We pulled into the Holiday Inn to get a room, which had been advertised at $117 on multiple sites. When I went inside, the host said they were $169 plus fees, which would bring the total over $180. When I asked about the $117 rooms, he said that was an app deal and he didn't have access to that. I wont deal with someone like that, so we won't to the Quality Inn, where rooms were advertised at $78, and whaddaya know... they were priced as advertised. The only real negatives we read were about the crappy breakfast offerings, but we figure we could save $80, and eat a real breakfast anyways.
Check in was quick, easy and friendly. The room was easy to find, and easy to access, since it was an exterior entry type hotel. The room was dated, with many obvious wall and ceiling patches, but the room seemed like it had been updated with a modern sink, fake wood floors (no carpet!) And fresh wall coverings.
SIDE NOTE.... someone reading this needs to hear this... I like loud exhaust, but if you have this type of vehicle, please do NOT back into your space, right in front of the rooms, then let your truck idle for 15 minutes before finally leaving. Just accept that you should park on the other side of the lot, and walk the extra 30 ft.
Once inside, the room was clean, but stuffy (as is usually the case when they won't run the AC on an empty room). It took a couple of hours for the room to finally cool and the humidity to drop below 110%. I'm 6'5" and was pleasantly surprised to find a shower with a head mounted high enough for me to stand under. IYKYK.
We had 2 beds. One mattress was OK, the other apparently had an elephant sleep on it, since it had a huge dip in it. The covers were a combination of a sheet, a thick comforter and a top blanket. I can sleep almost anywhere, but had a hard time as I was either freezing, or sweating. The AC seemed to have a long off cycle that let the room warm up too much before kicking back on.
I was super mad to go to the vending machine and pay $1, expecting a 20 oz Dasani, for it to spit out a 16 oz members mark purified water. These things cost like $.09 each and taste worse than the Dasani I expected. At least put a piece of tape on the button so I know what I'm getting.
The room ended up being way too bright, and loud. Being an older hotel, there's a lot of noise that can be heard from people coming and going that i don't hear in more modern hotels. And the window coverings let in a lot of ambient light from the 1 billion candle power lights in the parking lot. Seriously, I get security lighting, but this was a bit much.
So, to sum it up, the room cost half of what their neighbor cost, which covers the cost of a better breakfast. The room was just ok... clean linens, clean towels, clean bathroom, but in need of new mattresses. If youre sensitive to noise and light, maybe room 119...

Read moreIf I could have this would be 0 stars!! These reviews cannot be for this Comfort -- but probably the one a block away. When I arrived I checked in - no issue there. The desk clerk was hard of hearing thought or just pretended she could not hear. Once in the room I noticed the A/C was not working. Maintenance came up and lowered the temp to 60 to make it work, I left for a few hours and upon return my keys would not work. I went back to the office and the Keys were re-programmed. Still not working -- back to the office again. She had to close the office and come up to take the lock apart to change the battery. That's when I noticed someone outside my door watching and smoking marijuana. Management asked her to leave if she was not a guest. She did not leave. but stayed outside my door and of course the door was open-- the whole time until management decided they could not fix the door. They gave me a filthy smoking room-- i informed that I have respiratory issues and I could not stay in a smoking room but it was the last room and they would not provide a refund. I had to clean the floors. in this room and I brought the towels that I used to clean those floors to the front desk so they could see. as they were sticky and so dirty in addition to many other sanitary issues in this room. I am very disappointed in the comfort inns now and will never stay at another. My thought is that these reviews are for the other--nice comfort just a block away. I don't see how anyway would rate this place like they did. It's an old not well maintained building and even the breakfast area had an awful odor. 0 stars--worst...
