The cheese curds are absolutely 100% recommended. Location is great, facing the river front. They have large "garage doors" (with glass windows) they can open during good weather to allow an open atmosphere. There is also a deck. As for the service, the employees were attentive and kind, for the most part. There were a few lulls here and there.
This is probably the best value (lower priced items available) in this strip of restaurants. I have been to others, the prices are a bit exorbitant.
Cheese Curds: 5/5 Burger 4.5/5 Chicken Tenders 4.5/5
The cheese curds were hot and tasty. The center was oozy when you bit into them, which made them perfect. The burger and the tenders came with ample amounts of fries. It was a good value, although you only get 4 decent sized, not large, chicken tenders, so the burger was a better value overall. I felt so-so about the honey mustard dipping sauce for the tenders. It was kind of thin and just lacked something. The tenders themselves were juicy and had thin but good breading. Everything tasted fresh and it was hot. The burger was also cooked perfectly. It needed more sauce, though, unfortunately. I am guessing they make most of the stuff fresh by hand, but I am not sure. It tasted like good quality ingredients.
A few disappointments:
A word of warning: If you want comfortable seating, you may not be able to get it. A lot of the chairs are high top/bar height and the ones we were sat at were terrible. It looks like the stools they have for the deck area are also probably pretty uncomfortable as well, but we did not get to go out there (it was too cold).
Also beware that they may be playing country music. But that is kind of their thing.
The glasses for water I got were plastic and very much scratched up. So much so they were cloudy. It was not appealing. The glass a beverage is served in confers quality (there have been studies on this). It made the restaurant seem cheap. I know it's a small thing to gripe about but it did kind of tarnish things a little.
Overall, I would go back if I had a craving for cheese curds and a ton of fries...
Read moreWe had dinner at Two Rivers Lodge Bar & Grill in Prescott, Wisconsin. Located at 117 Broad St, Prescott, WI 54021. Wow! What an incredible restaurant!!! The food was incredible and the decor reminds one of a northwoods cabin, which fits in perfectly with a small town railroad community overlooking the St Croix and the Mississippi rivers in downtown Prescott. I tried the Two Rivers Burger 🍔, which is a huge half pound of Angus beef, topped with Wisconsin aged cheddar, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Onion Strings, lettuce, tomato, and their secret Two Rivers Burger sauce. It was delicious and I want to know the recipe for their secret Burger 🍔 sauce! They should sell the secret burger sauce in bottles at the bar! My wife had a bowl of The Chicken Wild Rice Soup and loved it! My sister ordered the gigantic Lodge Turkey off the Comfort Foods section of the menu and couldn't stop raving about it! She said it was to die for!!! Not only that, but it's GIGANTIC! It could easily feed 3 people! It has huge pieces of real turkey piled in-between 2 slices of grilled (super yummy) Cranberry Wild Rice bread, stuffing, mashed potatoes, smothered in gravy, garnished with onion strings on top, and a side of roasted apples 🍎. It's like having an entire Thanksgiving dinner wrapped up into a huge sandwich!!! Be prepared to ask for a to go container because I guarantee you won't be able to finish it by yourself. Pleas have someone at your table order this. You won't regret it! My sister's friend ordered the Classic BLT. It was served on grilled Vienna Bread 🍞, Applewood Smoked Bacon, lettuce tomatos 🍅, and mayonnaise. She's a Bacon 🥓 fanatic and loved it! We live in St Paul and even though it's a 25 minute drive, we will be back often!!! We can't wait to go back and try some more things on their menu. This truly is a destination place that is well worth the drive 🚗!!! I've added some pictures for...
Read moreWhile at this restaurant, I had high expectations for the food. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met. In fact, I was incredibly disappointed and wished I had gone somewhere else for dinner. My significant other, and I wanted to thoroughly enjoy our date night. Instead, I am leaving hungry due to the quality of the food. Not to mention, my order was incorrect. Our server did offer to send the order back, but at that point, I chose not to. I made that choice because my boyfriend and I would have had our meals at different times, and the food wasn't good. Honestly, we wanted to leave but didn't as we already ordered/ received our food, and we felt obligated to stay. The waitress could tell that we were disappointed and decided not to acknowledge us or ask how we were doing and check on our table as servers should do. I have been a waitress myself, and if I were in her position, I would have rectified the issue by either removing the meal from our check or have the manager on duty ask us what we would like done because of our experience. Not even a slight discount was given. We will not return and feel that this was not handled properly. I would not recommend this...
