Sensuous Sandwich — Restaurant in Provo

tl,dr: This place is overpriced, overrated, and woefully understaffed.

My wife and I tried Sensuous Sandwich for the first time tonight. We'd heard good things about it, and it had been on our list for a while so we were both pretty excited.

I ordered a sandwich with turkey, roast beef and pastrami, and my wife kept it classic with ham, cheese, and lettuce. They had plenty of customization options, which was nice, although both of us were shocked when we got to the cheese section and saw that provolone wasn't even listed. I wished they had red onions, which weren't an option either.

This was an online order, and the website said we could pick it up in 10 minutes. About 15 minutes later we arrived at the restaurant and I walked in to pick up the order. It was about 7:00. Both of the girls behind the counter looked very surprised when I told them I was there to pick up an online order. I watched them look down to check and see the order for the first time. Apparently they were too swamped to notice. They were both very nice about it, and I waited for them to make our sandwiches.

When we got home and opened up the food, we realized that they'd forgotten tomato on my wife's sandwich (something she really looks forward to—don't ask me why). This wouldn't be a big deal, but on top of everything else it sure seemed like it.

As far as sandwiches go, this place is below average. Half the bread was soggy and the other half was stale. And the cheese (I'd requested Swiss) was the fake Swiss you can buy in processed singles. I should have just settled for American.

A 6" here was the same price as a footlong at Subway. Save your time, save your money, and save your unmet expectations and go there if you want an average sandwich. At least they'll give you real cheese.

The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the two poor student employees just looked so worn down and exhausted by some dinner rush that must have just barely cleared up when I walked in (I was one of just a couple customers in the restaurant). I hope the management hires/schedules some help because those two sorely need it. At least...

My husband and I swear this place made us sick today! We should have known when coming in when we were greeted with a musty old mop smell upon walking in. We proceed because of the decent reviews, and my husband ate here many years ago and enjoyed it. Not sure if it's under new management or something but it's overpriced for a below average sandwich! They charge extra for everything (olives, extra onions, extra pickles etc.). My husband and I spent $29 on a 10 inch and an 8 ich sandwich with chips!! So ridiculous. We proceed and we immediately regretted our decision. We got bad stomachaches upon getting home. Needless to say, the cleanliness of this place is way below average as well, there is a sour musty smell inside the restaurant. Not to mention, the sandwich we got was even below Subway quality. The meat is poor quality and honestly resembles the lunch meat you can get in he grocery store for $1 a packet, and they hardly add any meat to begin with! The sandwich you receive is a sloppy and soggy mess.The ingredients really seem poor quality! My husband and I asked for swiss and Jack cheese and we both got some sour version of cheap American cheese. Seems like they cut corners in every way to improve their margins. so if your going to sensuous sandwich in provo duble check your order cause they obviously can't read or have no clue how to make a sandwich i just got home from there opened my bag that has my sandwich in it ordered a sensuous 24 inch so they put into two bags like normal so you can't see your sandwich i open it up and it's cold i ordered hot there's tomatoes i ordered no tomatoes there's mayo on i hate mayo so I said no mayo no pickles I ordered pickles nothing on this sandwich is how I ordered and yes I live about 15 minutes from this store location but hell how hard is it to read a piece of paper thazs stuck to the bag need to get rid of who ever is working right now and start over. plus there's bearly any meat on the sandwich the one up in orem is way better at actually building a sandwich how the customer wants lesson learned never going back to that location again advise others to duble check...
