I checked into Best Western Salbasgeon Inn and Suites on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. I was in town for business and always stay there. My previous stay ended up with my truck getting sideswiped to the cost of $5,100 dollars in damage and there are no cameras to view. Friday morning February 10, 2023 I went to the lobby for coffee and breakfast. There were several others in the lobby as well. A young man was there and asked if I was there to check out, because he was doing the breakfast and the front desk. I said I was there for breakfast. As I sat down to eat, I heard the General Manager on the phone at the front desk discussing an employee who had brought in a doctor’s note that put her on light duty. She stated that she had no use for the employee. I understand these conversations must take place but the conversation should have been in an office behind closed doors, not in a crowded lobby for the customers to hear. Later that day I went back to my assigned room to find my room number on a piece of paper taped to the door. I found that to be odd since no other door had the number taped to it. So, I went to the front desk where I found the General Manager. I asked her why the number was tapped to the door. She said she taped the number to the door to keep housekeeping from going in and out of the room I had rented because they were getting my room confused with the housekeeping room. I had the do not disturb sign in the key slot. I was originally going to stay until the 11th but felt very uneasy. I had my computer and work files in this room. At this point I immediately packed my things and started loading my vehicle. As I walked back up to gather my remaining things, I saw the General Manager again and she repeated that she is still trying to keep housekeepers out of this room. I will no longer be staying at Best Western. I am surprised the Best Western would allow this stain on their brand. Entering a room without the customer’s consent or an emergency is criminal.

I had the displeasure of staying at this hotel on my drive through to California. My significant other booked this hotel through Expedia. I arrived around 10:30pm after driving for 12 hours. Ashleigh who was working was very kind to me. She informed me as I arrived that there might not be towels in my room as housekeeping ran out earlier that day. No biggie, I was just there to sleep. As I checked into my room, there was way than no towels. The pillows were in a pile on the bed with no pillowcases, there was molding food in the fridge in takeout boxes as well as black stuff in the toilet. I went back to the front desk and she apologized and moved my room. It’s now 11:30 at this point. I got into the new room and it was just as bad. There were crumbs on the floor, hair in the bathroom sink, a yellow ring in the toilet. But there was towels and the bed was properly made. I just needed sleep to continue my drive the next day so I said whatever I’m not going to keep pressing this issue and will contact Expedia. As I crawled into bed, the bed had a HORRIBLE stench. Smelled like feet so bad that I resulted to getting my own throw blanket and pillows out of my car and sleeping on top of the bed. I called Expedia and they escalated my claim to the hotel. They refused to reimburse me for this terrible experience. So here I am writing a review so no one else has to experience this. Photos contain a mixture of both rooms. I wish I got more but here’s the jist of it. I don’t recommend this place at all

Horrible Experience- Go to Coos Bay or Florence instead.

They recently did renovations to this hotel, but that hasn't made a single thing better. Door handles were even installed backwards, my first room had that detail. Toilets don't work properly either, as you'll see from the rest of this review. Management is the least helpful I've ever encountered in all my hotel stays.

I grew up in this area and should've known better than to utilize lodging in Reedsport, but it was one night and unplanned. Don't make my mistake. This isn't some premium hotel, they'll charge premium rates and you'll receive a Motel 6 level experience.

My room had a flooded toilet upon entry. I didn’t realize it was flooding until it flooded the carpet. I tried to call front desk for help as the water had completely impeded my way out of the room. No one answered. I waded through the water to shut off the toilet main and to go to the front desk.

The front desk attendant was sitting there, on his personal phone, right next to the hotel phone I had just called. He comes up and gives me a new room, but at this point the water had flooded into the room of the guest below me. They came up and asked me if there were water issues and I said yes. As they were standing there talking to me I mentioned this to the staff member mopping the bathroom floor and he stated

“Well they’re just gonna have to wait. I’ll cross that bridge later.”

After this I received my keys to my new room, the toilet in that room also didn’t work. I was worried there was an issue with the mainline or something so I test flushed it upon entry to the room and it had started backing up... for no reason. I emailed the location directly about this problem, and they stated that it was simply "Out of their control" and basically I need to deal with it.

I had tried to contact management multiple times before I made contact by email, but the listed phone number online does not work. This hotel does not have a working phone.... a hotel... does not have a working phone. Super classy.

Not to mention someone’s ten year old child was literally running up and down the cement hallway outside the rooms until 3 am.

I've read in other reviews that they've double charged people, accused other people of smoking in their rooms when they haven't, and there are a ton of reviews regarding lack of cleanliness. So much for the "We'll use this information to improve future stays" PR statement they put on all bad reviews eh?

It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, let alone a bad review on all possible platforms. But this really aggravated me, long day of work, long drive, absolutely abysmal stay.

Don’t stay here. Learn from my mistake. You’re better off driving the rest of the way to Coos Bay...

Oh my goodness. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in -- and I've stayed in a LOT of hotels. It was disgusting, noisy, the staff were useless, unfriendly, and uninformative -- and the other guests were horrible. Let me detail my experience, to hopefully inform anyone with some semblance of standards about this place. First of all, my mom and I were lied to about our room. We initially requested the king bedroom with a full kitchen. The employee on the phone then raved about a two bedroom that also had a full kitchen, that was the biggest room in the place, and then she said we would like that better. So we agreed to that room instead, naturally. When we get to the hotel, we discover 1) It was definitely not the biggest room there, so one lie already 2) it did not have a full kitchen. 3) One of our tvs wasn't working, we were told, in the living room - but the tv in the bedroom was working. It didn't matter because there weren't two separate rooms like they described -- just one tiny room with two tvs stuck in it. The tv in the "bedroom" that did work only had 5 weak tv channels, the rest were 25-50+ channels of shopping/advertising channels. 4) Our room was disgusting. It wasn't clean, the toilet ran perpetually and the handle was broken, the chair looked like it was covered in every human fluid known to scientists, and the couch wasn't much better. 5) The hotel staff allowed a large group of men (grouped together with one family, like a work crew and one of the men brought his family, including two kids who kept yelling and stomping around, plus he kept making them fetch beers out of the truck for him) to drink and yell right outside our room all evening. Literally, the worker with the family parked his truck 2 feet away from our window and stayed there all night yelling. The staff did nothing about it. 6) We could hear every car and truck drive by and it shook the room/woke us up every two minutes, all night and into the morning. It was horrible dealing with just that alone and we couldn't even get a few hours of sleep. 7) For all this, it was so overpriced for just...

We stayed here over spring break. When I made reservations, the general manager was great and very helpful. So we booked.

We were looking for single room with 2 queen beds and pet friendly.

The first appearance of the room was mediocre, clean and livable. The smell was stale and the window was open so the room was cold to start. The heater is really loud and has a stale smell when the air is blowing.

The pool ran out of pool towels and the staff offered us floor mats to dry off with. After taking a dip in the pool, we went back to the room to take showers and baths and the tub won't plug. Water is always draining, so no bath.

The next morning, the breakfast was very canned. Everything tasted like it was from a can. The waffles were okay but the eggs were like a soup. It was gross 🤮. The second day there was bacon, and that was a welcome change. Third day there was seemingly a problem keeping up with demand, but staff were gathered behind front desk and we had to ask for more food. After waiting for hot sausage and eggs to come out, staff came and put food in containers or cups for themselves before customers had a chance to eat.

I would also like add that each morning we were there, multiple staff were eating breakfast before paying customers as well. We had to wait on many occasions to get some hot breakfast.

Our room was not serviced daily - for example, we left after breakfast, put the sign out for the room to be serviced in the key slot so we could get new towels. Left for the day and came back to no cleaned anything...I called to ask for towels, but no one answered. I went to the front desk and the guy working was outside on his phone, saw me and came in. I told him we were out of towels and he said he would get some to our room. We came back from dinner and still no towels. I went back to tell him and he gave me floor mats. I told him they were floor mats and he gave me pool towels.

Other than the very friendly general manager - she was always hard at work. However, the rest of the staff was a bit unprofessional and could use a...
