Let me start by saying that I travel a lot for work, a lot. The service is great, check-in was a breeze, the continental breakfast is basic. There are no oat or almond milk options for non-dairy folks. The room is nice looking and comfortable, but it lacks closet space or a space large enough to hang a heavy winter coat and all of my work clothes for my visit. The website states that there is a mini refrigerator and complimentary bottled water. I asked about water when I checked in and was told that I would have to pay for it. The mini refrigerator is not a refrigerator at all. It's more like a box with racks and a light. It did not get cool nor cold, at all. I inquired about it at the front desk and I was told that it's more like a chiller and if I wanted to keep something cold I could keep it in their refrigerator downstairs. I don't want to eat out everyday so I purchase items that I can keep in the fridge to eat. I don't understand why this faux mini refrigerator is in the room. I will not stay here again. When I travel I expect to have what is stated on the website.

Great in terms of cleanliness and interior décor -- I believe this hotel is new so its rooms, lobby and hallways were modern and pretty. We liked the quality toiletries too. Another pro was that it was 30 mins from Salem and 15 from Boston. However there were a few cons. The first one was that sleeping here was unpleasant. We found the beds to be very firm and uncomfortable. We were also disappointed because we could literally hear everything beyond our room: from the doors closing in the hallway to people stomping their feet above us all morning long. We were also unimpressed with the front desk. The woman who checked us was unwelcoming and sounded robotic as she was listing off all the rules. I also found it odd that they didn't even say safe travels or thank you for staying with them (especially during a pandemic). Staff made simple interactions with them seem like it was a chore to them and so I deducted a star for the cold service.

The room could’ve been a little bit cleaner. Front desk staff didn’t know how to answer some questions correctly about the establishment and I got different answers from multiple people. Not sure why everyone’s not on the same page. You cannot order food and eat it in the dining area. You have to eat it in the front lobby Casual sit down area you cannot eat food in the bar unless it’s ordered from the bar. the bar food is not that good. There’s no sign saying you cannot eat food in an area where they have breakfast with about 40 places to sit. There’s nowhere else really to eat in the building. On top of all that the employees get to park in the very front like they’re the ones staying there as diamond members those spots are supposed to be for customers not employees lack of management here big-time. Not really in the best convenience spot it’s kind of a pain to get in and out of. I will not be staying here.

I stayed 4 nights at this hotel. It's newer, the beds are comfy, bathrooms are nice, and overall it was a nice hotel room. I saw others complain on here about noise -- I did not experience any noise issues. Three things the hotel can really improve on:

They don't tell you that you need to hang a sign on your doorknob if you want housekeeping to bring you more towels, take out trash, etc. We were never told that and I have never had to do that at a hotel (and I've stayed at my fair share, including other Holiday Inns). I appreciate LOADS that we had a continental breakfast; however, come on Holiday Inn; you can do better. We had four breakfasts here and it was always the same, all four days except one day there was bacon instead of sausage. Give us some variety and fruit dude. The price; $300/night during the week after taxes is a bit steep! I know it's by Boston, but... come on. It's not even downtown Boston.

OK, now to the positives! I called the hotel after we had our luggage at the airport and a free shuttle came and picked us up; it was there in less than 5 minutes! The shuttle driver was very nice and what a nice perk to have a shuttle take you for free to the hotel from the airport. We arrived too early for checkin, but they did put our luggage in a locked room so that was good. The hotel is also a ~5 minute walk to the subway station, another plus. The hotel room is pretty nice and what you'd hope from a Holiday Inn; cozy bed, tiny fridge, nice big bathroom and nice shower! We let the front desk know two days ahead of time we needed a shuttle bus to take us to the airport and they put us on the list. The shuttle bus driver was very nice and arrived on time. Again, a great free perk to be driven straight to the airport from the hotel!

I want to give this hotel 5/5 but I can't until they take care of the housekeeping thing, have better breakfast, and lower the price to at least $250. I do appreciate it was convenient (hotel shuttle bus, close to subway, continental breakfast) to stay at this hotel, vs staying downtown Boston for...

We needed a place near the airport for convenience for a later flight in for a decent price for two nights. Our big priorities are comfortable beds, breakfast included & airport transportation.

I like that the hotel is almost new. Our kids are picky so variety for breakfast is key. I like that they rotate daily the main items such as waffles, pancakes & eggs which were not dried out and flavorless like most breakfast buffet options. I did overhear one guest complain about the meat choice has always been sausage for the week she’s stayed there. Personally I was ok with that but I could see it be disappointing. It was nice that there was a bar to grab a quick drink at. They have a small food menu too. It was very busy with a baseball team staying at the hotel. We decide to opt for pizza delivery instead.

We didn’t use the pool but it looked nice but is small.

Gym is decent size with nice workout options.

We grabbed some waters & snacks at the grocery store about 2 blocks away. There’s a Target there as well for anything you need. We weren’t at the hotel much as we did the touristy site seeing during the day.

Beds were very comfy everyone slept really well. Ask for extra pillows if you’re like me who sleeps with 2-3 as they’re too flat and hard to sleep on only one.

Only negative is the room size which was tight for two adults and two teenagers. They are connected to the Staybridge Suites which probably has bigger rooms but nothing was available.

One thing to point out is across the street they’re remodeling what looks like the old dog/horse track at Suffolks Down to a huge complex with shopping, dining & apartments which will have a very nice array of options and this hotel location will be...
