I am currently staying at this hotel. To be honest, Staybridge is one of my top two choices in hotel stays. I travel quite a bit, and I really like this hotel. But I ran into a couple of issues at this location. First, I booked through Expedia, so the day that I arrived, they charged my card for the full stay, which was four nights. They also did the $50 incidental hold. All of that was fine. But two days later, they charged over $460 to my card again. I spoke to the manager who couldn't really explain to me why it happened. She said something about a preauthorization hold, and it automatically generating to make sure the customer has the funds available, though she could clearly see I had already paid the full amount, so that never should've happened with my card, but she couldn't answer why it happened. Things like this make me nervous because I've had my identity stolen before, so I don't like that no one could explain to me the reason this happened. I know technical issues occur, but why it happened to just me is quite odd. She did reverse the charge, so it's on its way back to me, but again, just makes me uncomfortable because I had already paid for the full week and the system should've never auto-assumed anything when I had a zero balance. Secondly, this morning (day 3), I asked the manager if a refresh of my room could be done. I just needed one more towel, and assumed they could make the bed as well. She said she'd make sure it got done. I told her I was going to work and wouldn't be back until after 5 p.m. I got back around 6:00. Nothing was done. I called the front desk and she said that two housekeepers called off today, which she acknowledged wasn't my problem, but perhaps that's why it didn't get done. She said she could come up with the towels in an hour; that she was busy at the moment. I told her that was totally fine. Here it is, 8:10 p.m., however, and she still hasn't brought it up. I am trying to wind down for the night and don't feel I should have to go all the way back downstairs for a towel--something someone, even the manager herself, could've done at some point before she left for the day. Anyhow, the whole towel thing really isn't that big of a deal. And had it not been for the extra charge to my account, I never would've even left a review. Like I said, I really like the hotel, in general. My room this time, other than a couple of minor issues, is totally fine. Like the fridge wasn't all the way clean, and the shower had an odd smell, but I always clean Lysol spray my entire room when I go to hotels anyways, so again, it's cool. I just wanted to share my experience with the card, and hope it doesn't end up being anything more, as I will be calling the Corporate line to report it, just because I really hope it was some glitch in the matrix and not someone trying to steal from me. Update: This morning, I checked out, but prior to that, I had another issue. I had just gotten out of the shower, and some guy just keyed in and opened my door. Thank God I had the metal piece on there to prevent him from opening the door all the way. I said, "I'm still in here. Can you come back later?" I could've swore I heard him say, "Yes, sorry." But then about 20 minutes later, it happened again! At that point, I was right by the door, but still undressed. The guy said, "Oh, sorry. It shows you're checked out and the woman couldn't get into her room." I was so appalled because - WTH?! Then the lady at the front desk called me and informed me that the system showed me as checked out and said perhaps I had checked myself out online. I told her I had not, and that I didn't know what was going on with their system or staff, but this wasn't the first issue I had on my trip here. When I got downstairs a bit later to actually check out, the lady humbly apologized, admitting that she had actually checked me out somehow by accident that morning at 7:30 a.m. I must say that I appreciated her admission of her mistake because a lot of people wouldn't have apologized or admitted it. This trip was just...
Read moreIt was a very nice hotel the staff is great but unfortunately our stay was not as great. Checked in went up to our room and dropped everything off and went about our adventure for the day, as we got back and changed and went down to the pool it was ok but we was told it was a heated pool which was not my 2 granddaughters was still having a good time so no biggie then next thing we knew about 15-20 young teenage girls came in jumped in one hit my granddaughter as soon as she jumped in so they moved to the other side of the pool as they didn’t even get an apology or nothing but then all the girls ended up down where my granddaughters was and they started wrestling around and got my other granddaughter right in the eye so I got them out and we did let the staff know what took place went back upstairs to watch a movie together and relax pulled the covers back only to see that the sheets was dirty so again we let the staff know and instead of moving rooms they brought us new sheets to put on the bed. Now mind you it has a stove dishes fridge and all in the room and we went to make dinner couldn’t find hardly any dishes BECAUSE WHOEVER STAYED IN THE ROOM BEFORE US USED THEM AND THEY WAS LEFT IN THE DISHWASHER SO I KNEW THEN THE ROOM WAS NEVER CLEANED BEFORE US!!!! I paid $330.00 for a DIRTY ROOM!! Very very unhappy! So needless to say everyone check your rooms. Also one other thing, Sunday morning we went down to get breakfast and the breakfast that morning was very disappointing and cold, Monday morning was a lot better though!! Come on Staybridge you got to do better! We take our granddaughters out once a month for a weekend getaway and this was a first for us to ever experience anything like this, unfortunately we will not be back here! Another thing was when we arrived the shampoo and conditioner holder was broken in the shower and there was hair in shower drain, not only was it broken before arriving but it was also empty so we had to leave just to get shampoo and conditioner due to never receiving any!! So yes it was very disgusting and...
Read moreWhen I walk in to receive my room, I had to sign a paper and give my ID to the front desk, I take a pen and it’s dead so I take another one it’s also dead, the third pen I pick up is exploded with ink all over it! Got all over my hands and all over my face on my ID, which isn’t a huge deal I can wipe them off with alcohol and it will most likely come off, but my issue is that when I showed him he got it on my ID he thought it was hilarious and that made me upset because if I ruined someones stuff I would be apologetic or trying to wipe it off myself not laughing at the person. So we get our keys load up our stuff and head to our room. First thing noticed when we walk in the room was all the fingerprints on the headboards, then the living room had a layer of dust on all the surfaces, the bathrooms looked like someone sprayed the toilet with cleaner and never wiped it afterwards there were lines on the toilet seat cover where the cleaning product dripped down and dried like that. Then we notice that it’s set to air in our room around 65 degrees when we entered. Mind you it’s only 17 degrees outside that day so that wasn’t a pleasant entrance to our new hotel room. We turned up the heat and left for a while, came back and it was still cold so we cranked it up and went to sleep. Well all night we kept hearing and feeling wind coming from the window and couldn’t figure out why. Come morning I opened the curtains up for some light and noticed the 3rd story window was open a little bit. I tried to close it but it was off the tracks a little bit and seemed stuck there so it wouldn’t budge. I told staff at the desk about the freezing all night issue and all she said was oh I’m sorry. I expected her to try and make up for the issues we experienced but she wasn’t to worried about it. Lastly they allow cooking in rooms so we had someone cooking fish or something else that smells very similar to fish in the room next to us. We were gagging every time we went in the hallway because it was...
