Our stay started out great...at check-in, we were told we were "upgraded to a suite," a very spacious room with a jacuzzi tub and a kitchenette. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly, and as rewards members, we were given a gift bag with 2 bottles of water and a bag of chips. Our room was a little disappointing... tiny flies on the walls, at least it wasn't cockroaches 🤷‍♀️ The sheets were clean, and there were plenty of pillows. As we prepared to wind down for the evening I wiped out the jacuzzi tub as it felt like it had a soap scum lining and then I proceeded to fill her up...the knob that controls the intensity of the jets had been removed and did not turn without its handle....I could have made better bubbles blowing thru a straw 🤦🏻‍♀️. So I basically took a nice warm bath. The hotel could definitely benefit from some additional soundproofing, the room next door was on speaker phone till very late, guests were outside on the patio, directly outside our bedroom window chatting at high volume, and the room upstairs sounded like they were wearing lead shoes...oh and the upgraded kitchenette I spoke of... came with a refrigerator that was competing in volume with the airplane traffic... Day 2 after getting up early to attend a trade show till late afternoon, and a very restless night, we were going to settle down for a nap, however there was a party going on behind the shared wall of the bed so we opted to take a walk instead. The gazebo on the river was a beautiful respite, and we were able to enjoy some peace and quiet while bird watching in the warm sun. Night 2 was much of the same with the loud talking, our upstairs neighbor pacing, and the refrigerator and airplane noise. The room wasn't the cleanest, but it wasn't uninhabitable. You can tell that there has been some recent upgrades, but management may want to look into hiring a more qualified contractor...square covers on round holes, poor caulking which made the room look dirtier than it was, and gaps in the flooring that pinched your feet. The bathroom could have definitely been cleaner. As I mentioned before, soap scum in the jacuzzi was matched in the shower, and the caulking appeared moldy. 🤔 The ice machines have out of order signs, which after reading reviews sounds like that's been an ongoing issue that no one has bothered to fix. A staff member was kind enough to fetch some ice from the kitchen, however my husband and I are pretty sure he was wearing the same gloves he was using to clean when he came out of the kitchen with our ice bucket. 😳 Some additional highlights of our weekend included bets my husband and I made over an ever growing pile of laundry in the hall. It was like the staff was playing laundry jenga, as the pile never moved, just got taller, as it encrouched on the ceiling. Our next bet was over the half chewed pepperoni on the chair rail by the ATM, I mean how long could stay there even after it was brought to the attention of 2 staff members...the answer is at least 2 days...it was still there when we checked out. 🤮 The real reason this place gets 3 stars instead of less is in part the gazebo and cute little walk by the river but mostly the staff. Every staff member we came across was friendly. The bartender we had on Sunday evening 10/6 was amazing. He joked with us, made sure we were comfortable, and was very attentive. While I wouldn't stay here again, I would visit Adam's Pub for a bite if I was in the area.

Edit: I've upgraded my rating from 1 to 3 stars as the hotel was finally able to give us a room that could sleep 4 people once people had checked out Sunday afternoon. So for the next two nights we have a much nicer two queen room with a river view. Thanks Marvin at the front desk for helping us out. Original: This hotel has been the WORST hotel experience I have EVER had and I've stayed in many cheaper lower rated places. 1) We checked in and went to our room that was supposed to sleep 4 on a queen bed and pull out sofa, find out the bed in the sofa is a single..., went down to ask at reception what the deal was and was told there were no other rooms available and that all the rooms had the same sized couch (even though the photo on their website shows a full sized couch). The bed is also not even remotely level, it falls back down into the couch, no kid can even sleep on it let alone two adults. 2) Now tonight we arrived back tired and there is a wedding going on on the property and all the guests have been allowed to park filling up all the spots. So there are dozens of paying guests milling around the lobby looking for the staff to help them while their families sit on their cars and there is only 1 staff member on site. 1!!!! And they can't get through to the manager that they have been calling all night. They are basically in tears as they can't do anything and the hotel guests can't even come in and go to bed as they have no where to leave their cars. After initially leaving my car at an apartment building across the street I brought it back and parked on the lawn as I was afraid of getting towed from the apartment. 3) on finally getting upstairs to our room I see that the hallway is just full of dirty soiled sheets and cleaning products as if no one is cleaning the rooms at all so guests are just tossing out old linens and ordering new ones. 4 ) This place is also just gross. The carpet is covered in gum/tar stains, sheets we were given have stains on them and there was hair all over the shower. Edit: And now the hotel wifi has been out for 12 hours..... Keeps getting better!

*** edit : the general manager on day duty wasn’t aware of the situation that unfolded the night before. It looked like she wanted to fix things. We changed room and the new room was greatly superior than our previous one. Last room was 1/5( holes in the walls large enough for rats to go in, smelly, nasty carpet) this one is 5/5 (newly renovated). I understand that it takes time and money to renovate rooms, but from the other reviews I saw , problems need to be adressed. The manager deserves a 5 star rating, but I still can’t put a higher score for the hotel because of what happened. I was gonna give that hotel a chance, but for safety reasons it deserves a 1 star. Monday night at 11:30pm , a guy tried to break our door down and steal stuff or was looking for a fight. We was screaming his lungs out while trying to kick our door down. Loud enough to be heard from the lobby since it’s on the same floor. This lasted about 10 minutes, we had to call the police because it didn’t seem like the hotel staff was aware of the situation. He got arrested and no one checked on us. We were on the first floor at the end of a dead end hallway, where there should be a camera. That’s a really bad way to start a vacation. The staff doesn’t seem to be aware of what is going on in this hotel nor does they seem to monitor the cameras. I don’t know how he got in, but Monday night at 8pm we noticed an opened door leading to the back of the hotel, normally you need a key to get in after dark at other hotels.

I am only giving this hotel 1 star because I can not give 0. This was the worst stay at a hotel I have ever had. And it is such a shame due to the great location and water front views. I stayed here for a wedding that I was in and therefore stayed 2 nights as part of the wedding party. First off, the front desk was horrible. We all showed up at 3PM for check in and they seemed flustered and could not handle the sudden rush of people. They had issues finding my reservation and then stated that I was only staying one night when I was clearly staying 2, I had to pull up the email to confirm. We had reserved a standard 2 Queen bed room with water front view. After check in we left and went straight to the rehearsal dinner. When we returned around 9PM our toilet would not flush and we noticed that something was backing up into the bath tub. We called the front desk and they sent house keeping who tried to unclog the toilet and cleaned the tub. They asked us to wait and they would send "Maintenance"(I put this in quotes because it turned out to just be the guy who drove the shuttle, he knew just about as much about plumbing as I did). Meanwhile, all the rest of the wedding party was at the bar for drinks and we were missing out. Finally 2 hours later when the bus driving realized he couldn't fix the problem we were moved to another room. At this time we found out that it was vomit backing into our tub from the room next door. They had known someone puked in the tub the night before and used draino to try and fix the problem instead of calling a plumber. They moved us to a handicap room as it was all they had. This furthered our inconvenience as it was a double bed for 2 grown adults. There was no Fridge, no lock on the door, no closet, and the shower was handicap so built for someone to be sitting in it. I am over 6 feet, meaning the showerhead came up to about my chest. They then told us that they would try their best to move us the next morning. I informed them that as part of the wedding party I needed to move ASAP as I had to start preparing for the wedding at noon. I went down to the front desk 3 times the next morning asking if and when we would be moved. The first 2 times I was told they would let me know in 20 minutes, the last time I was told I would be the first to know. We never heard from them so at noon we started going about our business. At 1230 housekeeping showed up to clean the room and informed us we were supposed to check out and check into a new room. She called the front desk and finally they called us to tell us we needed to move. I told them it was too late as I was leaving to prepare for the wedding and didn't have time to move rooms. The next day they had the nerve to charge us over $100 for the first night after putting us in a vomit filled tub room and then moving us close to midnight. They also charged us full price for the 2nd night even though we were not able to move to a room similar to what we reserved. I complained to the front desk and when I threatened not to pay they finally...for the first time all weekend...apologized for the inconvenience. The manager then told me she would help me out and gave me a $20 credit for the first night, still charging me $80 for that night and full price for the 2nd night.

This stay completely ruined the weekend, we missed out on a lot of time trying to hang out with the bride and groom as well as other friends. We spent too much time the first night and next morning running around trying to get answers and only got an apology once we threatened not to pay. We were not the only ones to complain either, the front desk was rude to a lot of wedding guests, screwed up multiple reservations, and knowing we were returning from the wedding at 11PM still closed the bar early at 1045 and were rude when we asked if they could stay open. I would suggest never staying at this hotel. Service was clearly terrible and they clearly do not have their guests best interest in mind. NEVER...

Best Western Quincy/Boston for 3days/3nights. Checked in Saturday 7/22/23, 9pm: Room 310. Summer hot/humid and muggy. Air condition NOT working, Just blowing air. Refrigerator has food, 2 trash bins were not emptied and still have trash. Carpet was dirty (our socks got black just walking in that room to unpack our stuff that night!). Room is the waterview edge/side so understood that the room has no window/opening, just glass wall.

Upon reaching the room, we turned on the a/c and for 10 mins it was just blowing hot air from outside. I called the front desk (Lauren) and I was told that she can have an electric fan bring to our room. Also the trash to be picked up next day. She did not even offered to get them that night! Lauren firmly said "yes, the trash have to stay until the cleaners get them tomorrow". I insisted to have the a/c fixed or move us to another room. She said the hotel is fully booked - either we agree to have the fan or "happily" leave the hotel. I got very upset and said - "how can i happily leave the hotel when you are talking to me like that'. Guests happily leave the hotel when they are happy with their stay". The conversation turned annoying with no friendly service or sympathy from Lauren. She repeatedly said - "you can happily leave the hotel, its up to you".

I went to the front dest and talked to another the night shift staff (Kristin) and she offered the same - have a fan or leave the hotel (she has no idea that BW Quincy is our 3rd BW during our summer trip). She even refused to offer/find another hotel for us to move b'coz according to her I use my rewards points for our 2nd & 3rd night. After several disagreements, I was even accused of being rude b'coz i refused to understand the situation - broken a/c, dirty carpet, food in the fridge, trash filed with garbage. Kristin even said that she cannot do anything about it coz she just clocked in for that shift.

Feeling frustrated and exhausted, I had to step back and sit on the chair. Me and my family are all tired from the 4hr drive and I felt like crying. She saw me and felt guilty (was over hearing her asking Lauren - "is she crying? Do u see her crying?") and walked towards me and offered a cold bottled water, but she was still aggressive and kept explaining herself. I said stop talking if you have nothing nice to say. Laura (the front desk lady that assisted me when we checked in) even accused me and told Kristin that I was already upset right upon arrival in which she eventually withdrew her words later on when she saw me crying. She corrected herself and said - you only got upset when u called me/front desk reporting about the a/c not working and the room being dirty.

At 11:30pm, they sent their maintenance guy named Skip to our room for the second time while me and my family wait at the ground flr. Skip was able to replace/fix the a/c unit. If i didn't insist that they should do something to fix the a/c, Kristin will not do anything. We went back to the room. Skip showed to us that the a/c if finally working. Poor Skip I had to ask him to take the garbage bins and food from the fridge. He was even surprised the room had trash and food.

This BW Quincy property needs to train these staff particularly Lauren and Kristin. They are a liability to BW and other service related job/industry if they keep their attitude like that. Upon checking out on 7/25 morning, I had to report to the manager, Brenda. She and other morning staff were also shock of the treatment and how Lauren and Kristin handled the situation. Our first night was partially refunded - but not worth it specially if me and my family are frequent BW guests for...

I apologize for the long post in advance. I will summarize and then explain. Booked a suite for 2 nights and ended up in a regular queen room due to air conditioning not working but charged the higher rate anyway !! Dryer in laundry venting into the room and major security issues ! Our room left unlocked for majority of an entire day by housekeeping !! Front desk ladies polite and listens. Manager Jake a complete joke and refused to speak with me himself !!! All I can assume is that he had no defense for his hotel !! My family and I traveled for 2 weeks all over the northeast and this was by far the worst stay of the entire trip. We stayed at primarily Best Western’s in a modest price range. This was the most expensive location. We checked into a suite room only to have to move to a 2 queen room an hour later due to air conditioning not working. While my husband dealt with this issue I headed out to do some laundry and find the pool. They no longer have a pool and haven’t updated the info to reflect this. Needless to say the kids were disappointed. But the laundry was abysmally bad ! Apparently the building design has the 2 different sides of this hotel disconnected. So that’s right ... I had to come down to the lobby, cross to the other side and go back up again to access the room. The room was full of construction materials and the window opened to the roof and was not even possible to close. I don’t want to know who was crawling in and out of that window !!! I decided to stay in the room since it was such a pain to go back and forth and soon regretted This decision. It took me a while to realize that the dryer was venting into the room! 😷 the dryer was disconnected from the vent in the back by the wall so I immediately stopped the machine and moved to the other one. Yep you guessed it ... this one wouldn’t heat. So I was back and forth for some time trying to get clothes dry. I went to bed hoping for a better experience the next day. The next morning I hop through a quick shower in our handicapped accessible room which normally I would have no problem with but this was terrible ! There was not one shelf or counter space in the whole bathroom. We literally had to keep all bath supplies on the floor or in the actual room. Who designed this mess ???! An actual handicapped person would have to be able to bend over to pick things up off the floor or leave the room repeatedly to get things they needed. I am outraged for them !!

We left to sight see in the city and returned at 9 pm to find that housekeeping had failed to lock our door 🤬 That’s right !!! Our room was left unlocked for the majority of the day !!! Now I had had enough and went to speak to the girls at the front desk. They were polite and listened and agreed that this was all unacceptable but unfortunately the manager Jake was unavailable to speak with me and wouldn’t be till after we checked out. Unbelievable !!! Several calls later and this manager still refused to speak with me himself and decided the only fair thing was to not charge me more for Monday night than he did Sunday night and this was communicated by email . I would not stay in any hotel run by this Jake person period !!! Total failure to manage anything and left his staff to bear the brunt of it all. I waited several days to give him a chance to contact me to make things right and after complete silence I am left with only this as a way of letting people know...
