My family and I love going to Cracker Barrel but on this particular night the experience wasn't what we were use to... Our server pinky was horrible. I always give my children's order first so I can get them settled she refused to take their order and said she needed to get mine first but I wasn't ready.. I just wanted the children to eat first. Because I wasn't ready she left the table without taking the children's order. I was so confused because never has a server refused to take children's order first. We had to wait 10 minutes for her to come back. When she came back I once again tried to give my children's food order first and rudely said she not taking any orders without me giving my order first. So once again she walked away from our table... At this point I wanted to leave but my children really wanted to eat here for dinner.. Finally when came back she decided to take the children's food order but by this time me and my teenager is ready to place our order. Our food ranged from breakfast and dinner... Food is finally placed... and this is where things go downhill... 3 tables came in after we ordered our food their server took the drink order came back took food order nothing out the ordinary... My teenager said the 3 tables that came in after us have gotten their food before us and have eaten and bout to leave... I turned and look and sure enough they had... I looked at my clock and realized we have been waiting on food for over 35 minutes. Pinky never came to our table to let us know if the kitchen was having problems. My children are out of drinks so my son took mine.. I got up went to the front asked for a Manager. When he came out he was very nice and explained to me that they were having an some unwelcoming issues in the kitchen and to bare with them he apologize for the delay and will make it right.. Now I'm okay with that because I got some type of answer... Get back to my table food came out but my food is completely cold ordered steak and shrimp. I pushed it to the side kids food good their happy and eating. Personally that's all that matters. When pinky came back to the table she didn't ask how everything was she just placed biscuits down and walked away. My children had to yell at her to get her attention to tell her my food was cold. She grabbed the plate and walked off. The manager came over and once again apologize and said he would take the meal off and was there anything else he could me.... well it's now closing time I've been seating in Cracker Barrel since 7:30 pm... I told him no I was okay I just wanted my kids to be full I'll be okay.. He said he'll make sure to take care of my table I said okay thank you... 10 minutes later pinky shows up with the check and her comment caught my family whole attention... she said here's your check he took off your meal and comped half your check i guess you got what you wanted... wow really... What I wanted was a decent meal and service. My kids was furious.. We've never experienced anything like that before.... We still love Cracker Barrel and will continue to eat there just will make sure we don't sit in...
Read moreI arrived shortly after 5pm, there was no one there customer wise, the employees were all hustling in for their night job. The workers in the shop were busy with non customer duties. A couple of groups came in, and we were all sat one after the other in different waitress areas. You can tell that everyone's orders were all placed at one point in time, and all of the waitresses, and I mean all, disappeared to the back at the house, until the food was ready. Food was served to each group, and then all of the waitresses once again, went to the back of the house for no one to see for quite some time. We all know that you deliver food, and you check back quickly to make sure nothing was forgotten,and then halfway through check again. But that didn't happen, the wait was much longer, each time. All the waitresses staying in the kitchen. You can see them back there, when you lean to the side in your chair, and they're all chit-chatting. I could have had the choice to walk to the door to ask for what I needed, or walk up front, that's not normal for cracker barrel. I've never been anywhere where, that all of the waitresses disappear at one time, and stayed gone, I mean come-on.. where was the manager on duty? They had to be up front, and if they weren't, then they were back there with them BS-ing. As for the food, the mashed potatoes were caked, the French toast was tough, the condiments that go with it weren't even brought out. I had to wait until I can catch the waitress again, to ask for these things. The sirloin tips were not completely warm through. Restaurants have some ups and downs for their food, but entire staff disappearing to the kitchen the entire time, can't say I've ever experience...

I heard that they had new items on the menu so I looked online to see what I wanted from our favorite local CB. Spotted a very appealing Country Chicken and French Toast combo so off we trekked to the restaurant. It wasn't on their local menu. Our wonderful waitress checked with the kitchen and found out it was available and had been brought back but hadn't made it to the printed version. Strike two came from the request for their allergy menu. They informed us that it was online and they no longer had printed copies. Wrong, the English version was unavailable but the Spanish version worked. My wife ended up having to order from memory hoping they hadn't changed their gluten contents in what she ordered. Strike three came from having to use their pathetic app to pay. I don't know why it should have worked this time, it rarely worked for me in the past. I will hand it to the staff though, when I checked out at the cash, they asked how things went. I calmly commented that it had been "Not great" so they insisted they get the manager. The manager was very apologetic and appeared concerned and said she'd ensure that the comments were reported upward. I hate to criticize one of my favorite stops but I do hope someone in a position to address these simple but important issues gets to see this review and do something about the issues.
