I needed a quick late night bite to eat while my daughter was at soccer practice at Redondo High. So I headed over to El Burrito which isn't too far from the school. I ordered the Carne Asada burrito for the first time. The guy that took my order was friendly and he even gave me a free drink, maybe because it was late, I don't know, but I thought that was very cool if him. While I was waiting there I struck up a conversation with a couple that just ordered after me. Jim and Debbie, he was a local guy, went to South High school. Anyways, they just moved back to the South Bay from the desert and bought a home just blocks away from El Burrito. Very friendly couple and spoke very highly of their food. Nice to meet you guys last night. Long story short, (too late for that), the burrito was great. It hit the spot and it even came with some tostadas and salsa. I'll definitely be going back to try other things on the menu when I'm nearby. Maybe get a wet burrito and chill at the beach. The Esplenade is just down the street. Grab yourself something to eat and enjoy the view at the beach. Oh, and thank you to the other local there that ordered before me, I didn't catch her name, very pretty blonde girl. She said she lived in Redondo her whole life and lives around the corner. She recommended the Special "C", it comes with 2 Beans and Cheese Burritos and a...
Read moreYou don't understand how much of a local Treasure this place is. Anything you order off the menu is going to be delicious. It's got flavor, It's got just the right amount of salt, it's perfect. It really is for being a taco stand.
There are other El Burrito juniors in the area, but this one to me will always be the best one.
Usually I'll get the two bean and cheese burrito with a drink combo. That also comes with chips and salsa. Or I'll get the full blown Beach basket which has a regular meat burrito, a bean and cheese burrito, enchiladas, and some tacos. It also comes with beans and rice on the side. And you get the chips and salsa as well. It's definitely enough to feed 4 to 6 people. Worth every penny!
Bicyclist, Beach goers, people who ride motorcycles down pch, and the like, will truly enjoy this spot as a quick place to grab lunch, or a nice taco stand type dinner.
There's almost always room in the parking lot for plenty of cars. Only downside is that the bathroom is in the burger place across the parking lot, and they tend to close early. So keep that in mind.
Other than that, most people will usually enjoy dining on the outside patio. Please don't linger, and ruin it for the people who are in line behind you. Get your food, eat it, and be on your way please. :-) keep the system moving along, and everyone...
Read moreHad a quick 18hr layover in LA coming in from a 2 week trip in Asia and I was craving f$#! tacos!!! We were staying in the Redondo Beach area, so I followed a hunch based on the wave of reviews (490 - 4.5 star avg) on this lil taco joint off S. PCH. The line was long since it was lunch time, but once we ordered the service was prompt and the staff was friendly. FYI. They only take cash. We both ordered the mini taco plate: carnitas and al pastor (our go-to's). My excitment and craving were all satisfied as soon as I took my first delicious bite. Each taco tasted fresh and the meat was perfectly seasoned. The portions of these so called "mini tacos" were some of the most generous I've ever had. They also give you almost a half a bag of whole tostadas that serve as chips and salsa (forgot to take a pic!) This place is a must if you are seeking tacos in the Redondo...
