First, the Google Maps directions to get here do not acknowledge a crossover between the two separated lanes of Macaw street. Google maps is a fault for this. The satellite view clearly shows there is a crossover. You don't have to go into Brier Creek shopping center to get to this hotel location.
Overall, the room and hotel are not worth the price IMO.
Here is a mixed compendium of the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Airport noise is not bad but you still hear it.
The swimming pool is on the 10th floor and is open air. For a Westin hotel, I find this totally unacceptable. It was "closed for the season" when I visited. This seems more like a Holiday Inn pool than a Westin pool. Very small. The exercise room however looked fairly good.
The room HVAC is decent but The heat cannot be adjusted beyond 73°. The beds have a huge comforter and a small blanket. So your choice is to turn down the temperature to 65° and use the comforter, or cut it up to 73 and throw off the comforter altogether.
There is a mini refrigerator, but no microwave.
Ice makers? Forget about it. They appear to want to provide bagged ice in a "hydration" room mini freezer instead of ice makers on each floor. But when I stayed I could not find bag ice within four floors of me. This seems to be much less costly for the hotel, but clearly does not work. Period.
There seems to be an LED light strip below the sink in the bathroom, but it is not usable unless you plug it in. But it does not have a switch to turn it on or off. Reasonable design but very poor execution.
Even though the hotel is new, cleanliness means more than being new. I found this to be lacking.
The electrical outlets next to the beds and the work area have both an and older USB 3 port and a new USB-C port too which is finally happening. A good feature I would like to see in all new hotels.
The front desk staff is curt but not polite.
Overall, for a Westin, I find this location and value lacking. It's neither next to an airport nor near a downtown. Again, in my opinion it's not worth the price. I used to live in Raleigh and I've frequented most of the Marriott locations...
Read moreI was debating whether or not to leave a one star or a three star review, but honestly, after our checkout process. I feel like I am inclined to leave a two star review. There were a lot of things wrong with this trip. I’ll start with we pulled up to the hotel to the valet service, where we returned away because they held a gala And took away our vallet spot In favor of those for the event. Why am I being punished I am a guest of the hotel as well. First red flag, and I should’ve tried to see if I could find another hotel in the area, but it was only for one night. We had to go self Park and the reason why we didn’t want to do self Park in the first place was because we wanted to explore the city as it’s our first time staying here. I honestly don’t know how this hotel has so many rave reviews. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, my entire life, and this one really dropped the ball. We had stayed here for a concert and while yes, it was very nice that the stadium where our concert was being held. That was only a six minute walk. The up charges for every little thing, definitely did not make it feel like a glamorous stay. $7 for a water bottle? Please. I will say the staff is very friendly and quick to help you one person that I would like to give a shout out to is Abi at the front desk. When he saw that I was upset about the valet parking, he waved the fee for the self parking. One small thing, but it really made all the difference. When we went to the breakfast bar, we were told that it would be $30 per person. Obviously, that’s quite a charge for a simple limited buffet. We decided to try the breakfast buffet, and we were greeted with cold and unseasoned food. It seemed quite messy in there and we struggled to find a table. Honestly, the hotel was not half bad, in terms of the rooms, staff, and service. However, what they portray to the public and what they actually are is two different things. For what they charge and up charge you on just stay somewhere else where you can get your...
Read moreDuring my recent stay at The Westin Raleigh-Durham Airport Hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of comfort, service, and convenience the hotel offered.
The hotel is located just minutes away from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), making it incredibly convenient for those with early morning or late-night flights. The proximity to the airport doesn't affect the tranquility of the hotel, which is set in a peaceful area. It's also close to major highways, which is handy for exploring the surrounding area.
The check-in process was smooth and efficient. The front desk staff were friendly, welcoming, and eager to assist. I appreciated the extra touch of offering a bottled water upon check-in, which felt thoughtful after a long day of travel.
The room was spacious, modern, and immaculately clean. It had a comfortable king-sized bed with plush linens that made for a great night’s sleep. The decor was contemporary, with calming, neutral tones. I also loved the large windows that let in natural light, along with blackout curtains that ensured a restful night. The amenities were excellent, including a large flat-screen TV, coffee maker, and a mini-fridge. The bathroom was equipped with high-quality toiletries, and the shower was large with great water pressure.
The complimentary airport shuttle service is a huge plus, especially for travelers with tight schedules. It was prompt and made the whole process of getting to the airport stress-free. Chris, the shuttle driver, is truly exceptional—always going the extra mile to help. He's incredibly friendly and constantly has a warm, welcoming smile.
My stay at The Westin was a great experience overall. The hotel offers excellent accommodations for both short and extended stays, particularly for those flying in or out of RDU. The combination of quality rooms, attentive service, and convenient location makes it an ideal choice for business travelers or anyone needing a comfortable place to rest...
