The Adams Pub — Restaurant in Quincy

I'm surprised that after 6 years living 5 minutes away from this place, I've never heard of it. If you are looking for a decent place with friendly service and a nice (outdoor) atmosphere, this is it.

We went in on a Saturday evening and I'm surprised it wasn't crowded. They have 2 outdoor decks right on the edge of the Neponset River. This gives a spectacular view of the evening sky and makes for a calm and relaxing dinner environment. Our waiter, Al (or maybe Val), was helpful and attentive. She seemed to be the only one tending to the guests, but managed to stay on top of everything with no time wasted.

I would say that the prices are a bit on the high end for pub food, but what isn't expensive nowadays anyway. Overall the steak tips were well seasoned and cooked to order, though the mash potatoes were gummy and flavorless on both mine and the wife's dish. The grilled chicken nachos were delicious, but make sure to share this appetizer because honestly it is a meal of its own. The baby was happy with her chicken fingers and fries.

I will very likely return as long as we have nice weather to enjoy the outdoor setting. I didn't sit inside, but t looked too stuffy and dark...

With nice weather, I assume the outdoor seating by the water will be busier. It can seem very peaceful and magical at sunset. The service was fine, but servers did not seem as available as they could have been. The calamari app was typical. The prime rib was not bad, but was not served to order. Rare was ordered, but order was closer to medium. The scallops with risotto was disappointing. The scallops were perfectly cooked and flavorful, but the risotto was bland and did not taste rich or smooth. I was staying in Adams Inn so it was convenient to eat at Adams Pub. I ordered take out which was easy to do online. Pick up was very easy on a table outside of the pub.

The first time I ordered in the pub. It had a nice local pub feel. I saw two people doing everything from bartender, serving, taking payment and bussing so it was hard to get the attention of a server to make a takeout order. Once I did it went smoothly. For being so busy, the server was very pleasant and efficiently took my order and payment.
