It was horrible! We booked our room a month in advance through a Anthony Travel. We were there for ALDC Tournament. Arrived Saturday about 2:30 to check in; the lady at the front told me and 3 more familes that the rooms were not ready; that they were being cleaned. She called housekeeping infront of us and asked them to please have 4 double rooms ready. She then said if we wanted to go eat and when we come back we should have our rooms ready. Sure we said; when we come back our rooms are ready? She said; she took our names down so while we were out she will work on our reservations and when we arrive back she will hand us the keys to the rooms. That easy she made it sound. So the 3 families and us left to have lunch; we were gone about 1.5 hours come back to hotel because we have to get ready for the soccer game that will start at 6:00. I get to countered there is a different lady. Erica is who greets us. As I give her my name she has this sad look and says "I'm sorry I don't have a room for you!" I was WHAT!?? I couldn't believe it! Not only did my family did not have a room but the other 2 families also did have rooms! She says I'm sorry to tell you but we were overbooked! At this point I am extremely upsset becasue how was it that the other lady sends us to go have something to eat because the rooms are being cleaned and this lady tells us there are no rooms!! I asked her to explain to me how that was possible and she said she didn't know what happen but this was out of La Quinta control because 3rd partied overbooked them. She said she has been calling Hotels to see to accomodate us at their cost. After an hour of battleing on how this even happen she flat out said there are no rooms anywhere near by; the next available hotel was about 2 hour drive! But that is not it... as I see people come in and check in they get rooms so I go and ask her how are you letting others get rooms and not us! Wouldn't be us 1st before anyone! Still she had way of explaining but only that theirs were reserved. I said so were ours!! We reserved about a month ago!!! Some how two 1 king bed rooms got available and for that night 3 families shared the two rooms with the promise that the next day we will all have our rooms!!!! Being that it was late in the day and we needed to shower and rest for the next day game we accepted. Besides where else could we go! I myself was calling around hotels and all were booked. Next day comes along we go to 8:00 am game; we get back and I realized that check out is not until noon; and it's 10:45 and I just go ask the lady upfront if any rooms were aviable yet; she says oh yes; they are being cleaned. So I give her my confirmation that Erica had given me the night before. The lady says ok it will be about 10 min. room is being cleaned. 20 min. later she said it will be another 20 min they are finishing up the room. Then i see her come into the lobby and I know ohh geezz now what she says sorry but it will be another 30 minutes. At that point I loose and say "JUST GIVE ME THE DAM KEY TO THE ROOM! THEY CLEAN WHILE IM IN THE ROOM"! I'm not leaving again so that when i come back the room is no longer available! She gives me the key; I head up to the room so that i can put my stuff in; the cleaning people had just arrived into the room!!! So where were they all this time she keeps telling me it will be 10 min, 20 min and so on and so on! IT took the housekeeper about 1-2 hours to clean the room!!!!
It was the worst experience ever at this place!!! I don't know what happen becuase up until Sunday morning I kept asking Erica what went wrong and she said she did not know and that she was very sorry for what had happen. She did not know what the other lady had done wrong and she can do is try to help us in making our stay better.
Sunday morning I apologize to Erica for my bad temper but it was fustrating to know that you had no idea where you will be staying at!!!
I do hope La Quinta has a better staff that has knowledge of what...
Read moreLet’s get into it. Upon arrival the front desk clerk was just that a clerk… no welcome, no thank you, no explanation to their in house store, the time for breakfast nothing. The room was clean, but the bed was so uncomfortable, I could feel the springs. The bed is one of the most important things, but it was dated. Bathroom was super clean, well maintained, frig was clean and cold, microwave equipped as well. Only one side has a charging box so don’t forget your wall charger. I brought up the breakfast part because (see photo) there are different times on weekdays, and weekends but again the front desk clerk failed to say this. The in store is pricey, so get your drinks and what not if you can at a local store before entering for the night. $3 for some drinks that are a $1 or less at the convenient store. I tried asking the maid for something but she said sorry I do not speak English, so there was that… she didn’t even try and see what I was asking for on the cart. Pretty much all she had to do was see what I was pointing to on the cart and shake her head giving me the okay to take it… so she just proceeded to take out her cell phone and make a call midway while I was asking for something. Overall this is a nice hotel, the lobby is very nice well kept, they even have a bar if you want to grab a drink. Outside is very clean and feels safe. There is a nice pizza place within feet of the hotel so that is a huge plus. I have been to a lot of La Quintas…this is one of the nicest it’s just that bed that made me mad. Oh and if you are familiar with holiday inn, they give you a welcome bag nothing fancy but it does have a water, a notepad, and pen. It’s just part of the welcome factor, and La Quinta started doing this but this particular location did not. In fact when I asked about it he said no you can buy water right...
Read moreVery nice La Quinta hotel! (But had a few issues). It’s super close to the interstate and short drive away to food / shopping. Room was nice and spacious. Comfortable beds. Room TV could be larger. Breakfast was good but could use some improvements. (More hot food options. Better butter for biscuits). Nice TVs in the lobby / breakfast area. Could use a water fountain though as there are zero places to fill up a water bottle unless you use the water in the tiny gym or want water with lemons. Great coffee / hot water bar in the lobby though. The elevator takes FOREVER. Just take the stairs. Housekeeping is a joke (like other reviews). They didn’t put out any new soaps / shampoos for day 2. They just made the beds & took the towels we used. No new towels at all. Super thin walls! Could hear the people next to us talking / tv. And if you don’t get the top floor, expect to hear people stomping on top of you at 1am. 🤦♂️
Main complaint is that we booked online for a King bed a MONTH ahead of time. We get to the hotel early (say around 2ish PM), and the front desk guy rudely said that they were overbooked and we could only have a room with 2 Queens? What’s the point of the reservation then?!? (I feel like I’m in that Seinfeld episode! Search on YouTube). Not very good customer service if you ask me... 😤😤
I also didn’t feel too comfortable that there was a creepy hillbilly guy chilling in the lobby drinking coffee almost every time I went to my car or the lobby for anything. (I know that’s not the hotels fault). But just seemed fishy. Like he was scoping out people to rob or something..
This hotel is right next to a bar. The parking lot could be a little more well lit as sometimes there would be people from the bar trying to come over to the hotels lot....
