Slate Restaurant — Restaurant in Provo

It's possible we just ordered the wrong things, but I was not impressed. The place looks clean and sharp, though my chair wasn't very comfortable and my water glass was dirty (had chunks of something stuck to the inside). Our server was just okay... Didn't know what salad dressing options they had, didn't refill our waters or check on us. I actually think his shift may have ended while we were there because a different guy eventually brought us the check. The second guy seemed very nice, so maybe we just got lost in a transition or something?

The simple salad was nice. Simple, but the shaved parmesan on it elevated it. The bacon cheddar dip was also decent. Solid bacon flavor. But the BBQ chicken flatbread was super mediocre, and the sweet potato fries tasted like any old frozen sweet potato fries you could make at home or get from any cafeteria. It’s in a hotel so what can you expect? Prices are far and food quality is good, but not great. They changed their menu and dishes a little since the last time we’ve been there or maybe it has always been the same and we haven’t notice.

Anyways, their buffalo wings are average, while their ribeye that’s $27 is full of fat and tasted like grease. (I wouldn’t recommend getting their steak unless this description sounds good to you. I would suggest get their wings if you just want a snack, but I heard their hamburgers were better so try that.)

If your looking for a good ribeye California Pizza Kitchen has a better tasteful one that’s in Orem.

The service was nice and weren’t pushy and overall a good experience. I would recommend coming to this place for fun or for something for special occasions because it’s kind of fancy, but not too fancy if that makes...

We actually came here for their Slate restaurant that we found on Google.

I can't say I was expecting great food at a restaurant in a hotel lobby. But, we are always on an adventure to find new great restaurants. We had their buffalo wings which were surprisingly good.

My wife tried the the flatbread with mushrooms, spinach and cheese after reading the review that Tory Morgan suggested in a previous Google review. I gotta say, if you like mushrooms you will love it.

I got a burger. It was pretty good but not as memorable as the wings or the mushroom flatbread. We will totally come back again soon. Even though it is in a hotel lobby, they do a good job of making you feel like you are in a restaurant. The environment is chic and the meal was nice.
