Used to be my favorite place to get Thai food in the triangle. I've been coming to eat here for quite some time. My last several visits to this establishment though have left me not wanting to shell out the cash and make the 30 min one way trip anymore. I usually get the Red Curry dish, the summer rolls and the crab angels. As of late the curry dish has about half the meat(chicken is my choice) it used to have(I've been coming to this place for over 15 years). Not a big deal if it happens on occasion, however its been consistently less than it used to be by about half, now more liquid has replaced the meat.
Typically I pick it up and take it home, and buy an extra serving to eat later on in the week(we love this stuff). Usually it will separate once its cold, no big deal. However yesterdays serving seem very ..tart and when i pulled it out of the fridge today it had not separated, very unusual. The taste though was enough for me to stop eating it and realized something wasn't right. If I had to guess I would have said spoiled cream/coconut milk.
The summer rolls have also changed. The were a little bigger than the spring rolls in size and length, and we chocked full of julienned vegies with decent size shrimp. Lately they are much longer than they used to be (about 1.5 inches), however this is due to the fact that they just stuff a whole piece of romaine lettuce in the wrap, whose volume then makes up most of the summer roll, not to mention the shrimp are smallish now too, but they are!
Finally the crab angels, not really sure what to say here. We haven't ordered them in a long time but these look like what you get at your local authentic store, tiny little folded up dumpling style squares that are mostly breading. the filling inside of those ones we got was less than .25 oz, virtually hollow with a hint of crab flavor. Definitely not like they used to be and do not look like they are advertised at all.
For a dinner with 2 sides @ $30 on a pickup delivery I would expect slightly better products. On this last order I did mention the variation in the experience over the past several visits, but didn't seem to make an impact at all. Maybe well take a breaks for a year and give it a shot down the road, but for now, I reluctantly will find somewhere closer and see what they...
Read moreI'm thrilled to share that my second visit to Champa Thai & Sushi was a complete turnaround from my previous experience. It seems they've taken significant steps to improve, and the results were undeniably delicious.
This time, I had the pleasure of savoring a delightful Thai meal that truly exceeded my expectations. The medium spiciness level was not only spot on but added a perfect kick to the dish. The flavors were authentic and left my taste buds dancing with delight. It's evident that the restaurant has stepped up its game in the kitchen.
Another pleasant surprise was the excellent beer options available. A good meal often pairs wonderfully with a cold brew, and Champa Thai & Sushi delivered on this front. The variety of beer choices complemented the meal nicely and added to the overall enjoyment.
With this improved experience, I'm excited to declare that I'll be returning for sure. The changes made since my last visit have made a significant impact on the quality of the dining experience. It's refreshing to see a restaurant actively working to enhance its offerings and ensure customer satisfaction.
In summary, my second visit to Champa Thai & Sushi was a delightful departure from my initial review. The delicious Thai cuisine, the well-balanced spiciness, and the excellent beer options have won me over. I can confidently say that I'll be returning to relish more of their culinary offerings in the future.
Cheers to a restaurant that's committed to improving and providing a fantastic...
Read moreHuge disappointment . Extremely crazy manager who does not even know to talk to a customer. Placed an order for dinner with a total of $62 for 4 entree for a pickup. Came home after pickup and was surprised to see a bill of $82 with $17+garubhub fee. Kids were hungry and after opening the food the quantity was half the portions, asked medium spicy and food was extra spicy. Poor packaging as the food leaked allover. With a disssapointment I called them, after 🎶, the representative said let me get my manager to help you with. I expressed concerns of
Manger says- our website auto forwards to grub hub and they charge extra, it's not in your control we recommend u call us and place order next time.as you can see on 3rd pic there is postmate note but thr is noting about grub hub. When I tried to explain this, he goes on crazy. I felt least bothered about the extra charge and more concerned about the rudness of that individual talking to a customer. Ended up having a discussion and when I said would never order food from your place again, I was shocked to hear "np, then there is no point of this conversation". I had to tell him, he was such a crazy person who does not know how to stupid and crazy he was. I just Ended up reporting this company on the consumer court, also reached out to the consumer coordinator and food safety...
