I went to the salon a couple of weeks ago and had only been one time previously. The first time I went, it was really busy and I received great service and got exactly what I expected on my Mani-Pedi. This most recent time I sat down to get my matching gel square-shaped Mani-Pedi. The lady doing my toes was nice but did not shape them into a square, and only put two layers of gel which left it see-through. I asked her if she could apply another layer in addition to the two that she had applied and she doubled my second layer before curing. My mom is getting a manicure done that I am paying for and I let the lady know short acrylic, full set square shape, and just regular polish. At this point, I was sitting close enough to my mom and had finished my pedicure and the lady doing my mom‘s nails said oh yeah gel is the same. I let her know that my mom wants regular polish because it sticks to the acrylic, that’s what she is comfortable with and I don’t want to pay more for gel on acrylic. The lady doing my mom‘s nails insisted that it was the same don’t worry about it it’s the same. Now, let’s pause to focus on my manicure in between the conversation with the other lady, my manicure nail tech was rude, had an attitude, and did not seem like she was interested in me, or wanting to do my nails. She did not clean under my nails properly. All she did was soak them and a glass full of water and started applying the gel. I had gel on my cuticles and some spots on my nail beds were missed. I asked her if she could be a little bit more gentle, tried conversation with her, and complimented her by telling her I liked her shirt. To top off everything somehow the lady burned my finger and I had a blister for about a week and a half. I knew who the boss lady is of bliss from the first time because I saw that somebody else didn’t receive great service. I asked for the boss lady because I saw that the lady up charges on the gel and wanted to tell her that I didn’t really appreciate the attitude coming from my nail tech as well as not getting what I wanted after asking twice. I told the lady that one of her nail techs said that gel and regular polish were the same, which I knew was not the same from getting my nails done after all these years, and the manager told me oh well sorry we can’t fix or takeoff gel so you pay it for it this time. I said to not cause an issue. I am definitely going to pay for this, and not ask for it to be taken off and/or wanting to receive a discount, but I don’t appreciate the fact that one of your nail tech told me it was the same thing. I let the boss lady know that I was getting interrupted and telling her that is not what my mom wanted. I just wanted to pay and leave because of my anxiety and did not want to make this a big issue, but I will be writing a review about it. I don’t appreciate the service that I received from me or my mom. I guess the best part about going to Bliss is getting two or three free drinks, but at the end of the day, almost all salons in Austin do that. I wanted to be a returning customer, but with the service I received last time and paying an additional 30 bucks that could have gone into their tip. I don’t think I’ll...
Read moreSo this is unfortunate, after coming here for years I was super disappointed in my recent visit. I took my niece and daughters to enjoy some nail time and for those who have not been this is not an inexpensive experience. I like this shops semi lavish nature and elegant visual appeal. Generally, when I go I may experience a minimal concern and it is fixed when I bring it up. With their move to a new and bigger suite the first thing I noticed was all of the new staff and I could not find a familiar face to rely on providing me proven adequate service. My skin becomes really dry so part of the reason I pay over $100 ($80 for the pedi $15 for gel plus design costs) for a pedi is to make sure I get a complete efficient service … let’s just say I had to schedule a next day appointment at another establishment because My feet felt like I did not get a pedicure at all when I left. When I advised the “manager” of the ineffectiveness of my pedicure she became argumentative and loud and …kid you not… loudly declared my dead skin was impossible to resolve and I would need a weekly pedicure. I was embarrassed as the lady was extremely loud and the whole building was tuning in for the scene. Even after I asked for some discretion in conversation she continued to be loud and defend the awful pedicure. Outside of this my toenails were not cut shaped nor cleaned … I kid you not…. I watched her put globs of polish on top of gel polish to try to cover up her awful paint application then watched in pure horror as she attempted to put chrome over the paint globs. Another employee had to come redo my polish job and when I say she had to cut, shape and clean my nails (I didn’t tell her she just looked and fixed the evident bad pedicure). On top of this all I had to use cold water during my pedicure process because the hot water system in the building did not supply hot water to the seats at the end of the isle. My best friend who set next to me received added water boiled in the back from her manicurist to accommodate… not I… even after complaining about the cold water …The manager did not even offer an apology. I paid over $600 in services for myself and guests but was treated like an inconvenience. Needless to say I will be looking for another establishment to handle my future...
Read moreThis place does not know how to take accountability when they mess up and want you to go thru hoops instead of making it right. My visit was horrible and I didn't complain until my toe started bleeding. First the water was cold when he did my pedicure and when I asked for warmer water he said the machine was broke and he didn't want to move me. Then my friend asked and his response was we are almost done with the water part of the pedicure. The nail tech next to him heard his response and said something to him and magically at the end of my pedicure there was warm water. So I kept my complaint to myself. Then I get my nails done and she uses the wrong color but I wasn't paying attention and the color she used was still pretty, so I didn't complain about that. I paid my money with no problem. However when I got home I noticed there was dried blood making my feet stick to my shoe and it was coming from my big toe. I examined it, tried to remember if I hit on something anytime from leaving the nail salon and then getting in my car and I couldn't. So my friend told me a similar situation happened with her at a nail salon so I called them. At first the lady was apologetic and said she would refund me then hours later she called back and said it was not their fault and that I'd need to make a claim but never sent me the information. So I went to the doctors to have my foot checked and they confirmed by the way it looked that the nail tech dug too deep in my cuticles or was too rough. I took that to the shop and they still did not believe me and accused me of trying to commit theft of services, even though I paid before I left with no complaints. She finally gave me their insurances phone number and when I called the man told me to get a lawyer if I wanted to be successful with my claim. All this when it was their mistake. I will tell everyone to...
