Our son is in the army and currently living in Parrish. So every couple months we like to head down to visit the grandkids for a week or so. My wife is disabled and requires the use of a wheelchair and accessible amenities such as shower, bathroom grab bars etc.
So we usually just stay at hotels for her comfort and conveniences during visits. This is the first time we have ever stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. Normally we stay at a Hampton or Hilton but they did not have any accessible rooms available for this trip. Searching online for another 3-star or better hotel nearby this was the nearest option. Reviews were good so we decided to give it a try.
I'm glad we did. When I made the reservations online we requested an accessible room with roll in shower and extra pillows. When we arrived, check-in was quick and painless. We had our room cards and ready to head up in under 5 minutes. Both girls at the desk were very friendly and helpful.
The room was very clean upon arrival. Extra pillows were stacked on the bed. The room is larger than most of the rooms we get at the other brand hotel we normally use. The bathroom was larger than we are used to as well.
Out back is an outdoor pool, a large seating area with nice couches, chairs and tables with plenty of room for multiple quests use. They also have 2 gas grills and a smoker available for guest use. The pool and outside seating area were always clean and orderly. There is another nice sized outdoor seating are up front just outside the main entrance. And they even have an outdoor designated smoking area with a bench just to the other side of the entrance.
Breakfast is served daily and included with the room. The selection of different items was good. Bread, bagels, muffins, Cinnamon Rolls, cold cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, fresh fruit, milk, coffee and juices. They also have a pancake machine for fresh pancakes. And each morning a variety of hot items which would change daily...biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs fried eggs, vegetable omelets, plain omelets, bacon, turkey sausage, pork sausage.
They have a coffee station 24/7 with fresh regular and decaff as well as hot water for tea or hot chocolate. The seating area in the lobby for breakfast is quite large with plenty of seating and the local news on TV to watch while you ate if wanted to.
There is an exercise room and laundry as well but neither were used by us so can't review those areas.
Internet access is also included. Had no issues streaming a movie or working online the times I used it.
All of the staff were always friendly and cheerful. From front desk, housekeeping, breakfast cooks/preparers and maintenance every person we came in contact with always greeted us and were very friendly.
I don't sleep well and usually only an hour or two at a time. So most nights I'd be up and go down for a smoke a couple times throughout the night. The young man who worked the front desk overnight, I believe his name was Tanner, was great. After coming in from my smoke each time I'd always stop and chat for a few minutes with him. Great guy to talk with. Always helpful on where to find stuff in the area (stores, eating out etc) and even showed interest (or at least pretended to be interested quite well đ) in what adventures we had with the grandkids the previous day.
And just as important as everything else is as being comparable to the other Chain hotel we normally use, this place was a little over 40% less in cost. I will definately be staying here for the remainder of visits during the time our son is stationed in Tampa and am looking forward to trying other Holiday Inn Expresses on vacations to other areas.
Would highly...

The hotel itself is very modern and welcoming. It has a nice seating area out front and a large seating area out back, with grills, that has plenty off seating for multiple groups. There is an outdoor pool and hot tub as well.
Inside has a lobby full of seating and tables to work at, visit or just hang out and relax if you don't want to go outside. There is a small pantry next to the front desk that offers frozen snacks/meals, ice cream and drinks to purchase.
Breakfast is served daily and has a wide variety of hot and cold items to choose from and the main hot items change daily so it's not the exact same thing every day. Sweet rolls, breads, muffins, bagels, cold cereal, scrambled eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, pancakes , coffee and multiple juices are some of the items available.
The rooms are modern and very well sized. Plenty of dresser and closet space to unpack into, very comfortable beds, large bathrooms, with mini-fridges and microwaves included.
The parking area is very well lit but sometimes is very full if they are sold out.
All of the reasons above are enough to justify staying here, but there is one component that stands out even more to make this the place to stay. That is the staff.
By far one of my favorite places to stay because of their employees. Every one is super friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff do a tremendous job on the rooms as well as keeping the public areas looking great. The food staff does an excellent job of keeping items fresh, well stocked and clean. The counter staff go above and beyond to assist you, answer questions or help to resolve any problems you may encounter. Everyone always greets you with a smile and takes the time to answer questions or help in any way and makes you feel that you are a priority.
The workers here are what makes this a great place to stay and feeling like your...
