I am not one to complain about much, I have worked in customer service a really long time and I often overlook little things that many others complain about. That being said, I have had better stays at motels in third world countries...||||I checked in, and honestly I've never had such an intensive agreement to sign of rules and regulations that each needed to be initialed and signed for...Some standard 'quiet times' stuff but then some less than standard things I have NEVER seen a hotel make me sign for before - including agreeing not to operate any prostitution from the room....I was not aware at all that staying at this hotel would be THAT kind of place.....And I have stayed at some less than desirable (to most) places. It was for one night though, and I just needed to work and sleep, shower and go. Didn't think it would be all that bad...||||Headed to my room, there was construction going on in some rooms that I passed by on the way. No big deal to me at the time, it was 5pm and I wasn't sleeping or anything for a while plus it wasn't during the hours for quiet yet at all. Passed two homeless persons that were loitering in the parking lot. Again, I overlooked it. Got to my room and at a glance it seemed pretty clean.I wiped down surfaces and the tv remote etc for 'covid' safety and my own personal peace of mind.||||I walked to the Carls Jr nextdoor, got some food, walked back to my room. There were numerous less than safe to be around individuals hanging out in the parking lot of the hotel. Smoking in their cars etc. I guess I appreciate they were in their cars not the rooms smoking, but lets just say I didn't feel comfortable smiling as I walked by. Later that evening, close to midnight, I got the pleasure of rather loud talking, practically shouting, accompanied with loud car music. I called the front desk and reported it (not something I enjoy doing) and they said they would do a walk around....it didn't stop though until well after midnight regardless. The person on the floor above me must have been trying to get their steps in for the day or pacing over some sort of big decision because they were constantly thumping back and forth, even as late as 1am. ||||Woke up to the lovely sound of construction- in the room directly behind mine, but you could have fooled me because it sounded like they were re-tiling my room's bathroom. This started before 8am. I got up, took my shower to shake off the bad feelings from the night before, and when I went to get out I grabbed one of the towels only to find rolled on the inside it had hair on it. Gross, but okay there is another towel to use and I just wanna get on with my day. Well. The other towel had black paint like stains, and grey dirt stains on the inside of it. So I used the hand towel to kind of dry off, collected my things and left. ||||I let the front desk know about the towels, not in a rude way just in a 'by the way, I left these towels on the counter instead of in the tub because of xyz and well it was kind of too late to call you for clean ones and I'm checking out, but wanted you to know...". Adriana at the front desk was very nice, and apologetic - so I really don't have a complaint about the staff by any means just to be clear. ||||I booked this room through BOOKING.COM, and so far have not been able to discuss the issues with them and ask them to refund me for the stay or whatever it is they would do in this sort of situation. So not very thrilled right now with their less than helpful help site and contact phone numbers. Will keep trying to reach them, but wanted to get this out there and let you know that even if you are okay staying in a motel, the next one on your list might be a better nights sleep even if its 10$ more for the...
ย ย ย Read moreI can confirm the review of another user. I regret staying here.
The surrounding area is sketchy. Although I didn't see a lot of trash, there was some broken glass laying around. When I drove up, the building looks half painted and the lobby is half finished. I think the people working in the lobby don't have a lot of customer service or hospitality training. Don't get me wrong, the front desk people were not rude or mean, just a little rough around the edges with the ideal hospitality service one expects as a weary traveler checking in to a hotel. When I drove around the side to park in the back, there were at least a few vagrant looking people just hanging around the parking lot, which doesn't make you feel safe at all. I was certainly scared I was going to get mugged or my vehicle would get broken into, especially after they make you sign that document when you check in that motel6 is not responsible for anything that happens to your car when you check in.
The worst part of my stay was in the evening and overnight. In the evening, there were several loud arguments that I could hear from the neighboring tenants, which made me think something violent or illicit was going on. Overnight, one of the tenants was blasting rap music very loud until 4AM, and the management did nothing! I couldn't get any sleep and kept on thinking of checking out and asking for a refund.
All that aside, the room itself was not that bad. The room appears to have been recently upgraded to a more modern look and it was clean. The bed is some sort of memory foam mattress, which isn't the most comfortable and doesn't offer too much support or springiness, but it's not horrible. There are no bedspreads, which is fine with me, they simply sandwich a blanket around two flat sheets.
In summary, I really regret staying at this hotel and will avoid it in the future. It seems that they are trying to make the rooms nicer, but until they get some better CSR/Hospitality training, clean up the lots to make them feel safer, and regulate tenant behavior to make it feel less like your living in the slums, then this place will never be a decent...
ย ย ย Read morePLEASE READ; many things happened that the owner should know about. I was treated unfairly by Maria because her staff was not following procedures. I was already in a suite, and so i called the office to extend my room, and per the owner, he would match rates off the hopper. Well, the gal working said they didn't use hopper, so she wouldn't be able to match. So i didn't feel like arguing with her, so i said i would book thru hopper . Well, the hopper was having technical difficulties, of course. So i proceeded to go ahead and pack up my things. Well, i went to the office for check out and to get my cash deposit . The girl working front desk said she talked to the manager of hopper and was assured payment and not to worry evetuthings goid so i said i was going to get lunch i would be back. Well, when i came back, she was gone, and the guy knew nothing about this and said i had to pay for the room . I said, "Give me my deposit. i will pay an extra 25 dollars for the hopper to cancel." He said he cant it was past 2 pm, and they dont return deposits after 2 pm. I told him i wanted my deposit the first time i came down, and none of my belongings were in there, and he should call someone. Well, Maria was .not there, so he called her, and she said tell her someone will come to get your deposit, but i will be put on the do not rent list for their hotel. Why? Because you didn't follow thru and didn't do your job. It's funny how that works. i get on Dnr, and all I did was what i was supposed to do. Watch yourself. Staff is very unprofessional. It's a workplace, not a social gathering. Get it to get together, Maria, cause you will lose your job if more people tell the truth about what you're doing. SMH Thanks again, Irene...
