A relatively new hotel and yes, it is a Hampton. Start to finish, this is a perfect example of the Hampton Inn brand including the design of the building, the check-in counter, the breakfast area and the room, including all the various features. I checked in at around 3:30 by a very new counter clerk (Thanks, Betsy! You did great!), took a quick nap and then was ready to start exploring. The room is clean, quiet and comfortable. It even smelled clean. Shower worked well and there were the proper amount of towels. Wifi worked fine as well. Breakfast was the standard Hampton layout with scrambled eggs, smoked sausage, potatoes, waffle maker, cereal, juices, yogurt and coffee. There was no road noise as it's set back from the highway a bit. But there were quite a few slamming doors, including my own when it slipped out of my hand. This hotel could do with a slow-close door system for the rooms. That would make it five stars.

This was near where I work so this was convenient to stay. Almost all the hotels in the area are sold out and they say it's mostly because of storm displacement still from the hurricane. I've stayed at many Hampton Inns and none of them for this price. I think that is kind of crazy that a room is $180. I couldn't find anywhere else to stay so here works the bed is comfortable the Wi-Fi works well and everything is clean. They do have a really nice tub that is curved so it's comfortable to your back. I don't love the price but I'd stay here again.

Great place, clean, breakfast pretty standard for a Hilton (you need to heat up most of the hot food), wish it had more fresh fruit but you can eat healthy if you’re careful. Gym is the highlight, pretty spacious, has free weights up to 75lb and medicine balls, TRX, and pull up bars, cable machine. Location right next to 75 so you can catch some traffic noise at night. A/C worked well, room service every other day, shower/bathroom was a little dated. Will stay here again

This trip was by myself to visit family in the area and to purchase a new vehicle. We normally stay at another popular brand hotel across the street but decided to give this one a try.

I arrived early in the afternoon. Check-in was quick and easy for my reservation, and I was pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a king suite. The lobby area was clean and inviting. The gentleman who checked me in was very helpful and friendly.

Arriving in my room, I noticed a subtle smell of mildew combined with a strong smell of something resembling liquid fabric softener. I have a very sensitive sense of smell, and it's not uncommon that I smell mildew in rooms with the outside wall mounted heat/ac units.

Other than that, the room was nice. It was very spacious and well laid out. The hotel is only about 2 yrs old, so everything is still relatively new and up to date.

The bed was very comfortable. The only problem is they have small, thin, very soft pillows. I travel with my own pillows for this reason. I personally prefer king-size pillows that are fuller and firm. If you have a pillow need other than basic, bring your own.

The room was very quiet. I didn't hear any noise from other rooms, nor any hallway noise other than an occasional nearby room door closing, which was only noticed when I was sitting on the couch in the "living room" area reading.

They do allow pets to stay. Two rooms Don from mine had a small dog that barked most of the day. It was very noticeable when in the hallway, but once in the room, I couldn't hear it at all.

The rooms do have a mini fridge and microwave. The showers and bathroom have full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion all mounted on the walls for use.

Housekeeping always did a very good job when they cleaned.

They offer complimentary breakfast every morning. Very comparable to most hotel breakfast offerings. Hot eggs, potatoes, & meat, pour your own waffles, oatmeal and cold cereal, bagels, bread, muffins, fresh fruit, etc available as well as juice and coffee.

The area was always kept clean and items filled. And plenty of areas to sit and enjoy your meal.

There is an outdoor pool. It was always clean and organized. The seating area around the pool is a little small. I could see it feeling crowded with just a couple families using it at the same time.

The parking lot appears small. But even on the few nights they were sold out, there was still plenty of parking open. The lot is very well lit at night and laid out to where you feel secure even late at night.

I can't comment on the laundry facilities or the gym room because I didn't use either.

The location is close to the highway. You exit the property onto a 6 lane divided road. The only drawback is that there is no cutout to access to or from the other side. So you must go all the way down to the next stoplight and do a u-turn. There is a strip mall with some dining and shopping in as well as a McDonald's and a KFC across the street. But because of the busy 6 lane road, I would not recommend walking.

I will stay here again on future visits and wouldn't hesitate to...

We cannot sing Monica’s praises loudly enough!

If there’s a Hall of Fame for hospitality heroes, Monica’s name belongs at the very top in golden letters. After trudging through a snow-covered wasteland with temperatures as cold as my ex’s heart (10°!), we were shattered to discover that the treacherous booking app had forsaken us. But just when despair threatened to consume us, Monica appeared—a beacon of hope, a warrior of warmth, and a savior armed with cookies.

Our battle began when Monica learned of our plight. The villain of our story emerged—a distant tyrant known as Anthony, stationed in some far-off lair in India, wielding the power of bureaucracy and indifference like a dark sorcerer. He laughed at our misery, his tone dripping with disdain, trying to convince us that our reservation was gone, and so too were our hopes of a warm bed.

But Monica wasn’t having any of it. She squared her shoulders, her eyes blazing with determination. “Not on my watch,” she declared. With the spirit of Joan of Arc and the wisdom of Gandalf, she grabbed the phone and dove headfirst into the battlefield.

What ensued can only be described as an epic war of words. Anthony hurled obstacle after obstacle, his voice like venom, conjuring policies and terms like fireballs. Monica, undeterred, wielded her arsenal of charm, wit, and unshakable righteousness. Each rebuttal was a sword strike, every calm yet firm statement a shield that blocked Anthony’s foul tricks.

Hours seemed to pass as the battle raged on. Sweat beaded on Monica’s brow, but she never faltered. At one point, we could swear we heard Anthony’s resolve crack, his voice trembling as Monica dismantled his arguments with precision. Finally, with a triumphant flourish, she delivered the final blow—a legal clause so devastating it left Anthony stunned and retreating into silence.

The beast was vanquished. Not only did Monica secure us a full refund from the clutches of the dark booking app, but she upgraded us to a suite so luxurious we thought we’d wandered into a palace. Extra bed? Check. More cookies? Check. She even threw in a level of maternal kindness that felt like being wrapped in a warm blanket of love.

Monica is no mere receptionist—she’s a warrior, a diplomat, and a cookie-wielding goddess. My firstborn daughter will be named Monica in her honor, and one day, I will return to Ruskin with sacks of US currency to shower her with the rewards she deserves.

If you’re lucky enough to stay here, make sure to meet Monica. Five stars aren’t enough—she’s a legend! Might as well be the CEO of...

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Hampton Inn in Ruskin, which I had booked specifically because the hotel advertises it as pet friendly. Unfortunately, my experience did not align with the expectations I had, and I feel it is important to provide feedback on the matter. I checked in on Wednesday evening, November 27th, and immediately noticed several pets in the lobby and parking lot, which I appreciated as it aligned with the pet-friendly aspect of your property. However, the situation took a negative turn the following day, Thanksgiving Day, November 28th, when I received a phone call from the hotel at 3:04 pm inquiring about my dog. I was informed that the hotel had received complaints about my dog howling. I want to stress that I had only been away for approximately 15 minutes, and when I returned to my room, I did not hear any howling or barking. When I addressed the situation with the front desk staff, I was told that complaints had come from neighboring rooms. However, my investigation revealed that there was no barking or howling in my room upon my return. I was surprised and frustrated by the way this was handled—two consecutive phone calls, with no voicemail after the first call, created an unnecessary sense of urgency. The manner in which I was questioned about my dog seemed to suggest a lack of awareness that the hotel accepts pets. Additionally, when I raised my concerns with the front desk, the response I received was dismissive, with an implication that guests without pets have a right to enjoy their stay, which I agree with, but so do I as a paying guest. Given that the hotel claims to be pet friendly, I expected a more accommodating approach. A few ways this could have been handled better include: • Not calling twice in a row but instead sending a text message to notify guests of issues. • Grouping pet-friendly rooms on one floor or in a designated area, so that guests with pets are not placed near those without, to minimize disturbances. • Providing guests with a clear understanding that pets are welcome but may make noise and setting reasonable expectations. Due to the lack of professionalism and the uncomfortable experience, I decided to check out early and will not be returning to the Hampton Inn Ruskin. I hope this feedback will be used to improve how future guests with pets...
