California Mantle out of Sacramento.

I called California Mantle out of Sacramento on March 21st, made an appointment with them for the following Wednesday, March 28 between 8am-12:30. I cleared my entire morning for this appointment. At 10:30am someone from California Mantle out of Sacramento calls and says she is just calling to verify an appointment for Friday, March 30th. I said , no, my appointment is for today between 8 and 12:30. She stated that she has me scheduled for Friday. I said no, it’s today and I cleared my entire morning for this appointment. She say’s “well we won’t be coming today” I said ,I find it interesting that you would call on the day of my appointment, in the middle of my appointment time slot for TODAY to verify an appointment that you say is really for 2 days away. My take is; they couldn't keep my appointment for whatever reason and needed to reschedule, but instead of being truthful about their screw up and apologizing; she’d rather pretend that I had done something wrong. My husband and I run a small business plus I manage 3 rental properties. I keep very good records of service appointments, because I do not have time to waste. This company is not dependable and they’re liars. I will never use this company. Thats my experience with California Mantle out of Sacramento.

2nd REVIEW OF CALIFORNIA MANTLE AND FIREPLACE. YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THIS ! Natalie my second conversation with CALIFORNIA MANTLE AND FIREPLACE did not go as stated below in your comment. So after writing my review about California Mantel and Fireplace, I receive this very nice call from someone named Melanie apologizing and taking ownership of their crew up. She asked that I call her back so they could fix their error. She even offered a complimentary service call. (see the above review). I believe in second chances and we all make mistakes so I decided to call Melanie back. I called her back a few days later and was SHOCKED by the response I received by the person that answered the phone. My call was apparently intercepted by Melanie's dad ( a very rude and nasty fella). This guy gets on the phone and asks "how can help you" so I ask to speak to Melanie, I am returning her phone call. He proceeds with, (in a very nasty tone) " WELL YOU'RE GOING TO SPEAK WITH ME, I'M HER DAD AND I AM THE OWNER! SO YOU ARE THE ONE THAT LEFT THE BAD REVIEW ON YELP JUST BECAUSE OF A LITTLE PAPER MIXUP, I'M GLAD THAT YOU THINK SO HIGHLY OF US". I was stunned, I couldn't believe what I was hearing ,that he was speaking to me in this manner! He's reading me the riot act because of their mistake. A mistake that now he says was a paper error, but on the day of the no-show, someone calls and tries to convince me that I had the date wrong. ( see my 1st review). He goes on to tell me "it was only a little paper mixup". In his mind it was only a "little paper mix up", it didn't seem to bother him a bit that waiting on a service call from California Mantel and Fireplace all morning and no one showing up was a complete waste of my time, nor did he care. He continues to go on and on reprimanding me for writing a review on yelp , at which time I used a few colorful words to explain to him that I am within my right to write a truthful review and hung up the phone. Who speaks to potential customers this way? STAY AWAY...

I rarely provide reviews for companies that I do business with, but in this case, the service and products that I received from California Mantel and Fireplace was so great, that I am compelled to let others know of what a great company this is.

We are building our dream home in Reno NV. When we shopped for fireplaces here in Nevada, the selection was small, and none of the companies we talked to left us with the sense that they were genuinely interested in creating the “feel” in our living room that we sought.

While I was resistant to do business with a company that was so far away, from the very first conversation we had with the sales representative at Cal Mantel, our minds were set that this was the right company to do business with. Finally, someone listened to what we were trying to create, and was enthusiastic about creating it for us.

California Mantel and Fireplace worked closely with our contractor to plan the installation, and before we knew it, our fireplace was installed! What struck me was how transparent the process was. I would never know that this company was over a hundred miles away. It felt like they were a local neighborhood business. The installers were friendly, helpful, and most of all, highly skilled in their work.

I unreservedly recommend California Mantel and Fireplace to anyone looking for a special focal-point in their home. Moreover, the prices and services are extremely competitive. A combination that is hard to find in...

I went in to purchase a replacement part for our outdoor fireplace. When I went in the staff was very friendly and they ordered a replacement pan for me. The pan was ordered on November 25, 2024 As of December 23rd, I had not heard from them so I stopped by to see if it was in. The guy at the counter went into the warehouse and I was told it was not there but Sean, the salesman that sold it to me would call back. He never called So I called on January 6th and the lady that answered the phone said it was there but had been marked wrong. I went in to get it on January 8th and no one offered to open the box to be sure it was the correct one. So when I asked to have the box opened, they handed me a pair of scissors. Upon inspection the inlet threads were larger than the original pan. Then Sean said I should go to Home Depot to get the adaptor. On a purchase of over $600 and going to a company that specializes in fireplaces I expected I would have been given some expert help....
