Picture this. 12- 40ish yr old mom friends who planned and booked a getaway back in April for an Oct. stay. A treasured time to spend together away from our incredibly busy lives of juggling our professional careers, children, husbands, pets, households etc. A time to completely let loose, have fun, laugh, and leave our worries behind. We chose The Port because of its beautifully decorated rooms, with enough space to house us all, it's desirable proximity to restaurants, bars, shops and the St. Croix. In fact The Port is DIRECTLY across the street from Scabs- a local dive bar that boasts live music with outdoor bands, filled inside & out with adults drinking and partying long into the early morning hours- which you can hear clear as day in your room. In fact The Port is within a block of pretty much all the bars in town, plus the backyard liquor store! The walls of The Port are very thin, so there is very little privacy from your neighbors or outdoor noise, especially the loud train that frequently runs through the town. ||||The Port was very desirable to our group as it clearly advertises that "parties are allowed" and "a great place for girls/guys weekends". We booked The Port for Thurs, Fri and Sat. To our surprise and excitement, we found out the annual Flood Run motorcycle ride was coming to Prescott that Sat. It is a wonderful charity event that filled the street in front of The Port with hundreds of top of the line, beautifully loud motorcycles with fabulous riders. Reving bikes, live bands, people celebrating and having the best time, filled the whole day Sat from sun up to well beyond sun down. We heard every motorcycle, laugh, word being said outside The Port (starting at 6am Sat morning) but did not let it bother us, we enjoyed that others were having a great time too!! ||||Mysteriously we had no problem Thurs or Fri, but for a little more than 1 hr on Sat from about 730p-845p we were, according to Megan the owner of The Port, the worst humans she has ever encountered, even though she has never met any of us. As you can see from other reviews we were charged an extra $400 for "being loud". This $400 was our security deposit that was for damages (this is stated in the rental agreement and says nothing about noise.) Summarizing- we were gone all day Sat. We came back to The Port for that short time to get ready for the night out. Our mistake, that we fully admitted to and apologized for, was leaving a door open to the room we were meeting in prior to heading out again. We were having a blast, laughing, and talking loud with some walking between rooms- so with the door open and the thin walls I 100% believe and can understand we were disruptive to other guests. The problem is no one came and said a word to us in that short time. We would have gladly quieted down and shut the door. Instead we were threatened by Megan over the phone. No warning, no civil conversation telling us we were being loud. Only a proven lie that she had called the police on us. There is no record of this. Besides that 1hr, there were no other issues. Megan sent us the video proof of us being "horrible humans" which showed us walking in the halls, laughing, and talking loud. I am asking Megan now to please post these videos in your inevitable rebuttal, full of lies and exaggeration, to this review. I would also ask AGAIN to show proof the other guests left and a refund was given. One of the couples checked in at 6p when we were leaving, and supposedly checked out 3hrs later? The story doesn't quite add up. But it's not surprising Megan would lie about this too. If they actually left, was it because of 1hr of us being loud, or more likely a combination of that 1hr plus the extremely loud block party, 100s of bikers, live bands, hooting and hollering that was happening at the same time. ||Megan will write something grossly false misrepresenting us in response to this. And also apparently delete this review, like she has the others. As we were warned by several locals she is deceitful, conniving, and incredibly greedy. Our lawyer has written a very professional request for proof and a response, which she refuses to give. ||I urge you to stay away from The Port for girls weekends as advertised, but more importantly stay...

Because there is no way to respond to the owners continued mistruths and exaggerations in her responses. I guess it goes here.

Megan, it seems difficult for you to understand. The request to release the videos can be made to our lawyer. That is how this works. Repeating yourself over and over from your perceived high pedestal does not prove your point. Let's solve this off social media. JUST RESPOND TO OUR LAWYER. Then you can release these videos of us screaming and running in the halls, a crazy rager with loud music, rowdy guests, keg stands, drugs and destruction of property that lasted hours and hours.......EXCEPT you know none of those things are true. The 2 different times in question we were there for 30-45min, proven by timestamps in your videos and timestamps on our pictures at various Prescott establishments. We left the property in between these 2 "episodes" and were gone from the property before and after this for the entirety of Sat, enjoying the beautiful town of Prescott.

As far as your screen shots of the complaint, we were gone from the property 3min after the complaint was made according to the timestamp (8:40p) and prior to your threatening phone call (which was 8:49!) and did not return until the end of the night. We were very consciously quiet when we returned as we did not mean to disturb other guests. Loud talking, laughing, cheering absolutely happened during those 2 very short time frames. We have not denied that and apologized immediately when brought to our attention.12 people in a tight space that is not sound proof will be loud no matter who you are. I guarantee we were not louder than the huge biker rally happening on the other side of The Ports walls that woke us up Sat at 6am. (But we did not complain about that and instead chose to support and enjoy this charity event).

The point here is we would have happily quieted down if we were asked to. The $$ is not the problem, but the illegal way you went about it is, which is why a lawyer is involved. The lawyer you refuse to respond to. As our lawyer clearly pointed out to you, you cannot retain a security deposit for noise complaints, and especially not if it is not stated in the rental agreement. Instead you should have removed us from the premises, except you couldn't because we were not there, and anyone in law enforcement would have laughed at that request. (Which is probably why you lied to us about calling the police.) As far as the guest's complaint, any reasonable guest would have been satisfied with the solution of #1 asking us to quiet down and #2 us quieting down. Pretty simple. Not take it up on themselves to check out without an attempt at a remedy and demand a refund. That was your choice to accommodate that request.

I would suggest not advertising girls weekend/bachelorette parties and stating "parties allowed on site", going forward. Unless you clarify only silent...

Worked late that day, drove over 4 hours, arriving near 8:30pm. The host had NOT checked the state of the room; dirty towels on floor, bed/sheets strewn about. Exhausted, travel worn, overstimulated, hungry. Note: I am autistic, have PTSD, full-time nursing student who needed to get back to studying after check-in. ||||Contacted the host, Megan, about the dirty room; I had to pee so bad and didn't want to use a dirty bathroom. I am also immunocompromised. The host gave us another room and needing to pee, ran to the room. Code didn't work. Panicking, I could feel urine going down my legs. Tried a couple other doors thinking I must have heard wrong on which room. I couldn't believe that it was now 9pm and our room was never even ready. Check-in was at 4pm. Disgusted, understandably upset, annoyed. ||||We sent a request for a partial refund $50 for the inconveniences, stress and wasted time on the issues, neglect and carelessness of the host. The new room was frigid; original suite: very warm, inviting. Spouse left for food. Much to my shock, someone knocked on the door scaring me and startling our dog. Being autistic, already beyond overstimulated, just trying to handle the situation as best as I could, not seeing that Megan stated that she would let management know about our concerns and send a concierge to our room. ||||This was a small establishment. Megan is management, the host, the concierge, security and possibly who does the cleaning. Shocked that that's who was at the door. The host, Megan, retaliated against us and confronted us at our suite! I was in no state to talk to anyone. I needed to be studying. ||||Thankfully, my husband arrived and I deferred to him to handle this situation. Once I heard her start calling me names, making insinuations, insulting us, I was triggered and opened the door to account for where I was coming from. I felt so unsafe, attacked and have never had a host show up at my door, confront and retaliate against us. She came for a fight/confrontation. It was all unsettling. Megan kept threatening to throw us out. It was well past 10pm now. ||||As a customer/guest, I have never been treated in this way. There are other reviews online similar to our case. I was berated, insulted, belittled, dismissed, threatened, discriminated against, taken advantage of, gas lighted. We almost called the police and were too tired to cancel/leave. Horrible host, liar, fabricating facts, defamation, and making up false, exaggerated accounts of what happened. Security was never called, although she claimed they were. Unless the concierge and security and host is all the same. Unsafe and unacceptable host/airbnb. ||||DO NOT STAY Here! This host and establishment needs to be reported and based off of what some locals have said, this isn't...
