We had a horrible experience with this hotel. We arrived late, after midnight as we were driving home cross country. Full transparency the room was booked through a travel site. When we arrived there were 2 women driving around and milling about in a white SUV, they welcomed us and seemed friendly, but it was odd. Once we received our room key after a somewhat longer than expected check in process, we went to our room. There were more people who seemed out of place walking around at nearly 1am, one of whom was a uniformed military personnel (presumably). Once we entered the room we found that one of the beds was completely unmade with the linen and bedding on the counter and floor and food items were on the floor. We went back to the desk to request we be moved to a different room. The male clerk chuckled when we told him what we found and stated "well we've really been without room service lately". He then informed us there were only king bedrooms left for the night and since we were traveling with more people than could fit in a king bed, said he could give us one at the price we had already paid and rent us the second for over $100. We stated that would not work for us and he suggested he refund our stay and we check other area hotels. One of the women who had been outside said she could "go throw some pillow cases on in a different room" so i presume she was part of the cleaning crew. I declined that offer. I agreed that, yes, I would like refunded. The male clerk informed me that he had canceled and refunded our stay but "wasn't sure how the payment would refund to us." Odd, I thought but was exhausted and ready to go to the next hotel so I didn't really question it further. After not receiving the refund I was told was processed that night, I disputed the charge via the travel site I used to book. They informed me that after a difficult time reaching management at this hotel, that management would not allow a refund. Overall, it seemed like a sketchy place with people milling about and loud, almost construction type noises after midnight, a flippant clerk who seemed bothered we were there, and a strange location off the beaten path. Not to mention the dirty room they tried to rent to us almost 13 hours after the scheduled check-out time. There aren't many rooms in the facility so I can't imagine they couldn't have it ready by our arrival. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel. There are many others in the area to choose from to avoid...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible rooms AND disgusting service. DO NOT STAY HERE!! We reserved two rooms, non-smoking, side by side for our family. We got there and the rooms were on opposite sides. Check in was 3:00 and by 5:30 the rooms were still being "cleaned". My daughter's room was a smoking room with burn holes in the carpet and smelled horrible. When I went to that room to ask why they were 2 1/2 hours late in cleaning, the man literally got into my face and shouted "I said 10 more minutes!!" I told him they were already going on 3 hours late and we've driven a long way. That's when I noticed he and the lady cleaning pulling a ball of wrinkled sheets from a bucket on the cleaning cart and were making the bed with them! It gets better: the young man at the desk was incredibly rude and charged my card THREE times when attempting to do the refund as we refused to stay with them. When shown the reservation on my phone of a non-smoking room, he stated "That's all part of it. You get what you get because we're busy." He was rude, condescending, and generally a little smart ass. My son-in-law had to sternly tell him to just give us our money back and we'd be on our way. The final kick? The dirty, nasty, disgusting looking people who were cleaning the rooms turned out to be JAYPRAKESH PATEL, the owner! They looked like they just crawled out of a dumpster and stood by while the young man at the desk verbally abused us. We went to the Super 8 across town and was treated incredibly well to clean rooms and a very nice man named Daniel. Daniel (a former EconoLodge employee) told us the Patel's couldn't find a cleaning crew that would work for them anymore and were forced to do it themselves. The EconoLodge is known locally as a dive that no one wants to work for. Do yourself a favor and pass this one by...the Super 8 is the same price for a beautifully clean hotel. Anyone who rates this dump better than a "1" must...
