As a family with a Stadium of Fire performer, who had grueling practices at LaVell Edwards Stadium, we will not be returning to this Hyatt.||Every moment at the hotel mattered during this time. We were desperate for rest, reprieve, and a hot meal. I honestly feel like I failed as a parent booking this Hyatt. (We had such a great experience the year before at Marriott’s SpringHill Suites, we had no idea the Hyatt would be such a severe downgrade at double the price.)||There is NO MICROWAVE in the room and NO HOTEL PARKING. (Though, thankfully, there’s a huge closet with a full-size ironing board and iron, so if your vacation dreams include endless ironing, this place has you covered!)||Instead, you're forced to park in a non-attached, creepy parking garage next door, with an EXTRA charge and a stress-inducing ticketing and towing policy. Honestly, the parking STRESS nearly put me over the edge. We saw elderly people struggling with hotel luggage carts on the second floor of the garage, I felt so bad for them. Meanwhile, the porte cochere out front is the smallest I’ve ever seen. Good luck unloading there, it's anything but accommodating.||...and then, the giant “No Pedestrian Traffic” signs... with nowhere else to walk except the scary, unconnected parking garage. What is that even supposed to mean?! You literally have to walk through the garage to reach your car. Every time we left, we had to build in 15 extra minutes just to get from the room to the car. Out of the hotel, across to the other building, up the elevator... what a total pain. I had no idea parking wasn’t included, AND I had no idea how much time it would eat up just coming and going. (At the time of this review, parking is an extra $10 per night.)||Let’s talk about the “meh” breakfast, which, shockingly, is another extra charge: $8 per person, per day. Its anything but upgraded. No thanks.||The pool towels are basically thin napkins, and there are threatening signs warning you not to take them up to your room. (Next time, I’ll happily walk up soaking wet.) The pool and hot tub tiles were surrounded by thick black, greasy stains, it was truly disgusting. Someone needs to get in there with some Dawn and a scrub brush. The visible build-up of body oils, dirt, and skin cells was horrifying, and we shared the water with a swarm of bugs. ..and no, it's not from the pool cover, it's from neglect. The only "maintenance" guy we saw was the one regularly coming and going with takeout fast-food. No one was cleaning anything.||When I called the front desk about a non-feather pillow, because I was actively reacting to the feather ones in the room, I was told I had call back later. Apparently, they can't leave a note for housekeeping? We also requested extra towels, since we were showering multiple times a day in the heat, but they only provided extra, only once. You have to keep calling... and calling... and calling... You can’t just make one request and have it honored throughout your stay.||The air conditioning will be turned off while you’re out, so every time we returned, we walked into a hot, stuffy room. ...and the refrigerator? It took two full days to cool down.||...and to top it off, knowing what we were paying, and knowing how little Hyatt passes on to the staff, the condition of this hotel is infuriating. No wonder the quality is circling the drain.||Compare that to Provo’s SpringHill Suites by Marriott, where we stayed in 2024, we’ll be returning there, from now on: a microwave in the room, parking right outside, a spacious porte cochere, plenty of luggage carts, and a fantastic breakfast ALL INCLUDED, for HALF the price.||I don’t care how many Hyatt points I’ve earned. I’d rather forfeit them all away than stay at this location again. With a bathroom as run-down and filthy as ours, rust, grime, and decay, it’s offensive that Hyatt has the audacity to charge what they do. This place shouldn’t be more than a $100/night roadside motel, and even that would...
Read moreWe thought we’d go to a nicer place for our anniversary. Wrong decision. Absolute worst experience getting into a hotel in my life.
The website says “We offer on-site self-parking for hotel guests.” But it isn’t obvious where as that is the full text from the parking section of the site. You have to look for tiny lettering on the parking garage next door. Which is difficult when it is raining. The first sign we see inside the garage says "Hotel Parking" pointing to the left so we follow that.
After parking (very tight spaces that took a while to get into) we take the elevator down and see a small sign that points to the west sidewalk as where the hotel is. Remember it is raining. We go out onto the sidewalk and head toward the hotel. All the doors are locked and require a key card. No obvious entrance. We try each door till we get to the SW corner which is under construction and have to go back. Getting soaked in the process.
I had checked in online earlier in the day and set my phone up as a digital key. That doesn’t work. Tried at multiple doors as we went back.
We finally found an open door in the back (NE corner) after walking through what felt like an alley. We get to the front desk to report our license number for parking (lot of good online checkin did) and lament the experience to the guy there and he just says “yeah they built the parking kinda bad” as we dripped on the floor.
Turns out there is a sign in the garage that points to the Hyatt entrance/back-door... but it is down past the original "Hotel Parking" that points left, so it went unseen. I guess this is our fault?
We get to the fairly nice and updated room (credit where it is due) and our bathroom door only slides partway closed then you have to force it the rest of the way.
Tried to look up when breakfast ended and there is no folder of into that most hotels have. Finally find a QR code to scan and it doesn’t work for either of us. Just hangs and then says this site can’t be reached.
Thank you for the “amazing” honeymoon night, we...
Read moreWe stayed here on chase points for a last minute trip to Provo. We had planned to be gone for most of the day every day but ended up having to stay at the hotel much of the time because our baby ended up getting sick the day before we got to Provo. So we got pretty familiar with the place.
We had an accessible room and it felt enormous. It also felt extremely clean. We were super grateful for that so our one year old could crawl around and we could have her nap near the bathroom with a sound machine while my husband and I could talk or watch something (way less fear of waking her up). The included breakfast was great and there were a few items that felt extra appreciated and tasty like the mixed berries for oatmeal and yogurt, and tortillas for breakfast tacos.
The location is amazing, we were able to go for some peaceful walks with the stroller around town and even though we were often times leaving after noon, I just made sure to request maid service and the front desk made sure they came and cleaned our rooms.
Since the hotel is in the middle of town, it’s hard to find parking without paying for the parking garage. We decided just to pay for it every night. However we still got a $75 bill in the mail for our last night. It was frustrating but Joel at the front desk reassured me it would be easily dealt with if I just submit my bill showing I paid for the parking. And if not I could call back and he would resolve it. He was extremely accommodating and helpful.
I felt like we were annoying guests at times because I was just trying to take care of my baby who had a fever and I was a stressed and tired mom. But hotel staff was always super nice and accommodating. My one suggestion would be to carry children’s Tylenol in the small market down stairs and perhaps no touch thermometers to borrow. I ended up making a 3am drive to Walgreens since there was nothing available.
Overall a great hotel and we’ll be...
