveat my review with the idea that we did stay there in winter and were not fully able to appreciate all the property's amenities. Overall, we had an enjoyable time and really like some of the unique touches of the place, but there were a few issues.
Pros: -Very nicely designed with good layout of units and great decor. -Great location, near a lot of places to eat and drink and the marina. I actually liked the occasional train. -It was affordable and allows pets, though the price may have been a seasonal factor. -Very responsive hosts. We initially got the wrong door code but promptly fixed, which was important because it was below zero outside. -Some nice touches like pizzas available in room, white noise machines by the bed, nice guidebook.
Cons: -Beds. By far the biggest complaint was the mattresses weren't comfortable and the linens were just okay. I put a lot of weight on the quality of the bed during a vacation and I did not sleep well while here. -A few things just didn't work out well. The clubhouse TV did not cast a live sporting event we hoped to watch while playing darts, so we had to return to the room. Seemed like slow internet was the culprit. -No hairdryer in the bathroom and our unit was out of body soap and conditioner. A few lightbulbs were out. Given it was a short stay, we didn't mind, but seemed like some oversights.
I would consider returning, but only if the beds improve. It would be good if they could improve the internet connection as well. The remaining concerns are mostly...
Read moreThis was hands down the best Airbnb we've ever stayed in! We visited as a family and had an amazing time. The location is perfect—just a short walk to downtown with stunning views of the town. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous—every detail was so thoughtfully designed and beautifully styled. It truly felt like a home away from home. The glam touches throughout make it an ideal spot for a girls' weekend or bachelorette party. I wasn’t even planning to get ready in the mornings, but the chic vanity area was too fun to resist! Megan (the host) was incredible—super responsive, helpful, and kind, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We absolutely loved our stay and would 100% recommend it. Can’t wait...
